The restaurant was closed but I was not informed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were a large, rather noisy disorganised party, but were looked after so well, the ladies serving us were attentive, obliging and smiling the whole time! Putting up with us very well and serving us very quickly. We had a really wonderful time and the food was delicious as always. My mother had a wonderful birthday meal so thank you very much to all!!
Absolutely fabulous. If you are looking for steak and chips there is no competition regarding quality of food wine service and ambience. No complaints
Banging man it’s banging
A little bit over priced for the set menu offered.
A perfect place with very good entrecoté, i will recomend it.
They put us in a table on the middle of the restaurant. So uncomfortable. If I book table for 6 pax I expect they are ready and not just put us in the middle of the restaurant with everyone passing and pushing our chairs.. Next time if they cant accommodate a booking of large group let me know (especially when I booked this a week an advance) for a bday celebration! So disappointed
The food was amazing! I have wanted to come for years and it was worth the wait !
It's ok. It's a salad, then steak and fries. It's a gimmick, and it's fine. Salad a little soggy when it should be crisp, but tasty. Meat is well cooked. Fries were good. Sauce is savoury. Wine is OK and well priced. But that's about it. Meat portion is a little meagre and the gimmick of "seconds" is really the other half of a normal portion. But lots of fries - yay! Service was good and nice, room was quiet and clean. But there are lots of other options now in London pretty close to the formula - think Flat Iron - which are probably better.
Walnut salad delicious, particularly liked the way the dressing coated the leaves.
Steak exceptional and chips nice too, both portions!
Cheeseboard and profiteroles delicious.
Decor not great - was expecting more ornate/old style but a bit bland, but as food is good it’s not a major factor.
Service was the weirdest thing about it. Everyone dressed like French maids. The way they ‘silver serve’ the portions of steak and chips was so awkward - just sweep it on to my plate already! They left some chips unclaimed too, which annoyed my dinner guest.
Bill was £100 for bottle of red, two salads, steaks and chips, profiteroles, cheese board and two ports.
Overall, worry it for food but the awkward, old-fashioned service put me off a bit.
Food was very good. Salad to start with was very fresh and appetising. The steak was cooked perfectly and secret sauce was delicious. Service could have been better as took a while to get seated and tables were slightly cramped. Overall good dining experience.
The formula is very good. Salad with vinaigrette made the authentic French way, great steak and fries and classic desserts. Our only negative was that we were placed at a table for two people right up against another couple, when there were two spare tables on the other side of us all evening! It would seem an easy thing to leave a table space between two sets of couples! In that way you are not forced to overhear the next couple's conversation - unless the restaurant is completely full of course, which it wasn't.
So yummy! Will defo be returning soon! Good value for money and great service!
When we booked the table I asked about an opentable cheque/voucher I’ve been offer from a friend if it was possible to redeem it against the bill and they said yes, when we arrived I presented the cheque to the staff and they refused to take it.
Terrible service, will never ever go again, I’m so sorry for them because the food is actually very good, we used to go very often.
You always know what to expect. And you get it.
Just wish they didn't rush you as much.
Only the service was bad. We had to ask many time for the drinks, bread and the cheese plate.
Lovely lunch. Only criticism is the chairs were not comfortable. Would have preferred to sit at the banquette.
Great choice for pre/theatre is you like steak frites. The walnut salad for a starter is good, too. Been to location in Midtown NYC before and this was as good.
Lovely lovely lovely! The staff so friendly and the hostess definitely had the mostess! Food was fab - always is!
I loved the food! The atmosphere made me
feel like I was in France! Would definitely recommend and go back myself!
The family have a soft spot for this place from back when we lived in Paris. The quality of the steak was excellent with the delicious secrete sauce and the perfect French fries all washed down with the house red.
The food and staff is lovely! But the problem is the tables, wayyy too crowded dinner.
Was nice relaxed and great simple food
Great food & wine as always. The best proper steak frites!
Very happy very nice place
The food is ok, simple choice but you probably know what you’re getting when you go there. What I didn’t appreciate is how rushed you are. Brought the steak before we were done with the salad, brought a second serving of steak and fries before having finished the first serving etc.
I personally prefer to be able to take my time to eat...
They need to review the customer service. Wasn’t impressed at all, and I can say that I’m very easy going.
Excellent steak/wine/sticky toffee pudding. In a great setting.
We were there last Friday for our 4 year anniversary, as it was where we went on our first date, and whilst the food was good we felt very rushed with our food coming out too quick.
Le relai de Venise is a wonderful place with a lovely staff. The food is delicious! I visit it regularly and don’t plan to stop!
Food is always good but the tables are far too close to each other
Great food, but we were crammed into a tiny space and they rushed our eating
Someone recommended this place but it didn’t meet expectations.
The concept of only having only one starter and main on the menu is great but if you’re going to do that you have to make sure it’s the best starter and main you can possibly offer.
The service was the highlight of the meal.
It was ok but nothing great, left feeling disappointed. I wouldn’t waste your money going here. There’s a lot better places to eat.
Good service, well cooked food. Great value. Lovely desserts
Took my young son there as he wanted to try steak for the first time. No better place to do that than Le Relais de Venise. I used to go to the one in Paris. Easier to get a table in Soho and always delicious. Service a bit slow but nice and friendly staff. Overall I recommend it.
