Booked a table and despite there being many tables available it took Nick 8 minutes to seat us. Nearly 50 minutes before food was served, some of which was missing and we had to ask for. The food was very good - no complaints. 3 pieces of bread with a huge selection of tapas was poor so we ordered some more. Twice we had to ask where it was, considering it just needed cutting off a loaf and bringing in! And we wanted it BEFORE the meals was finished. it finally came - £6 for 5 small pieces of bread and some butter!! Like i say, the food was fab. The problem was the speed of service - or rather the VERY slow service, constant reminders and the lack of warmth, empathy or enthusiasm shown by Nick. The word dour springs to mind. and 12.5% service charge is outrageous!

Food is quite ordinary For a place in central Manchester it looked very empty, just me and one pair of people during the lunchtime

We were a little concerned reading the largely negative reviews but the food was interesting, we had tapas , and the aubergine slices with honey and mint was really nice. Service was good the food arrived reasonably quickly and the ambience was nice. Other diners seemed to enjoy the experience.

Our experience was not what we would normally expect from a tapas restaurant. The food was cooked well, but the flavour was lacking. There was nothing special about it. We expected more and we’re disappointed. The service was average. We were left at our table for quite a while before getting someone’s attention to order our drinks. We would not recommend La Vina for dinner.

Excellent food and attentive service but felt we were a bit rushed to leave when we were the last table at around 10.15 and the kitchen was closed then so no dessert available

The food at LaVina was amazing. Full of flavour with a great variety. Service was good and the overall feel was very intimate and welcoming

Food was all like warm and bland, we came back as it’s the first place we had as a date 10 years ago and definitely won’t be returning. They have no real alcohol free options other than soft drinks and the food was very poor. Spanish is our favourite so if in Manchester El Rincon De Rafa or Evuna are the much better options
