Laurent at Café Royal
Laurent features an array of newly designed areas including booths and views of either elegant Regent Street or the grand hotel lobby with a spectacular Murano glass chandelier at the centre.
International influences are evident across the menu where the finest cuts of steak, fish and seafood are prepared on the open grill; whilst sushi masters prepare inventive sushi, sashimi and raw fish at the sushi bar.
The bar offers a wide selection of wines from both new and classic regions with a focus on the French 'regal regions', alongside cocktails and fine spirits.
A perfect meal from start to finish.
Wonderful experience of fine dinning in exquisite Art Deco surroundings.
Great unobtrusive service.
The food is contemporary & innovative. A choice for most palates.
We found the wine rather costly though & the one we chose a little indifferent.
That apart, the whole visit was delightful. Seeing Ziggy’s bar was an added extra
for a David Bowie fan . A real treat.
Food was perfect. Tasty. Well presented
Service was good.
It was expensive ( for us) £175 for 2 including 2 cocktails. But for a treat - was just perfect.
Lovely restaurant would definitely go again. Food was great.
Always a great place to eat and such a beautiful property
a Nice restaurant for a birthday celebration
Bon restaurant , très bonne qualité des produits (viande Angus) bon rapport qualité prix pour le centre de Londres , service impeccable
We had such a lovely evening. Our waitress was brilliant and was great at getting the food out to us quickly when we told her we were going on to the theatre. The three course early evening menu was excellent value and the food was delicious. Loved the decor and ambiance in the restaurant and we'll definitely come back.
A very good food !
Amazing restaurant! Staff very attentive, sushi was incredible, great modern twist on each one. When for 30th birthday, would highly recommend!
One of the finest meals we have had, everything about it was superb. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
had to google "onglet steak". tough cut so I ordered medium. my friend ordered medium rare. too tough so sent it back to be re-cooked.
both starters were excellent. I found it difficult to understand the person waiting on because of her accent.
we had two course set menu. I suspect the a la carte menu would have served up better fare. we had a drink in Ziggy's bar before our meal. very nice.
Very nice restaurant. We had sushis as a starter then steaks. Everything was very good.
I really loved the bread served with butter! I recommend for special occasions.
We had an amazing lunch at Laurent and would definitely come back again. The Yorkshire Puddings given before your meal are to die for!
Excellent food. Excellent service. Very nice restaurant and bar.
Came here with my sister. We really enjoyed the food and service here. I had the beef ribs which was cooked to perfection it was so delicious i had so much food i couldn’t order dessert lol. My sister had the king prawns and they were huge. She really enjoyed her meal too. We both loved our evening there and would definitely return. The service was great. Everyone friendly and helpful.
Good food. Outstanding service. Great ambience. We will definitely recommend your restaurant and looking forward to seeing you soon!
Accommodated 5 of us and we all enjoyed the evening. Extensive cocktail menu!
Overall we enjoy the dinner, the service was very attentively, also very nice welcome atmosphere you feel real welcome, to stay for your dinner. We had only two small issue, they use no table set, in this case it would be absolutely necessary to clean up the table between starter and main courses and dessert, we feel not very comfortable. Also for the espresso it would be nice to offer an open sugar selection, sweeter, and not packed.
I was recommended the beef ribs and it arrived warm (not hot) and it was extremely fatty. Really was the worst dish the waitress could have recommended. Do not have the beef ribs. My colleague had a steak and it looked good and he was happy with it but mine wasn’t good at all.
The French fries were amazing though
Very attentive service, very good food and excellent wine
Despite us having a early reservation and plenty of tables available they gave us the table in front of the kitchen door so we had constant movement around us. We booked for the January menu but it wasn’t presented to us, we had to ask for it, to which the answer was well did you book it? Yes if you looked properly you would see we did. It was begrudgingly given to us. A lot of fuss about nothing but didn’t create a good vibe for the evening. The starter and steak main were fine but nothing special. We had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was disappointing. It was covered with banana slices not mentioned on the menu which didn’t really compliment the pudding and served with a brandy sauce, again not a normal accompaniment and made it taste like Christmas pudding which is the last thing you want in January.
It was nice but there were some flys that kept interrupting our meal which wasnt pleasant. the sushi and starters was amazing but dessert took over 40mins to come after an issue with the tickets and was very heavy/dense flavours.
The service was impeccable, the food amazing and the little touches of brilliance make Laurent one of my favourite London restaurants. Would highly recommend!
Met up with friends at Lauren. Perfect! Excellent food (The onglet steak was the highlight.) Attentive staff and great service. Minor niggle that the seats were a bit low for taller diners.
Incredible food. Highly recommend
Beautiful setting, wonderful food and cocktails. The one star mark down is purely because the steak clearly wasn’t the weight as advertised. For someone that cooks steak all the time mine would have barely been 5oz and that’s being very generous my husbands was a third bigger and yet we had them cooked the same way. With such a visual difference and clearly a weight difference they shouldn’t have left the pass.
I really enjoyed the excellent service and friendly staff .
The food and ambiance was outstanding !
Definitely will highly recommend to my friends as a must go for a wonderful and memorable day out!
High quality food matched with service and setting to match
Food was excellent for the price paid (we were on a 3 course plus champagne for £39 deal). Sides were extra and of course service on top of the whole bill, but we weee happy to pay that. Couldn’t really fault the food or service, but I found the restaurant a tad odd in layout as it is around a central open space in which you can see all the way to the ground floor, so at times felt uncosy and like we were in a corridor. That said, the hotel is beautifully ornate and we had a good table.
Lovely service from the door to our waitress. The ambiance was lovely in the main area, we were sitting with the bar behind us. Had the 3 course set menu with champagne which I thought was very good value for what we got. The nonconventional bread offering was yummy, and the complimentary petit fours were also amazing! We were so full by the end!
We each had a supreme time on New Year Day. Exceeded all expectations. Our new favourite place
One definitely not to be missed 🙂
My partner and I spent New Year afternoon here. It has a beautiful setting amazing food and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back.
At arrival there was a couple ahead of me and they had been standing waiting for a while unattended.. I went past them to go find someone inside to seat them and then me. Apart from my guests who were already at the table, there was only 2 other tables... so not sure why so slow. My guests had also asked to move tables due to being right under a spotlight. Was not offered the set lunch menu I booked the table for. (did get a glass of champagne tho) Complimentary bread was delicious. All 3 fish starters were nice. We all had burgers (medium) The burgers were overcooked and tasteless. As far as burgers go, probably the most bland I've ever had. Really disappointing as it's hard to do a bad burger, and especially at this price point. Won't go back.
Really good value for the set menu. £39 for 3 courses, champagne and bread and chocolate.
great dinner, friendly staff, nice location. Would recommend
Total impressed. Food was outstanding, service was impeccable without being over the top.
Excellent food and service. The steak is outstanding and the chocolate and peanut butter pudding is amazing .
