Arrived at restaurant notice on door closed for a week why did open table allow us to make a booking and why did restaurant not inform us. Would not go to restaurant or use open table.
We had an excellent Italian meal - food quality really good, interesting variety of choices, beautifully presented, good wine list, staff delightful. Great choice for couples or small groups. Location is great for west end - short walk from Oxford Circus or Tottenham Court Rd. A must visit for this area
We had a very enjoyable lunch at Latium. Both the food and the service were of excellent standard. Latium provides relaxed as well as formal atmosphere although lunch time is quite busy. Lunch & Pre Theatre Menu is very good value. Will visit again.
The food was absolutely amazing! The price is really affordable for such a high end quality food.
One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. And definitely in my top 10 restaurants... and I’ve been around a little, as I’m really into fine dining.
I've been to Latium now on several occasions and it never disappoints. Food is excellent, service efficient and discreet, the room is comfortable, and noise levels not problematic. I will certainly go again.
We went for the special menu which was only available until 6.45 but one of our party was late but they kindly let us choose from it, The food was imaginative in flavours and beautifully presented with the portion size just right leaving room for a delicious pudding. The service was attentive but discrete.
This is about the 4th time I have been here and every time it exceeds my expectations. The staff are friendly but not intrusive, they are knowledgeable about the food and wine they serve.
The food is superb - the chefs are fantastic.
My only concern with my review is that if other people read it - I may have to book earlier than last time to get it. :-)
Even my Italian friend says that its the only Italian Restaurant he'll go to in London - I think that sums it up perfectly.
Haven't been to Latium for some time. On my last visit, just after they had lost their chef Morelli to Margot, I was disappointed as a customer of long standing, they seemed to have dumbed down everything. Having gone back, I was pleasantly surprised, as they seem to have got their mojo back. The food was excellent, the staff pleasant and the service first rate. I had the octopus to start and my wife had the aubergine, both were excellent. We shared some amazing ravioli and then for main course I had the osso bucco and my wife had the guinea fowl . Again both were excellent. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food. Will now definitely go back.
Such a lovely evening and wonderful staff. The food was all delicious (especially the tiramisu!) and they have a really well priced lunch/early dinner menu. We ordered a la carte and even though we had a gift card, they still gave us 20% off food. A perfect evening and we would love to go back.
Three of us went there for a Birthday treat on a Saturday evening. The food was exceptionally good and a nice wine list to compliment it. A somewhat limited menu as far as choice was concerned, but we all chose something different and all meals were excellent quality. Would definitely go again. :0)
The food as always, was some of the best in London, with good service and excellent value. The venue could do with an update. All in all, an exceptional meal.
This was the first time I had dined here at lunch time. Loved it. Much better ambience than in the evening and, of course, much better value.
This was my second visit to Latium and both times I have found the food to be very tasty and nicely presented. The staf are quiet and unobtrusive. Would highly recommend.
The second visit to Latium was always going to be a difficult act to follow as the first one was fabulous........but Latium did not disappoint. It was equally as good second time round. All three courses delivered excellent presentation with fantastic flavours, quantities were spot on. Looking forward to the next one THANK YOU
Really enjoyed Latium. The lunch and early evening menu is exceptional value, and the quality of the food is really very good indeed. Recommended
We thought this was an excellent find with very good authentic food served in a convivial atmosphere. They were also able to accommodate a food intolerance without difficulty from an interesting range of choices. All four will definitely return.
I have eaten here frequently. The food is always good but on this occasion I chose 4 separate wines from the list and each were unavailable. That was very disappointing. Overall it was expensive as we had to chose alternative wines but food is good and staff pleasant.
This place is a gem - wonderful, delicious but unfussy Italian food in a welcoming atmosphere with thoughtful service. The tables are not stuffed together either so you can actually talk in a relaxed way. Highly recommended.
This is my favourite Italian restaurant in London. The food is superb - very high quality, subtle, delicate, and delicious. The pre-Theatre menu is something of a bargain for food of this quality. Really recommended
Latium always provides excellent food and a really good wine list. Staff very attentive. Excellent place close to Oxford Circus and surrounding area
I’ve eaten at Latium twice now. The cooking is top flight and a sommelier is on hand to advise on the excellent selection of wines. It is quite formal and consequently the service, whilst very professional feels a bit cool. It lacks the buzz of other west end restaurants so possibly better suited to business meals or a quiet date.
I especially liked the Piedmontese Bonet - a new dessert for me! Thank you
So helpful with our requirements, very friendly and courteous and the food was amazing!
Very tasty food and wine and a very prompt and amiable service.
Delicious and beautifully presented food! Cannot recommend enough - will definitely be back!
Latium was perhaps a little rougher round the edges this time than normally — perhaps it has changed hands? Was slightly disappointed to see that the ravioli specials, most of all the wonderful assorted fish ravioli starter, had disappeared. But the food was still very good indeed. Wine list also as good as ever, though rather over-priced.
Great pre Theatre (and lunchtime) set menu, and great wine list
Friendly and welcoming staff. Freshly made foot and good value in a prime location.
Their lunch and pre theatre menu is outstanding value, with a good choice in each course, Boned quail was delicious although the bresaola was a bit tired. Oustanid lus of Italian wines, although none available by the glass. Because it's a bit off the beaten track Latium is wonderfully peaceful, you can have a quiet conversation rather than having to shout.
I shall continue to go back there.
Very friendly service. Great wines (and knowledgeable sommelier). Very decent food.
Perfect pre theatre Saturday lunch
Very good set menu, very good service, excellent wine by the glass
Most enjoyable experience
Excellent food and wine, extremely professional staff, attentive but unobtrusive. Still one of the best Italian restaurants in London. Authentic Italian food, not anglicised.
Great service and excellent food
Latium seems to get a very mixed bag of reviews. I was looking for a place with an interesting and good value lunch menu to meet up with some old friends and we all found the menu appealing with a good range of choice and all the dishes we tried were very good. It was very nice to have a choice of all the a la carte desserts on the lunch menu and the ones we tried were all excellent - especially the Piedmontese bonet (a chocolate and amaretti biscuit flan). Wines are reasonably priced (with many available by the glass at very fair prices) and the Sicilian white of which we ordered a bottle was very good.
I have never had to pay before for the privilege of a waiter to knocking-over a full glass of wine all over my shirt and suit and then be expected to pay for that wine !
A replacement glass of wine-No
A discount on the bill or an offer to clean my suit-No chance.
Go somewhere else if you value service and fairness.
We arrived, it was lunchtime. In total there were six people including us in the place so it was not busy and there was no excuse to not get great service. I told the waiter we had booked via open table and asked which of the two menus he had given us we could order from, he said both. So I assumed that meant the 20% offer off food applied to both. Yes I could have checked my phone for the offer details but I was with a friend and we were having a good time so I just asked instead. Wrong move. We chose off the set menu, the starter fish cakes was delicoius, the hake and pasta for mains was acceptable but nothing special. So the bill came and no 20%. The waiter ended up getting the manager LUIGI GAUDINO. Well he comes over loud and proud so I asked him to lower his voice and he said that was the level of his voice and he could not change it. When we explained what happened, he said the offer has been on for years and I am the first customer to say anything about it not being clear. I explained I understand I had not read the offer and that was my mistake but I had specifically asked the waiter which menu I could use via open table and he said both. The manager was not interested. He then said he would take off the service charge. I pointed out this was optional and I would not have paid it anyway as the service was terrible. He said 99% of people do pay it. I told him I would not be returning and he was he could not have cared less and rode off on his high horse. Out of 27 reviews this is the second terrible one so I am not in the habit of making things up. This is a honest and accurate account of what happened. My friend had come all the day from Derby after two years, it was a special lunch and not a great experience. Shame but we still had a great day and did not let LUIGI the manager spoil it!! however I would not return to LATIUM.
Imaginative and varied menu of unusual specialities, eg tender boned quail on bed of lentils, perfectly cooked and presented, preceded by generous plate of bressaola on bed of salad. Delicious desert of strong chocolate Bonnet "pudding", thankfully far removed from English connotations of this relic from schooldays. Faultless unobtrusive service. The best of Italian cuisine, with not a pizza in sight.
Georgous food with excellent choice and very good non intrusive service. Liked all the dishes we chose and good that you coul see the ingredients on the plate I'd not all mixed together . Food is very seasonal and high quality . Very good ambience is not over formal and yet the meal feels special . I think good value for the high quality of food . Definately will return .
Excellent food, OK service but let down by the appalling lack of atmosphere, felt like sitting in an old office with extremely harsh headache inducing lights - set menu is excellent value - the 7.50 gin (which is only beefeater) is not.
Unfortunately the poor ambience would stop me from either recommending or returning
Food and service was better compared to chain other restaurants like Presso, Ask Italian etc.
But need to do lot more on both service and food to get a michelin star
