Langbourns is always a favourite and a safe bet, but my lunch companion and I had a somewhat odd experience at lunch yesterday. We ordered the Cote du Boeuf from the menu to share, and our server said she'd have to check with the kitchen. She came back and said that it would take some time to prepare 'at least an hour'. We said we weren't in a rush and that we could wait for an hour to which she replied 'actually the chef can't do it, it takes a lot of preparation' We both ordered separate steaks and moved on but it would be good to know if the Cote du Boeuf needs to be ordered in advance (this hadn't been the case on previous visits). Not particularly a big deal but disappointing to not be able to order something off the menu for reasons that were not at all clear.

Although we went for a 50% off menu special, the Ribeye Steak was 40% fat and gristle. One was also cleared microwaved. The Children’s linguine was regular spaghetti and served in a bowl totally inappropriate for a child.

When I asked you if everything was to your liking, you didn't mention any of this or ask for a different small bowl for your little boy. I can assure you that our steaks are not microwaved they are grilled and come from a wonderful Scottish butcher, Gilmores but had you of brought this to my attention when we were talking, I would have been able to rectify this for you immediately. I went for lunch on a Saturday and the food was incredible and the service was excellent. A big shout out to Sandesh for knowing what's on the menu and recommending an amazing main dish, which I am still thinking about. Atmosphere was fantastic for a catch up with my aunt. Overall amazing.

Chose the restaurant to celebrate my wedding anniversary & notified the restaurant as such.....no acknowledgment of this from the staff. Service was very slow & the table provided was right next to some doors. Based on the wait for the main, we decided not to have a dessert. However, the food we had was excellent & the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere......

A really lovely restaurant with a varied menu. I would prefer that they didn't pre-dress the oysters but this is a minor quibble for an otherwise lovely meal. The wine list is reasonably priced given the location and quality.

First time visiting Langbourns and I'll definitely go back. The restaurant is lovely inside, the staff were attentive but let us get on with it, the food really was delicious and we had an amazing bottle of wine. We went on a Wed lunchtime and it is a popular place, filling up quickly so you should definitely book. Really enjoyed it.

Amazing experience at Langbourns, we initially couldn't find the restaurant but we called and a member of staff kindly came and collected us! Went here for a business meeting and ordered from the Al la carte menu. Food was very good, ordered scallops and salmon tartar for starters and the sea bass and crab burger for mains. Service was good also. Nice ambience.

A Saturday lunch with half price mains and cheaper cocktails is good value as the restaurant had only 4 tables occupied while we were there. Its location is good but at the back of Leadenhall Market so may not get much passing trade. We had 4 different main dishes which were very good and even their normal prices are good value. The meal can become more expensive with sauces and sides although they were well prepared and tasty. The wine list is on higher side but in line with other establishments in the City of London. Excellent, friendly service. Would recommend especially Saturdays

Very slow service considering there wasn’t many people in the restaurant. Food was 3/5, basic with not much flavour. They compensated us with free cocktails however we were slightly disappointed with the whole experience and will most likely not return for a 2nd time.

Overall the meal was fine & service was good however because of the time we were dining (4.00pm) we were the only people dining for 75% of the time we were there so it was slightly strange. Oysters were nice especially as they were half price.

We had a late business breakfast - the food was outstanding! The restaurant is classy with beautiful decor. Our waitress was quick and on the ball - one small gripe...she could have been a bit friendlier - but she could have just been having a bad day, so we'll give that a pass ;) We'll be back - stunning food!

First time visit - won't be the last. My guests all thoroughly enjoyed the lunch - lovely space, friendly team and really good food. The only 'neg' being the booth table layout for a group of six, if all six people had turned up it would have been a bit of a squash and not totally conducive to a proper roundtable chat. Apart from that - a lovely time had by all.

Food was excellent, but the service was incredibly slow, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. We were having a business lunch and it took nearly 2 hours to get through 2 courses, and our order was not complex or difficult. We were also rarely attended to and empty plates were left uncleared for long periods of time. Disappointing overall, and it was a shame as when the food did come it was delicious. The vegetarian/vegan options were also pathetic for a restaurant in 2023. One of our group literally had one option to choose from for starter and main, and this needs to be improved.
