Renowned for its warm greeting and super friendly service, the Brasserie's Anglo-French cuisine has been a favourite with a star studded clientele that has included Frank Sinatra, HRH Princess Margaret, Mohammed Ali, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, and Diana, Princess of Wales.
The interior is full of distinctive artworks and the restaurant has been a regular haunt of emerging artists including Francis Bacon and David Hockney.
The brasserie menu features traditional British dishes like Langan’s bangers and mash, cod & chips, and potted shrimps. The spinach souffle is a must. Among long-running London restaurants, Langan’s is a star.

We enjoyed the busy buzzy athmosphere of this large brasserie immediately. Diners of all ages enjoying the food. Loved the old style table linen and waiters dressed like a big brasserie in Paris. Smoked Mackerel Mousse was light and tasty starter and Fish Pie excellent. Fellow diner delighted to see Calves Liver and Bacon which is rare nowadays and it was delicious. Good artwork and photographs on the walls. Good mixture of items on menu.
Been here a few times, its an established institution for a reason. Went for an aniversary, and they bought out some lovely Petit fours that arent even on the menu.
Large numbers of well trained knowledgeable friendly staff cost money, decent hotel standard cocktails cost money, however wines available by the carafe and a nice mixed menu that would suit most pockets.
Some gems on the menu unchanged for years, again for a reason.
No doubt Gordon Ramsay would get hold of it and totally destroy it, personally I love Veal Holstein, Fish Pie, Pina Colada, and celery and charcoal biscuits with my cheese board.
Wanted to dine near The Royal Academy so just a few minutes walk. A nice welcome and excellent service. I hadn’t been for years. Good ambience, maybe a tad old fashioned but that’s no criticism. Not trying to be something it isn’t. Proper service. Something for everyone on the menu.
Went for a friend's birthday. Fantastic service and great food. Staff were brilliant.
Wonderful as usual. We always enjoy coming to Langans, lovely food, drink and impeccable service.
Always attentive staff polite and friendly food always exceeded expectations
This was our first visit to Langans - it won’t be the last. Staff, service, food and experience was spot on.
Fantastic meal with my family including my 4 year old daughter. Staff were attentive and welcoming, great menu and food was delicious. I would highly recommend the profiteroles!
Have been eating at Lagans since the 80's, eating there is always a treat for the senses and taste buds. My wife and I enjoy every aspect of being there and equate it to visit an "old friend". Service is second to none, food is always excellent, prices are good and the wine selection is varied and at a good price. As ever they made our dinning with them memorable and a treat. Can't praise them enough... Nicholas & Gillian Remzi
Brilliant evening, good food and service, highly recommend
As always Langans was top class. Great service, great food and we had a theoroughly enjoyable evening, with no pressure on length of stay. This meant we leisurely enjoyed our three courses whilst catching up with old friends.
The meal was good, the ambience was also good and the service was very good indeed. We will return.
Excellent food, as always. Service charming and efficient.
Simply timeless ! The menu doesn’t change much but I mean that in a good way. Good food cooked and presented well.
We celebrated my mother’s 70th birthday here and we were blown away at the level of service. We had previously eaten at Langans before and it always exceeded expectations. We also had our 5 year old daughter with us and we were made to feel very welcome.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The bar served cocktails and we were given time to enjoy these drinks before being seated. The food choice is extensive with various sides.
Simply love this place. Never ever fails to impress.
Excellent service and welcome. The staff are friendly and attentive
I required a gluten free meal. A comprehensive list of all dishes on the menu was supplied to me showing gluten and all other allergens in each dish. I was disappointed to find there was one starter and one main course that were completely gluten free.
Langan's comes up trumps again very good food, good service nice ambiance and a super evening, all you can ask for.
A favourite restaurant, which never fails to please, Langan’s has a welcoming and unpretentious ambience. The service is courteous, helpful and never hurried. We enjoyed a glass of fizz, whilst selecting from a varied menu, to please all tastes ( check it out on line.) My sister, niece and myself chose garlic poussin, which had been boned, served with a jus and our chosen sides of frites and spring greens. This was accompanied by a sensibly priced (for London) bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, poured for us at regular intervals, by our attentive waiter. We finished off the meal with the cheese platter, whilst my niece had ice cream, with, in her words, a ‘delicious’ chocolate sauce. A lovely evening, in a great part of London.
We've been dining at Langan's Brasserie for over 20 years but after our meal on Saturday night, we probably wouldn't rush back.
Waiter was very slow in taking our order and our main course we couldn't fault. Had the Grand Marnier Souffle for dessert and it was very heavy, more like a cake consistency, not like a soufflé should be at all.
When we came to pay the bill it already had the service charge added which was approx. £30.00. The waiter said the service on the bill was mainly for the chefs and head staff and hardly any goes to the waiting staff. He then wanted us to leave a further tip just for him !! We paid the bill and he left the empty black wallet on the table "just in case you'd like to leave anything more for me" !!
Don't know if he was just trying his luck but to be honest, it left a very sour taste.
Very disappointing food, poor value for money. Felt it was aimed at tourists with its reputation and menu content. No wonder tourists find London eating expensive.
Warm professional welcome.
Fabulous pre dinner drinks.
Food and service of exceptional standard.
We will certainly return.
Langan's never disappointed. Very happy with staff, food, ambiance, etc. Very happy to highly recommend.
It was an early-in-the-day Saturday booking as attending a theatre matinee but staff managed to create a good vibe with their attention and sense of fun. Menu is classic brasserie but well-presented. Mid-range prices but good value
Always good, we’ll worth a visit. Sad that the little jazz combo is no longer there, it always rounded off the evening so we’ll
As alway absolutely spot on! Never rushed always made to feel welcome.
Second visit to Langan's, both visits were fantastic. Had the Bangers and Mash this time around (worth trying) service was great, atmosphere was buzzing. Definitely my go to restaurant whilst in London
As always from a friendly welcome you are looked after so well by the service staff. The menu is extensive and the portions are good. I have never had a bad or even average meal in Langan's ad is a firm favourite with my family and business contacts alike.
Always a great experience. Wonderful ambiance and staff who really know how to be efficient while knowing how to engage without interrupting. Food classis.
I have been eating at Langan's for over 20 years and have never ever had a bad meal. The service is excellent and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommend.
We all had Dover Sole - everything was delicious apart from the bill which caused hiccoughs on account of the Dover Sole-ness. Next time we’ll have Northern soul!
The food and service were good but the ambience is very noisy. Langan's however, is getting very expensive - lunch for two, including the cheapest bottle of wine and no steaks came in at over £170. I will think carefully about alternatives in future.
for 20+ years I have dined st this restaurant
always attentive service
always good food
always a good atmosphere
what else do you need?
Traditional brasserie. Menu sufficiently varied. Food well presented with excellent service. A bit of old England. Nice business lunch in a relatively discrete section. Quite a bit of background chat as it seemed to be fully booked but not a problem. Likely to return.
All services were of a high standard but I thought the overall price tag of £390 for four people was a little on the high side.
As usual Langan's provided a lovely venue and lunch for our quarterly business meeting . Great service and food with no interruptions or a feeling we were being rushed. This place is always full when we eat there it must be good!
Excellent meal in a fun and relaxed environment. Good food and wine accompanied by first class service. It’s the first time we’ve been back for years and we’ll make sure its not so long next time.
Second visit. You no that the food and drinks are excellent. Loved the cocktails. Only comment on negative side was why ask what the occasion for the visit and no mention of it at time. Would definitely recommend family/friends to pay a visit.
