Renowned for its warm greeting and super friendly service, the Brasserie's Anglo-French cuisine has been a favourite with a star studded clientele that has included Frank Sinatra, HRH Princess Margaret, Mohammed Ali, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, and Diana, Princess of Wales.
The interior is full of distinctive artworks and the restaurant has been a regular haunt of emerging artists including Francis Bacon and David Hockney.
The brasserie menu features traditional British dishes like Langan’s bangers and mash, cod & chips, and potted shrimps. The spinach souffle is a must. Among long-running London restaurants, Langan’s is a star.

Lovely wholesome food
Knowledgeable old school waiter who was really helpful.
Be there many times and never disappoints
Dined on Friday at an exhibition at RA. Despite booking the table in advance, despite the restaurant being empty when we arrive, despite asking to get a nice table the host at the door with a big fake smile gave us the worst table by the waiters’ counter. That ruined the evening ...am only guessing the host judged by the accent, assumed we are lost tourists.... we live in Marylebone.. so used to nice restaurants. The water of the table however was very nice. Food however very mediocre.
Excellent as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food as ever excellent, ambience great. However, the service this visit was utterly appalling. It was slow, the waiter staff gave no attention and we left frustrated and feeling as if we didn’t receive the value a voucher provided us (we left without coffee as an example)
Langan's food is enjoyable - but truthfully we only booked because we wanted to see Fay Presto's table magic act (on a Thursday) which is superb !
But as a diner we were kind of abandoned by the different servers.
Friendly but erratic service - took forever to get seated, despite having a table reserved. Had to chase up as we had been put in the bar area to wait. 40 mins later we eventually were at our table.
Really lovely lunch, table by the window, attentive staff, buzzing and busy but not noisy. Had a great time, not rushed by the staff at all....my meal was lovely, but secretly wish I had ordered the fish pie!
Lovely lunch at Langans with friends .
Enjoyed Steak & Kidney pudding with dauphinoise potatoes and minted peas .
Just as good as it has always been.
A fine reputation, justly won and maintained .
Warm and friendly atmosphere. Menu a good combination of old favourites and new options. Excellent service and good food and wine at a fair price.
I have been going to Langhams for over 30 years.
I have recommended to many people, it’s my favourite restaurant
Fabulous as usual
This was the first time I had visited the Brasserie for many years. It was a treat for two of my former work colleagues/friends for a recent & a forthcoming wedding. We were not disappointed. Friendly, attentive service without intrusion. The menu causes difficult decisions due to the extensive choice and does not disappoint when it arrives-British fayre at its best.
Thank you for a wonderful evening.
An iconic venue which continues to deliver excellent food and service.
Absolutely amazing restaurant, never had a bad meal here, been a family favorite for many years. Food amazing and so were the cocktails! The service was professional and friendly. They even sang Happy birthday for my mum and bought a dessert to the table with 'Happy Birthday' on it. Thank you so much for giving my mum an amazing birthday meal!
We had a family get together and Langan’s was perfect. The food was good, the atmosphere was perfect and a long birthday lunch was enjoyed by everyone. We were welcomed and felt looked after without being ‘hovered’ over. Thoroughly recommended.
This is a superg restaurant, both informal and elegant, at the same time, with excellent food and attentive, friendly staff. We came with a bottle of very good red wine, and they only charged a small amount for corkage which was very helpful.
A nice ambience and just right for a central meeting point in town to have a family meal. The birthday dessert was a nice surprise. Well worth the visit.
Lunch with colleague. Food and service excellent but the noise level was terrible. Felt like we had to shout at each other
Classic restaurant with nice busy ambience. Food and service were great and look forward to returning soon
A beautiful, calm, spacious restaurant in the middle of London. No course was rushed, the waiters were superb and the food excellent. We all had fish dishes - fishcakes and the Langan's fish pie - both of which were beautifully seasoned: simple yet extremely tasty. The petit-fours and coffee were great too! Highly recommended and good value, especially for that part of town.
Langan's has always been my favourite place to go, I love the atmosphere, the food is amazing and the service is usually second to none. The only thing that slightly soured this visit was our waiter being slightly surly and not hearing when I ordered crème brulee or confirming back what we'd ordered so I didn't get my favourite dessert.
Excellent experience enhanced by the food, ambience and the service
Absolutely fabulous meal. The waiter was very attentive & friendly. The food was delicious especially the spinach soufflé with anchovy sauce & the beef wellington. The wine was exceptional.
Great food fantastic staff this restaurant never lets me down
This was a highlight for me as I had always wanted to dine here. We arrived early and were shown to the bar which was a little disappointing. Although we had a lovely gentleman serving us, the area was underwhelming. Although we were told we would be called to our table we had to chase this up. The restaurant was only about half full, but it was nicely laid out and we had a nice view of the whole room. The meal service was top notch, and couldn't be faulted. The food was divine. We had specifically gone there to have the calves liver and bacon, and it didn't disappoint in any way. It was scrumptious. My companion had a wonderful red wine, a Montepulciano which was as smooth as silk. It was nice that the wine could be ordered in a decanter rather than having to order full bottle each. We had a lovely evening, as good as I hoped it would be. I think we were pretty much the last to leave, but we were not hurried in any way. I am looking forward to having the chance to go back again.
Always a great atmosphere with grown up staff who are happy to share a joke.
Food is always fantastic
The cost was reasonable considering the location. I have eaten there many times in the past and the quality remains high.
One of London’s hardy perennials - a classic menu, lovely flavours and service that’s discrete but attentive. Can’t lose!
Great place for lunch. Seems to have regained some of its old magic!
Our 40th Ruby wedding anniversary. Myself, husband & 2 adult sons. I had visited a few years ago with my son & hoped to return. This time we felt Langan's would be the perfect restaurant to celebrate together, especially as they do Dover Sole which my husband was looking forward to having.
Needless to say he got his wish & thoroughly enjoyed it. They even asked whether he would like it taken off the bone which isn't usually asked & how he would have wanted it anyway.
I had the swordfish with mixed veg & my sons had a fillet steak, all plus extra veg. It all tasted perfect that we were going to pass on the dessert feeling so full. However hubby & boys shared the salted caramel profiteroles which fortunately came with 3 & were yummy..
At the end whilst waiting for the bill, a waiter brought over a plate that had been decorated with some berries & pieces of choc & a coconut chocolate with 'happy anniversary' written in chocolate. It was greatly appreciated.
So including some drinks plus 12.5% service charge the bill came to £233.27p. The staff were friendly & attentive.
The only negative comment is the breadrolls which are very crusty. My husband wears dentures and found them a bit too hard to eat at times.
This is certainly the place to come to celebrate a special occasion for us & we hope to return again. Not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for = quality food.
Thank you Langan's...!! Heather & Martin
My favourite restaurant. Fabulous food, great service. Always made welcome. Will be back soon.
Amazing!!!! Would defo recommend and if visit London again will book to re visit! Can not describe how good it was!
Visiting London. Friend’s recommendation. Great place.
We love it here. The whole experience is always great
Lovely surroundings, fabulous menu and delicious food.
The service was unobtrusive and impeccable.
Used to eat here 30 years ago and have been back again twice in the last few weeks for lunch and dinner. Staff are very relaxed and friendly, but not intrusive; food is great if you like good French brasserie style; and it's a very nice airy room with interesting pictures. I'll be back soon.
I am biased because it's my favorite restaurant and always have a good time, good service etc
Excellent food and service as normal.
But placed on table by entrance which was very noisy and constantly knocked in back
of head or chair kicked every time someone went past. Noise level wasn’t conusive to business meeting/dinner. Never had this problem before it was just down to location of table.
Quite simply the classiest most relaxed dining experience in London.
