No words!! Just fabulous! Everything was so delicious and well thought of! We enjoyed being able to see the food being cooked in front of us. We loved the presentation, the colors, and of course the taste! Everyone was so nice, respectful, and welcoming! Loved every bit of this gastronomic Experience! Will recommend to anyone visiting New York who wants a culinary experience that is out of this world!! Thanks to everyone who took care of us that night we enjoyed every bit of it! The highlight of our trip!

I took the Evolution menu with 10 different dishes. It had 3 outstanding dishes, 2 good ones and quite many which were average at their best. Some dishes tasted like they forgot the seasoning.

I would say it was definitely one of the best meal I've ever have. Servers are all very friendly and responsive, and I enjoy the open-kitchen setting where I can watch the chef and his crews preparing the food. Each course brings the flavor of all the ingredients together with a delightful touch. And I was lucky to be invited into the kitchen and talked to the chef which makes the dinning experience even better.

Every dish was superb! I had the scallop dish, poached lobster, zebra tomatoes and more. The preparation was simple and the flavor combinations were subtle and perfectly balanced.
A wonderful seat facing the kitchen to watch the making and prep. Little surprises throughout the meal made the experience unexpected. From the stemware to the service platters, the presentation of the food was an art.
Staff and chef were friendly and engaging. Everyone works hard, but seemingly without effort, to ensure a quality experience.
Thank you to all for a truly memorable meal!

I made a reservation and specified that it was for a special occasion for guests from out of the country. No one at the restaurant told me that everyone is encouraged to sit at the bar, which is not formal, or that the restaurant was going to close early that night and my reservation was their last one of the night. As a result, we showed up, we were led to the bar to sit, encouraged a few times to sit at the bar despite us asking for a table and appearing hesitant, and all the guests looked a bit uncomfortable and surprised. While we were conversing and trying to get caught up with introductions and how things have been with everything that made that occasion special, we were repeatedly interrupted to ask to place our orders - for drinks, for the meal. Finally a woman walked up to say, we are closing soon, it is an early night for us, and you are our last order; the kitchen needs to know what you want. I could hardly believe my ears.

The restaurant was also pretty empty, which made it less appealing.

All in all, except for the breathtaking aesthetics of the food, everything was quite a let down - the environment, the service, the portions, the flavors. If it wasn't for the company being so wonderful and magnanimous and the conversation being so lively that nothing could ruin it, the whole night could have ended up as an unmitigated disaster.

We sat at the counter and had such an amazing culinary experience. The food and service express so much passion, skill and personality which is hard to find in fine dining restaurants. Every dish kept getting better. The beef and foie, rabbit and the dover sole were some of our favorites. Thank you to the staff for making our night so special.

That was one of the best (top 10) meals I have had in my 30-plus years in the hotel and restaurant business!!! Everything was exceptional!!!

A month ago I dined at THE JR restaurant in the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and this food every bit as GREAT as the food there!, if not better!!!

The restaurant is at a great location and atmosphere is nice and quiet even if part of it is under renovation. The food was absolutely superb, well seasoned, and had wonderful texture. The desert was made to perfection, and the presentation was spot on. For anyone asking for where to go for a fine dinning, I would recommend this restaurant in a heart beat.

We had the special priced fixed dinner. The portions were minuscule, but delicious. The prices were outrageous and the waiter was snobby, putting on airs. They could have the same food without all the drama and give customers a fair price.

Bar-style seating with a direct view to the kitchen and chef's team
We were seated at The Grill's Bar as we arrived early and had a pleasant drink and chat with the waiter. At the time of our booking, we were welcomed to our seats at L'Atelier and introduced to the extensive wine list (mostly imported, predominantly French) and tasting menus. We chose the 5 course flight without the accompanying cocktails and we were taken on a journey of flavours and colours, particularly surprised by the 'caille farcie au foie gras' and lobster soup. Rather bland chocolate dessert and beetroot entrée. Overall, service was the missing element that could have made a difference; due to bar style seating, there is no intimacy and heated conversations transpire rather casually into the evening, be it the chef swearing at his staff over burnt mushrooms or a loud gentlemen's stories of his conquests from 3 meters across the room. Bill at $450 + $50 tip (customary)

This dining experience was everything I was hoping it'd be celebrating our anniversary. From start to finish each course did not disappoint. We did the summer tasting and added a few small plates that were recommended by our waitress. Every dish that came out would elevate our senses/taste buds. Our favorite dishes were the poached lobster, wagyu rib cap, roasted sweetbread, and scallop carpaccio. Every dish was memorable which is tough to say in opinion when doing tasting menus. The food was extremely consistent and would get better as the night progressed. My wife and I have a top 10 and top 5 for restaurants and this was quickly climbing into the top 5 with each course, ended in the top 3. Hats off to the Chef Bellanca who took command of his kitchen and put out some of the finest food my wife and I have tasted. The plating was a thing of art. The service from our waitress and the whole staff was extremely professional. The ambiance and décor inside was beautiful and our waitress told us it changes for the seasons. Overall, counter seating is the way to go here and just enjoy yourself/selves as this will be a wonderful dining experience that will expand your palate. Well done L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon!
