Renowned for its warm greeting and super friendly service, the Brasserie's Anglo-French cuisine has been a favourite with a star studded clientele that has included Frank Sinatra, HRH Princess Margaret, Mohammed Ali, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, and Diana, Princess of Wales.
The interior is full of distinctive artworks and the restaurant has been a regular haunt of emerging artists including Francis Bacon and David Hockney.
The brasserie menu features traditional British dishes like Langan’s bangers and mash, cod & chips, and potted shrimps. The spinach souffle is a must. Among long-running London restaurants, Langan’s is a star.

Langans doesn't change; it's a very relaxing place to enjoy good food in a friendly atmosphere.
We were looked after fabulously by Dominic our waiter. He was polite and very humerous! We had a wonderful day
Noise level to the point of nearly unbearable, the echoing of it all
Always love visiting this restaurant
Never disappoints and the food and service are great
A bit of a throwback in time, but I think that’s why you’d go there. Lovely room, excellent service and very good food. Exceptionally well priced as well. The artwork is something to be seen
We have visited Langans 4/5 times over several years and there has always been a good atmosphere and attentive and friendly service. Main course delivered too quickly this time and the fish was over cooked but otherwise an enjoyable experience!
Another return to Langan's. A little perplexed on arrival all of the pre-meal drinks table were taken by it seems not diners? Registered our arrival, but did become a "free for all melee" people just walking in and taking tables as they wished. Np control by the bar staff. However the meal as usual was great, good service and another enjoyable night.
The best brasserie in London without question. Service from professionals, menu so easy
Always very good. And was again. The staff are always cheerful.
We have literally been going a lot to Langans and each time it gets better. Nothing else to say. Fabulous.
Fabulous food and great service. Even recognized my friends birthday and presented her with a Happy Birthday Dessert. Amazing customer service. Love this place.!
Had the liver and bacon. Superb. Caesar’s salad to start and it was great.
Superb evening with first class waiters running the show!!
We were slightly late for our booking due to traffic and the staff were so accommodating, offering us a drink before being seated. Gorgeous food and lovely atmosphere
I've been going to Langan's since it first opened in 1976. So, it was no surprise that my wife and I went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food is always superb, the staff are always attentive and friendly, and there is always a great vibe in the restaurant. It's our favourite!
The only reason for recommendation is earlier expericences. This experience was not good, but we have had good experiences with the restaurant before.
Fantastic! Langans never disappoints
Thank you once again for the experience
Great ambience, tolerant and attentive service. Very good quality food, well prepared and served.
Have eaten here for 40 years - it gets better!
Fun and superb traditional food - great evening
Group of 7 who regularly if many years eat at Langhams, however on this Oct we all thought the food was quite poor. Anaemic French fries, every side order if veg was excessively oily and over cooked and all decided not to return in the future.
Great fish pie and house red. But we had a different waiter for every order which is distracting.
I love the ambiance, the service and the food - reliable quality and friendly staff.
Prices very steep, though, as one would probably expect in central London.
I wanted to prove to my husband , who had had a bad experience two years ago, that there was still a ‘magic’ st Langan’s - and there is!
I have been eating at Langan's Restaurant for over 30 years and it is still the best Brasserie in the City of London.
Great staff attitude, great service and wonderful atmosphere.
It's always a pleasure
In terms of appearance, Langan's remains the same, attractive, interesting building it ever was. The food, too, is varied and tasty. My better half, a vegetarian with gluten intolerance, had a generous risotto. I had the day's special of roast loin of pork. We had an Antoine Olivier Bourgogne Pinot Noir which at £46 was one of the more modest wines. Which it was, but we expected that. Our table, however, having booked last minute, should not have existed. It was one of those stuck in a thoroughfare, irritating the waiting staff, other guests and of course ourselves. The waiting staff were irritated and irritating, obviously from the school of maximum profitability. Our tap water - in glass, not jug - was never refilled. Our wine was immediately refilled generously "another bottle?" Our bill at £113 for 2 (for one course each and a light red) was very poor value. I'm sure business lunches and stag/hen parties can still have a jolly time here, but I remember when service had charm; and there are still many places in London which do.
Excellent meal for wife's birthday including birthday plate and waiters singing 'Happy Birthday'. Negatives - some delay before clearing plates after main course. Do no like looking at dirty dishes. £12.50 for vodka and grapefruit??
Second time to this Restaurant. Good choice of food from Menu, ambience very nice and staff very efficient. Ideal for all occasions.
I requested a quiet table for 2..this was dealt with well, but being put furthest away from everyone else, meant regularly forgotten about. I was also charged for 4 covers, despite booking for 2, but only realized afterwards..I thought this, as well as poor food (very greasy, skin on sauces), just made a visit I was looking forward to, a vastly overpriced & hugely underwhelming experience..I wouldn’t recommend!!
Unfortunately my fish was very dry and the portion small. A great disappointment.
Very enjoyable evening with good food, plenty of choice and flexibility to customise dishes to particular taste.
Service was attentive and efficient without being obtrusive and pre dinner drinks were made pleasant by helpful and good fun interactions with the waiter.
As always a fabulous dinner with superb service and wonderful atmosphere ...a firm favourite and highly recommended !
Amazing service, menu and food. I told them it was a birthday dinner for my twin sister and I, and the Langans staff brought us happy birthday plates with Petits Fours and candles and sang to us! I had an a amazing soufflé, a great pie and the wine selection is fab, whether you want a bottle or just a glass. Best G and T for a long time, too. Langans is a bit like stepping back in time and the restaurant was nicely busy. No one looked rushed or hurried along and the waiters had time for everyone. I will be back!
Had a lovely meal on Saturday evening, hadn’t said it was a special occasion but our waiter asked me and then brought up a lovely desert to share with ‘happy birthday’ on it. Everything was perfect. My only disappointment was that the Dover sole was taken off the menu and I had been looking forward to that!
A lovely ending to a perfect day at my favourite restaurant. Definitely recommend Langan’s. Food is excellent, prices are reasonable and service is excellent,
We loved this restaurant. Had heard so much about it, as my father used to come in the 80s and would have the bangers and mash! Lovely menu and the food was excellent. Great ambience, with several noisy groups of diners, but we thought that added to the atmosphere. Our only criticism is that our wine waiter had obviously been outside to have a cigarette before he brought up our wine - the smell of smoke was not pleasant! Aside from this, we are certainly looking forward to returning.
Had a very good Saturday lunch and atmosphere was really good and the service was excellent.
Absolutely great dining. Excellent experience across the board; I would call it an English landmark. Very much a London joint.
We went to Langan’s for my sisters Birthday and had an awesome evening starting from the time we stepped in the restaurant. An amazing evening. Thank you Langan’s
Eaten here many times and always been good. This time was terrible, allowing drunk loud mouthed man to holler & shout around a table whilst not even eating. Totally ruined our £250 meal!! When mentioned to the maitre d' they really were not bothered in what I had to say.
The places was soulless, no atmosphere at all... disappointing
Langans rarely lets you down
Proven once again for lunch on Friday
And this will not be the last visit, of that I am sure
