In the City, he worked at two prestigious venues: Metrogusto and Assaggi, also given one Star in the Michelin Guide.
2006 is known as the great leap.
On August 21, he opened his first restaurant “Le Querce” in Forest Hill, at number 66 Brockley Rise.
In the warm atmosphere of the restaurant, it is easy to indulge in good food at celebrations, events and moments of conviviality with family and friends. Perhaps the pleasure of taste is contained in the feelings it evokes, in an unmistakable emotion, created by a fellowship of experience and knowledge. Echoes and references to a known past, that feeds the senses and takes us on a journey from the infinite nuances.
As always great food, friendly service and best pizza in London.
Very friendly staff, authentic food without pretension
The food is always superb. The staff are always kind, friendly and attentive with good advice. And I will say again that the food is always superb - you can’t say it enough. Such a great local treat!
An excellent meal again! The wine was amazing and the food so tasty. I had the spaghetti sea food linguine, which was fantastic. So lucky to have in our neighbourhood.
I can't imagine there is an Italian restaurant anywhere in London that serves food as good as Le Querce. Everything about the whole experience was magnificent - including the birthday treat they gave us at the end!
Haven't been for a for a few years as no longer live in the area but it was as excellent as me and my wife remember. Interesting, tasty food. No problem with late additions. Complimentary prosecco as it was our anniversary, moved to the terrace to have our coffee. Just a really lovely place with great food.
Excellent as always
It's been a while since we've been here and almost forgot how good it was. Unfussy, great flavoured food and great ice cream to finish!
Four of us had a very enjoyable evening eating main courses of mostly pasta and finishing with ice-cream and coffee. There was a bit of a wait to order but it was worth waiting for when the food arrived. My ravioli was delicious and the green beans complemented it very well. As always the different ice creams were tasty and provided a good talking point. The cost of the meal worked out to be about £27 pp, including tip.
A return visit will be planned!
Excellent meal and would highly recommend Le Querce
This is a friendly, family run business. We have been going to Le Querce fir many years, and the food and service is always special.
Great neigbourhood restaurant, highly recommended.
At least the third time I've been here with different family members. It's by far my favourite local restaurant & I've recommended it to many people. Long may it continue!!
Excellent food and great service.
A local gem that should be visited as soon as possible.
We are very lucky to have this in Brockley
We had a lovely dinner for six of us last Saturday. The food was superb - inventive and delicious. This is a definite step up on the standard pizza/spaghetti joint. We all had mini starters which meant that we had room for ice cream and sorbet for pudding. You won't get such and interesting range of home made ice cream anywhere else in SE London. A definite hit.
Sunday early dinner. Kids party inside so we chose to dine on the terrace.
Fabulous, fresh, beautifully cooked food, and a favourite is always those ice creams and sorbets. I love coming to this place. A special treat.
The best by far. Quality food time after time
A treat of a meal. Delicious fresh food cooked simply and beautifully...almost like being on holiday ... all we missed was the sea and the sun!
Absolutely delightful oasis of food heaven on Brockley Rise. The food is inventive, well thought through with surprising combinations that simply just worked! The guy in charge was very pleasant and a good host. We had a most pleasant evening. Thankyou!
Lovely food as always. Wines were hit and miss this time. One miss, followed but a more expensive hit. A fantastic place to share a meal with friends. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
The best meal and friendliest staff I’ve come across in a long long time. Superb!
Brilliant. A total gem. Booked at short notice and we had a fabulous evening. Thanks very much (again!)
Lovely authentic Sicilian restaurant. Relaxed, quiet & understated, the emphasis being on the important things the food and the service, both excellent.
Great food and atmosphere. A lovely family from Sardinia owns this restaurant and they are really friendly and accommodating. The chef is very creative resulting in a very interesting- and yummy- menu, with a modern take on traditional Italian dishes.would Definitely recommend 👌👌
A warm welcome from the owner. Delicious food and wine - with informed comment about both. We will be back.
Been going for years. Great food and amazing service
Lovely, warm and friendly restaurant with great Italian food! Perfect service. This was my second visit and I’ll definitely be back.
Fabulous well prepared cuisine. Friendly family staff as good as if not better than any London eaterie.
A lovely experience - a local favourite.
Lovely family friendly Italian. Will definately be back!
First visit here though well over due. Lovely personal service.Excellent ravioli & sumptuous desserts !!
Amazing food! Great value little local gem. Will be back!
Food was terrible. Bland. Dishes looked like they were conceived decades ago - rectangular potatoes with meat/fish plonked on top. I’d be surprised if the pasta is fresh, notwithstanding that sauce on it was plain and didn’t taste of much. So overpriced for what it was. Service was good and authentic Italian, shame the food wasn’t.
Do not understand the other ratings on here. Wouldn’t return.
Great fresh food and sevice
We try to visit this restaurant as much as possible. We love it! The food is outstanding and the service is top. We are always made to feel very welcome. It’s such a cracking local gem.
Excellent food, friendly service. I've been before but had their pizza for the first time - delicious! Very child-friendly too. Would definitely recommend for families.
Le Querce is a small restaurant very near Honor Oak Park station in Forest Hill South London. It is run by Sicilian people and their cuisine is authentic, fresh and tasty, with a variety of dishes from pizza and pasta to meat and fish, vegetarian dishes and a great collection of antipasti and desserts. Their ice creams and sorbet list is unusual and amazing. It isn’t too pricey and the service is friendly.
The food and wine is here consistently excellent. We have been coming here for many years, often for special occasions and family celebrations as well as the odd date night. The calves liver is always cooked perfectly, wines are very good. It's not the cheapest night out, but the quality of the ingredients and delightful, efficient service justifies the price. Never disappoints. The menu offers both classic Italian fare and imaginative regional dishes.
Lovely venue, great service, very considerate staff and terrific ambience. A wonderful local restaurant that deserves to thrive. Evidently very popular with the locals, too.
