Le Cochon d'Or
Best French restaurant in Charlotte. The piano player was awesome and added to the ambiance. Will be back very soon!
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food and service are consistently excellent.
This was our first time and it was wonderful. It’s great to have a French restaurant so close to Charlotte.
Amazing food every time. Service is outstanding and it is a great little piece of France in downtown Waxhaw.
Amazing restaurant. Classic and simple French food that is expertly executed.
Great food, cozy, quaint atmosphere.
We went on a Wednesday night, for our anniversary, so the restaurant wasn't busy. The service was excellent and the food was fresh and very well prepared. Eddy plays the piano and sings on Wed and Thurs evenings. He played a number of very special song to celebrate our anniversary. Overall it was a very special evening. Thank you Le Cochon d'Or.
It’s nice to have such a high quality restaurant in Waxhaw. The food was phenomenal. The Gnocchi with braised lamb was best we have had. The Cassoulet had perfectly cooked duck and beans. We won’t forget this experience!
Great restaurant, especially for a midweek get away.
Great salmon. All food items were excellent.
Definitely a great experience the waiting staff was all on top of things I'll definitely be going back
Amazing good, excellent service. We went with a couple who spent two weeks in France last summer and they said the food was better than anything they ate in France! The chef came out to the table to check in, the waitress was incredibly honest and helpful in picking out drinks and wine. The chocolate soufflé is something dreams are made of. The scallops were seared perfectly. The risotto was amazing. And the foie gras... I have never had it so good. (And we lived across the street from a French restaurant for many years in NYC so we ate it a lot!) check this place out. You can’t go wrong.
Excellent chef. The menu is limited in number of choices but all four of us ordered something different and everything was done superbly.
Quite and cozy was great for conversation. I gave this a five on value not because of price- it’s not cheap- but because of flawless execution.
Absolute gem in Waxhaw, it was a great experience, food divine, service top notch, we even made another reservation for their cooking class coming up.
Extremely good food and wonderful service...
Perfect for an intimate evening with your partner or spouse. My wife absolutely love coming here, everything is always perfect, from the service to the food.
What a delightful dinner and experience. We loved our meal- had the beef short ribs with noodles and triggerfish in a lemon butter sauce. Can’t decide which we liked better- both were equally delicious. The sauce with the fish had perfectly cooked haricort verts- green beans— what a great combination. I loved it. We also had the chocolate soufflé dessert- the cream poured over the top of it- wonderful! Oh, our appetizer, the endives with a melted blend of cheese we may not be in a hurry to order again. The endive left us a little confused. But we sure didn’t leave any cheese on the plate! It was a meal to be remembered!
World-Class dining right in the heart of Historic Waxhaw. Amazing!! Will be back for certain.
A true gem of a restaurant. Exquisite food, imaginative selection of entrees. Attentive, knowledgeable staff. Owner on site. Reasonably priced for 5 star dining experience. Celebrated my mother-in-law’s 87th birthday and she could not have been happier. My new CHARLOTTE area favorite.
Our first time at Le Cochon d'Or did not disappoint. The bread, and lamp, scallop, and bison dishes were all delicious! The chocolste souffle sounded luscious. Sorry we were too full to try it. We will definitely return! Next time we will order the souffle!!!
What a find! This place in Waxhaw is probably the best restaurant we experienced in Charlotte and surroundings, impeccable very friendly service, the food is divine, very flavorful and perfect portions, I also heard the server mention at the table next to us that they are doing cooking classes on Saturday, can't wait to sign up! Definitely on the top of our restaurant rotation.
Great restaurant downtown Waxhaw, impeccable service and very good food, the short rib are the best i ever tasted, dont miss the chocolate souffle.
It was awesome, as usual. Will go back as soon as possible. The staff had had a full Valentine week, but was as cheerful as ever on their last day!!
A real gem in south Charlotte
This was really good. Good menu, great food, great ambience. Overall, a fantastic restaurant.
Celebrating a birthday and also post Valentine’s date.
The service and food in this French restaurant are impeccable. The server was very knowledgeable and food was served at a perfect pace. The scallops and triggerfish entries were so fresh and flavorful. The entertainment was also wonderful.
Wednesday and Thursday nights feature live French music, enhances an excellent dining experience.
It is a hidden little gem just a few miles south of Charlotte. We have been there three times and plan on coming back. The food is exceptional and the menu is eclectic.
Wonderful food. Beautiful presentation and service. Loved Eddie the musician. Loved that chocolate soufflé ❤️
We went for an early Valentines Day dinner. The food, service, atmosphere...all 5 stars. I cant wait to go back
Nice to put fine dinning in Waxhaw, but lacks the quality and quality of fine French cuisine
Our first visit was on a cold February evening. Despite our reservation we were seated at the closest table to the front door, so whenever customers entered or left, we got quite a breeze. We were seated about 18 inches from the folks next to us, so one might say it was an authentic French cafe experience. Service staff was outstanding. Gnocchi and lamb starter was very good, main dishes of short ribs/ pasta and triggerfish /mussels had great flavors, although the faro mentioned in the dishes description was just a few flakes- I would have preferred a lot more grain, as it was almost a soup (but quite tasty and our server brought extra warm breed to enjoy the sauce!) This was not an in-expensive meal, but a good one, and if we had this in a small town in southern France, we would say "these people really know how to cook! The check came out to speak with us also, which is always appreciated. Biggest need is a very small foyer to give a better ambience to the front of the restaurant.
The French restaurant in downtown Waxhaw is a wonderful addition to the new life that is now a part of downtown Waxhaw. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful with the menu and we ordered the gnocchi appetizer to share. It was rich and delicious. I ordered the trigger fish boulibasse and my husband ordered the bison short ribs. Both were prepared expertly and were delicious. We each got our own French press coffee and shared a creme brûlée for dessert. We plan to return to try other items on the creative menu. It was a very romantic setting, slightly pricey but not unreasonably so and the service was great. The bread was also baked in house. We highly recommend it.
Amazing food and service, fresh ingredients, very knowledgeable staff.
The whole experience at Le Conchon d’Or was fabulous. The food was delicious, the service perfect and the pianist was great and very friendly. The whole experience was well worth the cost. We had a great time.
Wonderful meal. Nice to have a good quality French restaurant close by. Piano player a nice touch. Somewhat pricey but worth it.
Very nice. Highly recommend
We love this place. Owner and employees are warm, hospitable and remember their returning guests. Food is phenomenal!
