L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele
food was amazing. That said, things come out at very different times - my dining partner was done with his meal before mine arrived at the table. Our waiter was very pleasant, so not knocking his service, but the timing needs to be refined or clearly explained at the start of the meal.
We dined here with a group on our way to a show in LA. Food was fantastic! Excellent service and impressive wine selection. This will be on our list of places to eat when in the area. Our only suggestion would be to add a few very simple kid friendly pasta/pizza items. Looking forward to coming here again in the future!
The best pizza ever, hands down!
Usually I do not write a review, but we are impressed by the food and overall experience. This is arguably the best pizza in LA! The ambience is comfortable, good for dating as well aa friendly to family including the little ones, exactly what we expect from high end Italian restaurants. Very glad to see such a great place in neighborhood
I got together with 4 of my girlfriends for dinner and took them to my favorite restaurant, L’Antica! It was all their 1st time and they loved it. Also, our dinner reservations were for later in the evening but they were able to accommodate us by moving it up. Great food, great drinks & great service - can’t ask for much more!
Everything was delicious from start to finish - the Diavola Pizza is pretty much perfection!
A come back place !!
Way overpriced. Lovely ambiance, with plenty of space between tables, easy to have a conversation with your party which is very rare in most LA restaurants. The pizza is pretty large with good ingredients and excellent tomato sauce, but the dough stays too soft and “flappy” for my taste. Crust and bottom were also burnt. Fried calamari were average and chewy, Tiramisu was very good, Torta della Nonna average. Service HAS to seriously improve for the level of prices they charge. But to their credit, they offered us a dessert for the unusually long wait on one of the pizzas. Sorry, but I don’t think I will go again...
Best pizza in town
Absolutely the best ever
Have been here w couple of times. Great spot for an upmarket pizza and good cocktails. Great vibe that is good for friends hanging out or a celebration or a date.
What an ambience!!! Very nice and professional staff!!the food is ok.
Great courtyard in the back. Great space all together.
Great pizza! Excellent caccio al peppe
Definitely recommend it
The food is amazing!! I love it! Our server was super sweet but overwhelmed. The “manager?” Never smiled, had a terrible attitude.
I do love the look of this restaurant, however the food for me left a lot to be desired. The pizza was so gooey, the toppings all fell off of the "crust" when I picked up a slice. I had the short rib pappardelle as well and it was just okay. A little too sweet for me and barely any short rib in it. The server was nice, but so slammed with the entire patio to herself that we had trouble getting her attention a few times. We didn't blame her for it, we've all been waitstaff before, but it would've been nice to not have to get up and find someone to help us every time we needed something. The reason I'd still recommend this spot is the ambiance is especially lovely for brunch and thinking perhaps maybe I just didn't order well and this type of pizza just isn't my thing. They have many other options on the menu that I feel like it's worth a second visit.
Had the most wonderful lunch! Delicious food and great service.
I went there with a couple friends and all of us loved the place! The restaurant is beautiful. We sat down in the patio and we felt like we were somewhere in Rome.
The pizza was delicious and the wine was great! Very friendly stuff too.
Loved the food, the space, the ambience and the service!
Love, love, love this restaurant. The pizza is fantastic - better than any pizza you'll find in LA. Huge pie, amazing sauce and just the right amount of cheese. Apps and pastas are great too and the desserts are amazing. Great patio dining too!
This was my 3rd time here and it was a little off this time. We were rushed to order several times, we asked that our salad come as a starter then have the entree and both came at the same time- when we said we wanted the salad first the server just shrugged his shoulders. Food still good, but the menu had changed so maybe other things on the back end had too.
We had a nice Friday night date night here. It was our first time. It was obvious that some people had been there before (or is that Italian manners) to treat people like family! I’m not sure if he was the owner but he came by and said hi to us and greeted us. The tables to both sides of us received similar greetings, and one of them even got free dessert at the end of the night. That’s nice of them. Wine selection was great. We were on the back patio and not the main one that everyone talks about. They accommodated us switching tables because I was cold and another table had direct access to one of the heat lamps.
Great atmosphere and food was amazing. The manager came over a few times to check on us which was a nice touch. Definitely will be going back
Last year, I visited Naples and ate at the original restaurant which looks like a whole in the wall from the outside. The original restaurant serves only two types of pizza. I finally came here to compare the flavor of the Margherita pizza with the pizza in Naples. The pizza tastes the same, so it brought back the flavors of my summer vacation. I had a salad, pizza, and dessert. I can't recall the name of the dessert, but it consisted of pizza dough with sugar and cinnamon stuffed with chocolate, and it was served with ice cream. I highly recommend the dessert. The restaurant's decor and layout are very appealing. There is a nice ambiance created by the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. I definitely will come back to try more items on the menu.
What a great surprise this restaurant was! Everything was amazing. Service was good, staff was very friendly.
The desserts are to die for! They have parking across the street for $10, you need to have it validated however. But really really excellent food.
Kudos to the kitchen, excellent food. Hipster staff on cell phones was laughable. I had to eat at an outback steakhouse for a convention two days later and we thought, maybe restaurants like L'Antica should make the front staff do a year at outback before being staff. We had excellent service at outback, food was, of course, marginal. The opposite at L'Antica. I will go back for the food but with low expectations of service. A funny comparison I know.
Lovely patio and amazing food. The owner is very nice as well. Second time there.
The food was amazing! The pizza and pastas were both fantastic...fair price great overall experience!
Had an amazing experience. Hostess remembered me from a few weeks ago and we were seated in the back patio area. The owners and staff checked in with is throughout the night and the food/pasta was delicious. For dessert I liked the hazelnut ice-cream
We had a mixed tables of Italians and Americans and we ere all equally disappointed. The dough has little to do with the authentic pizza from Naples, it's dull, soggy and hard to digest. Appetizers were not bad, but the pizza experience was definitely average.
One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life. And I’ve been to Italy many times!
A must for Italian food lovers!!
Brunch: brunch pizza /porchetta/ eggs + mixed cheese/meat board in a lively outdoor patio, heaters , Partly Sunny at lunch. The Food was delicious, service attentive.
On the pricier side of brunch. Will return for Dinner !
Beautiful and pleasant staff.
I rated this restaurant 5 stars with reservations. It is a pizzeria and as a pizzeria it is truly excellent. I cannot remember having a better pizza anywhere in my entire life. It was past excellent. The Caesar salad was also excellent but we ordered linguini with white clam sauce and that turned out to be a mistake. The pasta seemed homemade and was equal in quality to the pizza. It was also cooked perfectly but the sauce was so bland it was just about tasteless. The pasta was surrounded by clam shells but all but three were empty and the missing clams did not find their way into the sauce. Final word. If you go for a pizza and salad you will have a fantastic experience. Other dishes pose a risk.
Great food! They asked us to move from our table to accommodate another party and said dessert was on them. We never got the dessert! But, we saved calories!😀
Three times in three weeks. Outstanding? For sure
The quality of the food here is really, really, excellent. The service runs from adequate to help yourself. The patio is large and during lunch there's often no one in sight. Having to get up to find a server for salt and pepper is disruptive to one's enjoyment of the dining experience. Also the cost of the food here is kind of ridiculous. $30 for an arugula and prosciutto pizza? Really? Yes really! Three scallop appetizer is $28! Deliciously served on cauliflower puree and truffle, which should really be a 4 letter word. Truf off! Having said that, the salads are fantastic and good value and the pizza is just hard to beat....anywhere
We love this place. We are at the original in Naples and were eager to try the new one in our neighborhood. Everything is delicious, the pizza is heaven. Not tour typical American pizza, it’s Naples all the way, the kind of pizza you eat with a fork. The pasta and appetizers are all great too. It’s a gem.
B day with my family, amezing place All very welcoming and friendly! I love it!!!!
The staff was genuinely nice from the minute we walked in. The pizza was delicious and homemade tortellini, divine! If I lived in LA, I would frequent there weekly!
