I booked a reservation on open table and had the reservation confirmed the day before. When my friends and I arrived I was shocked to see the restaurant was closed and had been for several days as there were old newspapers by the locked door. I was upset and embarrassed that my friends had traveled so far to experience what we had heard was an excellent restaurant. I expected that open table would have the latest information on restaurant openings and closings so I am disappointed by the poor service of Open Table and Le Cochon d'Or.

Despite Open Table sending me a confirmation e-mail the day before, Le Cochon d'Or had been closed for two weeks prior to our reservation, leading to a less than stellar experience for my 23rd Wedding Anniversary. If they are still giving the option to book a table, DO NOT DO SO! The restaurant is permanently closed.

This needs to be removed from Open Table. We got there and the restaurant has been permanently closed as far as we could tell. Disappointing as I wanted to try it for my birthday dinner.

This restaurant, and its sister, has closed. On the day of our reservation, we received an email informing us of this.

Came to a restaurant only to find out that it was closed for the night with no explanation and no phone call in advance. Disappointed, to say the least...

Forget about driving uptown Charlotte for an outstanding dining experience, its right here in downtown Waxhaw. Located at the former Heritage and Main Street Grill location, this is by far the best restaurant to have ever occupied this space. We just went there for our 39th wedding anniversary and it was definitely worth it. The chef put a special touch on every dish we ate. The mussels appetizer was plentiful and bursting with sweet mussels in a sauce you just had to dunk your bread into. The entrees were also amazing and in portions that allowed you to enjoy. Le Cochon d'Or is pure gold!

First visit last Saturday evening. The gazpacho was very good. The choucroute Garnie was outstanding. My wife really liked her salmon and we both loved the torchon de foie gras. So sad to hear they are closing. We would love to have returned.

Our visit for a birthday dinner with friends was terrific. The drinks and food were wonderful. A small menu with focus on local goods prepared in traditional French classics was excellent. Good service made the experience thoroughly enjoyable.

We've been here several times and the food is always excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It is a small place but unlike many places I didn't feel rushed. A nice choice of entrees and some unique options each night. I would recommend this spot.

What a find in Waxhaw, small French authentic restaurant with delicious food and warm service. The lamb with ratatouille was just divine and the chocolate soufflé is a must.

Always serene and enjoyable. A true auberge tucked away in charming little Waxhaw NC. Patrick is a delightful host and chef is too notch. Highly recommend, for any occasion. It’s a quiet gem of a getaway.

Finally a civilized restaurant where you can have a conversation without having to yell to converse. Great food and outstanding service. James our server was beyond accommodating to our requests, the restaurant is charming and reminded us of a small bistro in France. We will be back with friends. Thank you or should I say Merci !

Truly the most delectable and authentic French cuisine on the east coast. The flavors blended delicately and each bite was a fusion of perfection. From our appetizer to dessert the entire experience was an honest French delight.

In our first visit, we were pleased not to have to sit outside in he rain. It was packed due to Mother's Day, but they managed very well, although the service was measured. The food was very good. The oyster appetizer was 6 plump hot shellfish, perfectly breaded and fried. It and the duck confit appetizer were enough for an entree. But the salmon was perfectly prepared, and the steak and eggs very good. dessert was delightful, and the wines were perfectly paired. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Waxhaw, although we will probably stay closer to home and visit Aix en Provence sister restaurant the next time.

This was our fist time dining at L Cochon d'Or. Really tremendous execution of the food. Fantastic country-style French food - every morsel was delicious. Lovely romantic dinner. I wish it were closer, we would go frequently - Waxhaw is a long drive for us. But it was worth the trip.

We went on a Wednesday night, for our anniversary, so the restaurant wasn't busy. The service was excellent and the food was fresh and very well prepared. Eddy plays the piano and sings on Wed and Thurs evenings. He played a number of very special song to celebrate our anniversary. Overall it was a very special evening. Thank you Le Cochon d'Or.

It’s nice to have such a high quality restaurant in Waxhaw. The food was phenomenal. The Gnocchi with braised lamb was best we have had. The Cassoulet had perfectly cooked duck and beans. We won’t forget this experience!
