Great service and food, pleasant ambience- would definitely recommend
Had an amazing meal here last night, staff were so kind and attentive! Delicious food and drinks with a casual atmosphere.
Table service was excellent the servers were very professional and entertaining. Beautiful layout of a restaurant makes you feel you’re in France. Dog friendly which is a 10/10. And of course the food was tremendous, we got the calamari Fritz to share and beautifully cooked lamb shank aswell as a linguine pasta cooked in king prawns. Amazing would 100% return
Delicious food, generous portions and friendly staff
Great food, delicious champagne and wine, attentive service and a good atmosphere
It was OK, my starter of salad caprese was disappointing with a lack of flavour.
My fish was OK, bit oily.
Had better meal in Le Bistrot.
A balmy Wednesday evening at the restaurant was very pleasant although not so much for the waiting staff having to wear masks. Not as busy as I’d expected given the number of people around the Royal Mile. Food is always good here; we were too full to try the tempting desserts!
All round first class, from the perfect service to the fantastic food.
Delicious lunchtime snack, rapid service and very enjoyable. Might try the set menu next time.
Visited on a recommendation and wow, they wee spot on! Great place and not to be missed :-)
Only complaint is very slow service. Long wait untill waiter came to take order and main arrived too soon after first course.
Most enjoyable food and very good value. Central location.one of my favourite lunch time venues
Great food, fantastic service and wonderful relaxed bistro feel to the place, thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will return next time we are in Edinburgh
Lovely food, and very obliging staff. The tables are perhaps a bit close to each other, but all protocols are in place, so follow the rules and enjoy this place.
Everything was great, from service to food.
All 3 of us really enjoyed it and will definitely be going back
Fantastic service, food and wine, would highly recommend!
I’m a regular and always enjoy . I’m usually a lunch man . It’s more expensive at night and a bit pricey , however am fully cognisant of the difficulties the industry has faced in the last 18 months and am pleased Le Bistrot has survived the disasters of the last several months.
I ordered the mussels twice and they were not very good. The manager came to the table and agreed that they were not right! He was very nice and offered some desserts and a drink of amaretto. While the gesture was nice I do not think I would return. It may have just been a bad day ?
Good French cuisine at a reasonable price. Great choice of gâteux and cakes. Efficient, friendly service. We look forward to our next visit.
My friends and I had limited time before an appointment. I have eaten here before and knew the service to be efficient and the food to be good. Yet again, Le Bistro and its staff did not disappoint!
Excellent service and the food was very generous and very tasty. I would certainly recommend this restaurant.
This was an exceptional meal. The quality of food was excellent and the size of portions was more than could be expected. I'll definitely recommend to everyone 😊
A lovely place
A little bit of parisien dining in Old reekie...what's not to like prices fair food fab!
Food was great. Service was fab! Recommendations given on request which were spot on!
Very good food and cheerful staff in a nice atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Overall, a lovely experience. Thanks to the attentive staff. Will return.
Always reliable and delicious food. Friendly and efficient service. Very good value for money.
Great food and excellent service. Wish we had found it sooner but will definitely be back
Good selection of food, which was prepared to very high standard, highly recommended.
We loved it - food was wonderful, bread and tap water brought to the table automatically which is great. We were celebrating a birthday and were were given a complimentary glass of Prosecco- a lovely touch. Waiting staff attentive but not intrusive. Nice ambience and atmosphere. We will certainly go back again.
The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. Lovely setting too.
Best food we have eaten in a long time. Lovely staff and nice ambiance in the restaurant. We even got a free dessert!
A midsummer evening visit and the restaurant was full and good atmosphere, food arrived promptly and was very good overall would recommend.
Excellent place- very friendly staff. We got a free dessert! Langoustine was perfect!
Very busy but really nice food and very attentive staff. Good choice at lunchtime and a really bustling atmosphere
Really friendly staff, good vibes, and great food !! And very accessibly priced esp for students !!!
Food is lovely, friendly staff. Service is quick which suited as popped in during lunch hour.
Never disappoints staff food everything is great, relaxed and feels as normal as possible at this time.
Enjoyed a lovely meal in The Bistro. Food very tasty and service very good in a lovely, cam atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
The staff were friendly and welcoming but unfortunately that was about it. The food was very average and the house wine very poor indeed. It felt like eating in a seventies restaurant before we realised restaurants needed to serve great food with good wines and great service.
