   Spur of the moment booking but very glad we did. Food and service were excellent. Only problem we had was that we were staying in a hotel near the top of Steep Hill and Lawson's is nearer the bottom so getting back was a bit of an effort! That's not the restaurant's fault, though. Would definitely go again.

   Booked on internet recommendations. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Good, wholesome plates of food, along with efficient service and pleasant atmosphere. Slight mix up with the main order was dealt with quickly and professionally. No complaints whatsoever, and would definitely visit again.

   It’s not often we have sought out the chef to say ‘thank you’ but we did after dinner here this week. Both the 12 hour cooked Beef Blade and the Lamb Shank fell off the bone with the use of only a fork. For the Blade to be brought to the table as a well formed single cut of meat was in itself a feat, being that tender, it was art on a plate. Well done chef.

   As always, excellent food and service at Lawsons, the team are attentive, but not annoyingly so. The Food is freshly cooked, and as one of our party is gluten free, there were lots of options for her which is a bonus. 3 courses thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately for us, there was a party of 8 next to us, which made it difficult to hear easily across the table. Not the fault of Lawsons though, just made it a bit tricky to talk easily.

    Lawson’s lunch menu is excellent value for money, & it’s great that you can also have it early evening. High quality freshly cooked food cooked with flair. One of our group is a coeliac, the manager came over and talked her through which dishes were suitable. It would be useful if this information was also on the menu.
