   Great to sample some of the food from mauritius. Been wanting to come here for so long and travelled over 160 miles to get here and it was well worth it. Ordered a few starters, mains and desserts and the four of us shared it all between us and it was fantastic quality and great service

   Superb food with delicate flavours, ample portions and offered with lovely service. Great menu without overdoing the offerings. Fully enjoyed our evening and the staff and service were friendly, and efficient. We'll certainly be back again!

   Wonderful menu, wonderful food. Drinks are great too. The bench/chair was a bit too high for the table so was a bit uncomfortable sitting. Service was excellent though.

   Food delicious as always. Took friends from London including a soon to be trainee chef who was excited to be eating at the restaurant of a Masterchef winner. Thank you Shelina for your kindness and hospitality.

    Lovely unfussy restaurant with great food. Prawn fritters to start followed by chicken curry and whole fish with salsa. All excellent.

    The food was varied and well cooked. The staff were friendly and provided good service. The menu was very overpriced and remember you have to bring your own alcohol for which expensive corkage is charged.

    The starters were amazing! Pretty cool drinks as well. It was extremely loud inside. I couldn’t eat my main dish as I didn’t like it. The cuisine meant to be Creole/Mauritian but the dish was made with spicy sausage which was peperoni?! You simply don’t cook pepperoni like this. This is why you cut it in extremely think slices onto the pizza, cause it becomes bitter and creates sicky feelings after a while. I told the waitress and she said that she’ll remove it from the receipt but to whomever she mentioned the simply said no and I had to pay it. I understand that it’s a personal/subjective taste BUT YOU DO NOT COOK WITH THE WOKE PEPPERONI TO ANY DISH. Not even Italians do! Main dishes are extremely small as well. So appetisers and main have the same size. Good size for a starter but too small for a main.

    We went for lunch after a graduation ceremony at the university and we arrived to find a congratulations sign on the table which was lovely. The staff were friendly, the food excellent (highly recommend the fish) and, all in all, fantastic value for money. Thank you!

    We absolutely loved everything! My grilled octopus starter was particularly amazing and my husband loved the mutton burger. The drinks were so refreshing too. Great atmosphere and well worth the money. We wish we lived closer so we could come back soon!

    Delicious unusual food. Their cocktails are also fabulous - no need to bother taking your own wine. Prices are very reasonable. In all a lovely meal. It’s great fun sitting in a shack on off furniture - part of the experience.

    Food was fab - full of flavour with lots of layers. Spicy, without being too hot. Interesting dishes, and great veggie options. The starters in particular were outstanding. The chairs could be more comfortable, though, and the shabby chic look is a bit dated.

    I visited Lakaz with some friends to celebrate my birthday and had such a lovely evening. The staff were so friendly, the restaurant is stunning and the food absolutely delicious! My party had a mix of vegan, veggie and meat eaters and everyone had lots of options to choose from :)

    Had a lovely evening, flavours of the food are amazing and service was fabulous; didn’t feel rushed nor were we left waiting to order or between dishes. If you haven’t been I would definitely recommend you give it a try.

    Disappointed with the service, restaurant very busy with only 1/2 staff serving. Our starters arrived after the main course. And then came at different times. Had to remind waitress to bring drinks on 2 occasions, food was very delicious. Service was the issue in this occasion.

    Delicious food of a rarely seen cuisine. Venue is small but really charming, and the atmosphere was lovely - the waitresses were very welcoming! Had a great time, thoroughly recommend. As a highlight, the octopus was particularly tasty!

    Friendly service and food was very quick to arrive. Beautiful tasting food and very generous portions. Only two tables in on the Saturday night that we were in so it didn’t have much of an atmosphere. Would recommend and love to visit again in the future

    Lovely little place - very chilled - great food - even for vegetarians and vegans! Good deal on cocktail jugs with your own booze! Love it there!
