Amazing food. We absolutely will be returning when we come back to Edinburgh
We would have given 5 star ⭐️ but being asked to pay by cash at last minute without wary was a bit off putting.
Great food, great location and great value. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants enjoy a little bit of France in the centre of Edinburgh.
Lovely food. Excellent service and we were given one free sweet.
An excellent lunch with great service. Will certainly be back.
Really wonderful meal. The fresh mussels were exceptional. The staff are friendly and attentive. Probably our best meal in a long time. Will definitely return.
Excellent French food in the heart of Edinburgh. Good pre booking availability.
Good mooning. I shall review dis only once. Le food say super et le waiters friendly in a French way. Le competent.
The bill was a say le one hundred British pounds which was a little expensive but le tasty. I am an evil revolutionary and I turn him into ... 👏👏 pate.
The food was correct, however, the menu prices reflected on OpenTable were higher in the restaurant, which was rather disappointing as we booked through OpenTable, the staff made no effort to adjust this, what would have been the fair thing to do, but the service charge was added to the bill with no hesitation.
Good food, great service at a reasonable price. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Fabulous patisserie selection. Nice wine selection.
Amazing, been here three times in 3 weeks for different occasions and phenomenal every time.
Had a lovely meal with fantastic service, it was my sister’s birthday and the staff very kindly gave us a bottle of Prosecco which was lovely! It really made her day. We will definitely come back!
Good value set lunch with sufficient choice including some French classics. Food was tasty and well presented. Tap water was provided without asking. Service polite and efficient.
Covid regulations were being observed. We were very happy we'd chosen this restaurant to meet up at.
The restaurant is adjacent to the French consulate in the Royal Mile, and has a pleasant interior. It was fairly quiet when we went, though we had booked in advance online. Sea Bass was on offer on the board on the wall, but I was told "only at lunchtime", so I chose salmon instead. The meal was nicely presented and good. My wife chose the beef stew, but couldn't eat the meet since it was stewing steak which had not been cooked long enough, and needed a lot of chewing. We swopped meals, and I was able to eat the meat. I agreed that it was not cooked properly for this cut of meat. The flavour of the sauce in which is was cooked was very good, so I didn't complain. My wife mentioned it to the waiter afterwards, and he offered us complimentary cake, though I was not impressed with the cake. The choice of sweets was very limited to cake or ice cream. Where are the delicious fruit tarts that the French make such as Tarte Tatin?
Good value lunch menu...and very agreeable staff!!
Out for a 21st at Le Bistrot, due to it being a late cover a number of the menu items were out, which would normally be a bit irritating but the staff went to such lengths to make sure our evening went well that we genuinely were not phased. Lovely evening topped off with some delicious pastries and a round of tequila, we'll certainly be back.
Fantastic independent restaurant. Lovely setting/ambiance.
Consistently great! Wonderful team of people looking after us. Food & wine superb. 5*
Our last visit here was in September 2020 and there weren’t too many diners around. It was lovely to be back in a buzzing restaurant with excellent service. The food was very good, just our choice of mains wasn’t available but our second choice was very good.
Would recommend…excellent food and service. Nice atmosphere in restaurant.
Excellent food and service. Was delighted to be back.
The food was delicious and the overall experience very pleasant
This place never disappoints, great selection of food, brilliant service and pretty reasonably priced. I highly recommend Le Bistrot.
Relaxed atmosphere, with friendly staff. Service excellent. Good choices on the menu.
Great food and service. Very impressed and sure to recommend!!
We had a fabulous dinner at Le Bistrot.
Food was delicious and the service was excellent. I recommend it!
Our first night in Edinburgh and we had a lovely meal with great service.
The food was delicious and a good range of dishes
Great food, great staff and overall a very pleasant experience.
Extremely friendly staff and great food!
We are 1 hour 15 minutes into our dining experience and yet to receive any food other than a basket of bread…..you get a bit beyond hungry in the end….
Good menu with plenty of options. Tasty food at reasonable price.
A lovely escape from reality - felt like stepping into a bistro in France. There were a few items unavailable but I suspect that’s a reflection of the times we are living through rather than a reflection of the bistro.
Very enjoyable dinner!
We will certainly be back.
To try the mussels!
Lovely place with great French cuisines, they run specials each day and the price point is pretty good for city centre. Service was friendly and relaxed, team did well to handle a large number of tables which came in after us.
Great Food, Friendly and Welcoming staff, Relaxed Atmosphere, Going to make it my regular.
Half the menu choices were off at 7.30pm. Food was nice but not special.
Never disappointed with Le Bistrot. The food is just perfect and the staff are always lovely and friendly. One of my favourites.
Our lunch at Le Bistrot was wonderful and everything we expected. Service was fabulous, the food was delicious and the ambience was just right. We will definitely return soon.
Service was efficient but relaxed so we could enjoy our meal and conversation. Food was good.
Le Bistrot never disappoints. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The staff are attentive without being intrusive and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend that you give this restaurant a try and am sure you will be hooked!
