Renowned for its warm greeting and super friendly service, the Brasserie's Anglo-French cuisine has been a favourite with a star studded clientele that has included Frank Sinatra, HRH Princess Margaret, Mohammed Ali, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, and Diana, Princess of Wales.
The interior is full of distinctive artworks and the restaurant has been a regular haunt of emerging artists including Francis Bacon and David Hockney.
The brasserie menu features traditional British dishes like Langan’s bangers and mash, cod & chips, and potted shrimps. The spinach souffle is a must. Among long-running London restaurants, Langan’s is a star.

A nice ambience and just right for a central meeting point in town to have a family meal. The birthday dessert was a nice surprise. Well worth the visit.
Lunch with colleague. Food and service excellent but the noise level was terrible. Felt like we had to shout at each other
Classic restaurant with nice busy ambience. Food and service were great and look forward to returning soon
A beautiful, calm, spacious restaurant in the middle of London. No course was rushed, the waiters were superb and the food excellent. We all had fish dishes - fishcakes and the Langan's fish pie - both of which were beautifully seasoned: simple yet extremely tasty. The petit-fours and coffee were great too! Highly recommended and good value, especially for that part of town.
Langan's has always been my favourite place to go, I love the atmosphere, the food is amazing and the service is usually second to none. The only thing that slightly soured this visit was our waiter being slightly surly and not hearing when I ordered crème brulee or confirming back what we'd ordered so I didn't get my favourite dessert.
Excellent experience enhanced by the food, ambience and the service
Absolutely fabulous meal. The waiter was very attentive & friendly. The food was delicious especially the spinach soufflé with anchovy sauce & the beef wellington. The wine was exceptional.
Great food fantastic staff this restaurant never lets me down
This was a highlight for me as I had always wanted to dine here. We arrived early and were shown to the bar which was a little disappointing. Although we had a lovely gentleman serving us, the area was underwhelming. Although we were told we would be called to our table we had to chase this up. The restaurant was only about half full, but it was nicely laid out and we had a nice view of the whole room. The meal service was top notch, and couldn't be faulted. The food was divine. We had specifically gone there to have the calves liver and bacon, and it didn't disappoint in any way. It was scrumptious. My companion had a wonderful red wine, a Montepulciano which was as smooth as silk. It was nice that the wine could be ordered in a decanter rather than having to order full bottle each. We had a lovely evening, as good as I hoped it would be. I think we were pretty much the last to leave, but we were not hurried in any way. I am looking forward to having the chance to go back again.
Always a great atmosphere with grown up staff who are happy to share a joke.
Food is always fantastic
The cost was reasonable considering the location. I have eaten there many times in the past and the quality remains high.
One of London’s hardy perennials - a classic menu, lovely flavours and service that’s discrete but attentive. Can’t lose!
Great place for lunch. Seems to have regained some of its old magic!
Our 40th Ruby wedding anniversary. Myself, husband & 2 adult sons. I had visited a few years ago with my son & hoped to return. This time we felt Langan's would be the perfect restaurant to celebrate together, especially as they do Dover Sole which my husband was looking forward to having.
Needless to say he got his wish & thoroughly enjoyed it. They even asked whether he would like it taken off the bone which isn't usually asked & how he would have wanted it anyway.
I had the swordfish with mixed veg & my sons had a fillet steak, all plus extra veg. It all tasted perfect that we were going to pass on the dessert feeling so full. However hubby & boys shared the salted caramel profiteroles which fortunately came with 3 & were yummy..
At the end whilst waiting for the bill, a waiter brought over a plate that had been decorated with some berries & pieces of choc & a coconut chocolate with 'happy anniversary' written in chocolate. It was greatly appreciated.
So including some drinks plus 12.5% service charge the bill came to £233.27p. The staff were friendly & attentive.
The only negative comment is the breadrolls which are very crusty. My husband wears dentures and found them a bit too hard to eat at times.
This is certainly the place to come to celebrate a special occasion for us & we hope to return again. Not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for = quality food.
Thank you Langan's...!! Heather & Martin
My favourite restaurant. Fabulous food, great service. Always made welcome. Will be back soon.
Amazing!!!! Would defo recommend and if visit London again will book to re visit! Can not describe how good it was!
Visiting London. Friend’s recommendation. Great place.
We love it here. The whole experience is always great
Lovely surroundings, fabulous menu and delicious food.
The service was unobtrusive and impeccable.
Used to eat here 30 years ago and have been back again twice in the last few weeks for lunch and dinner. Staff are very relaxed and friendly, but not intrusive; food is great if you like good French brasserie style; and it's a very nice airy room with interesting pictures. I'll be back soon.
I am biased because it's my favorite restaurant and always have a good time, good service etc
Excellent food and service as normal.
But placed on table by entrance which was very noisy and constantly knocked in back
of head or chair kicked every time someone went past. Noise level wasn’t conusive to business meeting/dinner. Never had this problem before it was just down to location of table.
Quite simply the classiest most relaxed dining experience in London.
Great ambience and excellent food as usual! Service also great as usual!
Great food, atmosphere and service. I’d love to have a really good look at all the art work on the walls Always a great place to people watch.
Spinach soufflé is always a winner
Been here a few times but the food tonight was outstanding, service was incredible, always a brilliant atmosphere, and will definitely be back!
Brilliant night, fantastic food and a great atmosphere!
Haven't been there since early 80s but still great well done crew
Have visited before. Always feels special bit of old world charm and nostalgic for us. Enjoyed our meal but the restaurant was very noisy, so much so that the waiter misheard my husbands order. It is expensive but obviously we new this and will probably go again.
Langan's never fails to impress. The food is excellent and the ambience like a warm hug. No request is ever too much trouble and the staff are extremely professional but understated. There is no other place I would return to as frequently and be happy to do so and indeed always look forward to the experience. Would recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy quality food and a dining experience that makes you smile with appreciation.
The best thing is the ambiance. We took out time and no one hassled is . It is expensive and although it was good it was not outstanding
Lovely meal, super service, great ambiance... I’d not been to Langans for years and came with my husband and daughter - I’ll be back again soon - we all loved it.
Langans is always an elegant and fun night out. Great service, good food, history and class. They really care about their clientele. Highly recommended.
Favourite restaurant great food & staff very comfortable & welcoming never lets you down A
I have been coming to Langan's - for business and pleasure - for 40 years. It was always special and I thank you for having retained that familiar excellence; so important in an ever-changing world.
Langan's is a must! Reasonably priced for such luxury. Try The Caine.
Calves liver was dry ! And the noise levels very high ! Everything else spot on !
Fabulous as ever. Unhurried wonderful service and delicious food.
Excellent overall, as always
Excellent and reliable food and service with a great atmosphere and we had a lovely relaxing time there.
