Great value - we had the set menu as pre-theatre. Beautiful food, interesting mix of cuisines and great presentation. Portions were modest but fine for early dining. Wine was lovely but not much choice under £30 a bottle. The building is a renovated Art Deco marvel, complete with old-fashioned lift and stained glass
Loved everything. Will go again!!
Delicious food, great service and sophisticated interior to set a good ambience. Definitely will return to try more of their food!
Quality food and service was second to none
I had a very pleasant noche at Laurent. One of my favourites in London.
Amazing food and even better service, couldn’t recommend more highly
This was my second visit to Laurent and was, again, very positive. Walking into the Cafe Royal from Regent Street feels like entering a beautiful oasis. The refurb is amazing. Getting to Laurent takes you up sweeping marble stairs and into a very intimate space to eat. The restaurant ambience is very calming and is conducive to business or social dining. All the restaurant staff greet you as you make your way to the table - a nice touch which makes you feel welcomed and that you matter. The food was delicious and beautifully presented; fresh sushi and perfectly cooked steak. The drinks selection was also extensive. Service was friendly, efficient yet unobtrusive. I woule definitely recommend and am looking for my next reason (excuse!) to go.
The food was amazing
Bit of a disaster!! Went for Sunday Lunch set menu inc Bellini cocktail to celebrate wedding anniversary. NO Bellinis were offered and there was no Cote de Beoff on menu offered (I had screenshot of the advertised menu showing this) so not a good start. The waitress did ask the manager and we were allowed the Sunday roast beef. It took a long time for her to input our drinks and food order into the computer and she rechecked with us multiple times!! We were eventually served 2 STEAK and CHIPS (2 ordered the cod), waiter took all food away and came back to explain there was no roast beef on set menu so we then had whole convo about the previous waitress (nowhere to be seen by now) had checked and that yes we could have it. Very professional waiter then profusely apologized, and reordered all the food, he then told us the white wine was on the house. Eventually had the meals served, my roast was delicious but my husbands beef was just a whole lot of fat, at this point he just ate what he could! The 2 cods were small but good. Very few people in restaurant, no atmosphere, horrible music too loud so we decided against a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary at end of meal and went elsewhere. Would NOT return,
Delicious food, great service, but didn’t realise it was at a hotel when booking, and it definitely lacks atmosphere because of it. Still very good experience, just wouldn’t recommend for a special occasion.
A really lovely place for dinner and the staff were fantastic, friendly without being in your face and warm and accommodating. The food was very good and the deal we had was good value for money. The wine list isn't cheap but that wasn't a surprise.
The open table deal seems to have diminished in portion size over the last year and no longer comes with a Bellini included. The food is still good quality - just less of it!
I went to have dinner and it really was an amazing experience from the wonderful scallops to the great chocolate tart.
I went to Café Royal with three other women and we all had a very pleasant time. The food was well prepared and well served. Waitress service was excellent. We were not hurried and felt that we could really take our time. I'm sure we will be back in future.
Excellent overall experience. Great food for a set menu. Nice, light tomato salad starter with perfectly cooked cod for the mains. Waiter provided great service for the evening throughout. Was seated outside of the main room which was the only let down, otherwise a well polished meal and great evening.
Waitress very rude and unfriendly. Sat there for over 10 minutes in quite an empty restaurant without being served so left and went for breakfast elsewhere
Lux setting in recently revamped first floor of the Cafe Royal. Our party of 5 were seated slightly strangely at one end of a very long oval table that could have seated 12 comfortably. Other tables were regular seating. Food was amazing- delicious steaks, fabulous sushi (best eel nigrini), wagyu carpaccio etc. Plus very good wine recommendations from the sommelier. All in all excellent evening for a special occasion, just be prepared to dig deep.
Truly delicious food in a casual bar area. Octopus was special.
The Laurent had a good ambience. It is a small intimate venue. The set menu was good value and service professional.
Stunning location, beautiful venue, lovely high quality food and service. What’s not to like!
Amazing as per usual, great service beautiful place, loved it
We wend to celebrate a special occasion and the atmosphere and food wre excellent. I would recommend anyone to have lunch or dinner there
The decor and menu were nice and the staff friendly but it’s not got the service level right for the price point and its links with Cafe Royale. Food ok Yorkshire pudding bread and the coffee were the highlights l spinach with the COD was flooding the plate with water. Cocktails arrived well after the food even though it was very quiet. Main course was delivered but no cutlery, several staff went past including the manager but no one checked we had to ask for cutlery. We had finished wine in our glasses but they were not topped up we had to ask twice I’d rather they leave the bottle at the table if they are not paying attention. Several different staff came with dessert menus despite us already declining and ordering coffee. More training needed.
Outstanding services and delicious food ! Recommended 👍
The food was sublime, one of the best meals I've had in a long time! Service was outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful as is the hotel. It was my birthday and dining at Laurent was an absolute treat!
We were surprised how good was the level of the food for what's a set meal and found the price fair/good value relatively speaking for a West End Restaurant. A most delightful find and we will certainly return.
A great little find off the busy Regents Street. Nicely decorated. Great service. Food's not bad too. A little pricey but maybe I will try the set menu next time and see what's that like - the people next to us had it and it looks good.
Fantastic food, location and service.
What a wonderful evening all around.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The food, service and the ambiance was top notch. The set menu was lovely and an excellent value.
The staff, especially the Australian gentleman was so personable and connected well with us.
We will definitely be back!
Amazing food in a wonderful location!
Staff were perfect - attentive and welcoming but at the same time gave us space.
Between us we tried a lot of items from the menu and everything was wonderful, with the attention to detail and individual ingredient tastes and combinations just lovely.......
Excellent ambience - excellent food and great staff . A lovely evening a great place right in the perfect location .
THE staff Was really TOP !!!
Food excellent - choice excellent, wish I'd tried the sashimi but the cornish crab was great.
Wonderful dover sole - maybe just a tad overcooked.
Bar service was slow - I think becasue only one person at the bar doing cocktails as well.
Food was lovely and the service was exceptional. We took our 3 year old and the staff was fantastic with her
Best pre-theatre dinner I can remember. Excellent food and ambiance, and service was measured but assured we would get to the theatre on time. Strongly recommended. Sushi looked excellent too.
Having read reviews and spoken to other friends about Café Royal, I wasn't really sure what to expect. However, I was blown away by the opulent yet welcoming interior. The staff were friendly, yet professional and understood we were after a relaxing dinner. The food was absolutely 5* and good portioned for a restaurant of such calibre, a friend we dined with remarked that the sushi was "the best in her life". Would dine here again for sure.
Lovely environment, great value for money, wonderful service and quality food - a hidden gem in busy regent’s street
The experience was exactly as one would expect from such restaurants. Comfortable, comforting, welcome, pleasant, polite and relaxed but most attentive staff. Drinks were on top, wines definitely not overpriced. The food was something to come back for, as we are already planning.
Really wonderful meal and top notch service. I had to eat quickly to make it to the theatre on time, and the staff did absolutely everything to accommodate me. Will be back!
It was a very lovely experience and excellent atmosphere and ambience. Services for the waitresses are second to none!
