Lovely French cuisine It is a tourist spot but a very nice one I enjoyed the chicken and mixed salad Hubby liked his canard. The millefeuille was not traditional so that disappointed me . Layers were not flaky . No typical icing layer. Cream filling not typical vanilla crème filling.

The starter was v good but the main was tepid in temp, didn’t taste as if cooked that day and chicken was a bit tough and stringy so must have been re-heated. Shame as the service was v good and ambience v nice. A mirror in the woman’s toilets wouldn’t go a miss either. Really liked the layout and decor tho.

Great location. Nice atmosphere. Nick and team were excellent in the front of house. We were on limited time, and service was prompt and food presented in timely manner. Prep and presentation were good. Would definitely return and very happy to recommend!

We had lunch one day last week and returned for a late afternoon booking between festival performances on Sunday The service was friendly and effective, the food delicious. The cost was reasonable for the menu and quality. Comfortable and atmospheric room.

This was recommended by Waitrose magazine. Great food on The Royal Mile but hidden from the hustle and bustle of Fringe tourists. Loved both my Quiche Lorraine and Beef Ragout
