Our menu changes daily but our famous rotisserie chicken is always available!
Food just wasn't very good. Octopus was chewy and steak frites were overcooked and not flavorful.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, delicious food
Lovely UWS bistro in country French style.
Enjoyed the leeks, rotisserie chicken (creole), and Brussels sprouts plus dessert and a nice bottle of Sancerre. Wine selection was good and well-priced. Preparations were all well-considered and executed. Will return.
Wonderfully prepare dishes served in a welcoming environment.
I like the attention of a small menu done well. Id on't eat dairy, and my whole chicken was dressed
in olive oil. A nice touch. Those who had the onion soup remarks it is a winner with realistic serving.
We had salad, a bottle of wine, and an attentive waitstaff.
Lovely looking restaurant, great service , but the roast chicken, which should be the essence of a good French bistro, was horribly dried out and almost inedible. The salads and my partners scallops were much better.
Most pleasant surprise - superb food, excellent seevice, nice varied music at moderate level. Definitely want to return.
Delicious food, and one of the best meals on the Upper West Side.
A limited menu but nearly everything is excellent.
Ambiance is okay, but the lighting could use some improvement.
Liked it so much the first, went back the second time in one week! The beet salad, 1/2 chicken and with
vegetables were real winners. For sides we had the brussel sprouts and sauted mushrooms. They were also
delicious The manager is exceptionally nice as well. I food was a little late, and he bought us drinks.
Plan to go back next week with my husband.
The food was excellent and service knowledgeable and very helpful. Unfortunately the wine list is in a revamping mode and certain dishes were not available. With only a wine and beer license and limited by the glass choices it loses out
To casual of an atmosphere for the price.
Our dinner was delicious, with an adventurous recipe for each of the dishes, and beautifully executed. The charming decor and the diligent wait staff made the evening a delight!
We've come 3 times here now, and a few things are very clear: the escargot and chicken are among the best in the entire city; the prices are exceedingly reasonable and the servers are heavy-pourers when it comes to wine. That is 3-out-of-3 as far as we're concerned so we will keep coming!
Although a little pricey, Le Petit Rooster is a lovely find. The food is delicious and plentiful. The specialty,
chicken, can easily be shared by three people with sides or appetizers. The wait staff helpful and quite knowledgeable.
Amazing food and service. Highly recommended!
When you have to send the wine back twice you know that you are in trouble. Food was terrible!
MAGNIFIQUE DINNER AT LE PETIT ROOSTER! We celebrated our Friend's Bday on a cold nasty Monday night. It was great to find this SUPERB French Bistro on Open Table. The Restaurant is very pretty. The menu offers some Classic Bistro Offering plus some fun updates. We started with two Perfect French Onion Soups, my wife had delicious escargot and my friends wife had a special butternut squash app. All were A+. For main courses we shared Creole Poulet Roti for two and our friends shared Steak Frites and a Poulet Roti; excellent all around. 4 VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMERS. The waiter suggested adding Smaltz Tater Tots-AMAZING. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had a few desserts; The bread pudding and the Chocolate Mousse are fantastic! Can't wait to go bsck.
Waiter was not familiar with the menu ... while very nice just mediocre at best. Food was good but at that price point I expected it to come out hot not warm disappointing.
On a quiet holiday night we had a room to ourselves. the staff were attentive, yet respectful of our privacy. The food was delicious and presented in a wonderful manner.
Wonderful neighborhood French food.
Was just ok. Had been wanting to try LPR since it first opened. The chicken for two was delicious; the apps (steak tartare, octopus, escargot) were solid, but not great. Overall, good neighborhood spot, but was hoping for better. I hope it lasts and improves...
Really loved this place. Food was fresh, service excellent! Charming ambience. Will definitely go back!
Food was excellent. Chicken ,potatoes and Asparagus were great.Appetizer oysters were very good, dessert was good coffee a little overdone. Will definitely be back
didn't like that they didn't have hard liquor for cocktails. I should have noticed that before booking. but the wine/cider list was pretty good and the service (John) was fantastic.
Nice setting, solid options but not overwhelming. Try the specials
Great ambient, service and great service. Our favorite place for good food and wine!
A new neighborhood favorite - courteous fellow diners, excellent food, great location, great service. This was our second trip and we left happy both times.
Le Petit Rooster is quite a neighborhood find and might be worth a trip, considering how good its classic chicken for two is, my wife's favorite dish. This is a restaurant that is easy to call civilized. Service was prompt and friendly, tables are reasonably separated, noise level is pleasant and menus and food are interesting, not what you find everywhere. We will definitely return for the chicken and to try its cote de boeuf as well. Great select of sides and good mostly French focused wine list.
Really nice neighborhood spot, with very good food.
At the moment, this is the best restaurant on the UWS.
Creative menu, fair prices, good bar selections.
My go to place.
The perfect modern bistro for cozy Sunday dinner. A very imaginative, contemporary and delicious take on French favorites. We very much enjoyed the duck, steak frite and especially roast chicken. Oyster appetizer lovely topped with a light seafood foam. Adorable space, great bar. Be back soon!
Chicken for two was really terrific, and we had enough to take home for dinner the next evening. But it seems a bit stingy to charge $48 for two without including any side at all, not even French fries. We though the escargot were nothing like we expected, sweet, but no real flavor, no garlic...boring. And the flan was a runny mess with the consistency of mayo.
The presentation of the food was very nice but the fish was a bit dry.
We had two kinds of fish and the same was true for each. The bread is wonderful and everything else was quite lovely.
The service was excellent and the atmosphere is very soothing and conversation is easy to hear.
A great choice for an unhurried lunch on the UWS. The resto has done a great job of making the long box shape of the storefront space seem cozy and warm without being overly fussy. The menu is simple French-ish with something for everyone. Lunch was quiet, but with a full house in the evening the noise level would probably be higher.
Great find in this neighborhood. And the people could not be more lovely or attentive.
This review is of a lunch. Dinner might be different. Let's start with the best items. The raclette and ham croquettes (3) were delicious - wonderfully gooey inside with the ham and cheese working beautifully together, and the bed of perhaps very slightly too sweet red cabbage merging nicely. The sauteed mushrooms with the halibut (replacing the skate) were a very nice mix and freshly cooked. Now let's go on to the not so good. Onion soup was a disgrace - like sweet gravy instead of a soup, seemingly microwaved. The beet salad was fresh out of the cold box so all flavors were dulled; the fresh arugula sprinkled on top with no dressing did not do the salad any favors. The halibut was overcooked. Service was fine. Portions were ample.
This has become our go-to restaurant for Sunday dinner. The rotisserie chicken has been consistently excellent. Service and staff spot on.
Second time there and as wonderful as the first time. It is a lovely atmosphere with excellent food, and spectacular chicken. Although chicken is the highlight, everything else we ate was delicious. The server was extremely nice and wanting to help. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.
There isnt anything positive to say about this new place. The menu is small, but the portions are smaller. The wine list is good, but expensive. The service was slow as well as condescending. The owner was not engaged nor really customer aware.
With all the great choices in the area I wont be going back.
Appetizer were excellent in flavors and Portion
Main corse Halibut overcooked and salty
