Le Relais de Venise - Soho (London)
A small selection of hand-picked wines accompany the meal and there is a selection of cheeses and a dessert list with profiteroles, meringue and other ice cream confections, all freshly made on the premises.
Food good as always! However, staff quite morose and does doesn’t understand English well- disappointing
Go to flat iron! Same price better food way better service!
I have asked if it is possible to have the fries replaced with salad and they said yes. On the second serving which is half of the actual meal I asked again if it’s possible to have again if I can have a bit of salad because I didn’t want fries. I was told it will be an extra charge and she even asked the manager who said the same. I found this appalling. It’s just leaf salad with mustard people, it takes so little to make a customer happy. I choose not to pay the service charge or leave any tips. When the waitress heard she started having a very aggressive body language and acted very angry. I’ll never return!
A great option for pre theatre or if you just fancy a good steak and chips
Le Relais de Venise - Soho. Some friends and I recently had lunch at Le Relais de Venise. We loved the food. What's not to love about salad, steak and frite!
Great place to meet for lunch or dinner.
WOW! Such an amazing meal. Honestly, could not fault it. The staff were lovely and the food was gorgeous!
Perfectly cooked steak and crispy frites smothered in the most delicious 'secret' sauce. As soon as you're done, you're given more steak and frites! Amazing idea and I can't wait to visit again.
You can’t beat the steak and frites. Blue is blue and really tasty too. We went for the Grand Verdus Bourdeaux this time - highly recommended
The food, drink and service was amazing. Great value for money in central London for amazing steak and chips. Although after going to their restaurants in Paris, I was disappointed it didn’t have enough of the same magic. I noticed there wasnt any background music, which when it is quiet, creates a dull atmosphere. It got better as it got busier with a low hum of people chatting but nothing compared to the ambiance in France.
Excellent French food. Rating 5/5
Delicious food, interesting concept, steak perfectly cooked and you get seconds. Reasonably priced, nice wine, no complaints whatsoever
Service friendly but we think the portions are getting smaller!
always good. once you understand what it offers you cant go wrong with good quality steak. House red also lovely
Simple but effective meat and potatoes with a supper yummy sauce. We always try to make a stop.
The food was of great quality and the portion sizes were perfect.
We have been to Le Relais many times and are never disappointed. Faultless really. If I was to carp it would be that the skinny fries were a little on the crispy side. Good value
I LOVE this group, specialist in steak with the most divine buttery sauce, the salad and bread are a great starter and baguette wonderful for mopping up all the juices and sauce. The second helping is fabulous too.
I also love the retro old world charm of the decor, crockery and ambiance. Highly recommended
I would recommend this place for a chilled Sunday dinner with a nice French twist - bistrot traditional environment that makes it really warm and raising memories.
Food was delicious - especially the desserts! Wasn't quite unlimited chips as advertised - but we got two servings of chips and steak. The desserts were lovely would definitely recommend. There is an optional 10% service charge added, however we were questioned for paying slightly under this (by £2!).
The food was amazing! We definitely will be coming again.
Having eaten in the City based restaurant several times previously, I knew what to expect from my visit to the Soho location and it was as expected.
The service was okay, the food was very good but I was very disappointed to have been charged £3.50 for a bottle of still water which was served from a re-sealable bottle.
That aside, it was as I expected and so a pleasant enough dining experience.
Lovely food and wine. Waiter could have been friendlier - explain things a bit better eg regarding second helping, for instance.
Some background music would have been appreciated. It was almost too quiet.
Service was excellent and so was the food! Will definitely return
the meet was poor' only french fries' no vegtables.
in the plat you get a lot of french fries' and a little portion of meet......
we were very dossapointed....
I would recommend based on previous experiences however on this occasion my partner was incredibly sick the next day and the only new thing he ate was at Le Relais de Venise. We think it was the dessert (Mont Blanc) but can’t fault the steak. Still not a great experience for him.
We have dined quite a few times at the marleybone restaurant and live it. Unfortunatey this trip want as good. The fries we only just warm and the service was not up to the standard we’ve had at the other restaurant. Perhaps stay with the original restaurant in future
Very nice experience
Good food and ambience
Bad salad dressing.
Terrible waitress. Clearly not happy to be doing her job...
superb - uniquely simple... great food, great wine, great service
Delicious food for a person who normally doesn’t like steak that much. Well done!
Excellent food and wines. Steaks cooked to perfection.
Waitress miserable . No smile or welcoming . Won’t recommend
Whilst there's not much choice on the menu, the consistently high standard wins every time. This was my first visit to Dean Street, though I had been to Manchester (now closed) and Marylebone Lane before. The staff were great, and even offered a taste of the wine. Walnut & lettuce salad is great, and steak and fries without equal. Sitting next to me were a French couple who obviously enjoyed the experience too.
Staff was not friendly at all - despite for the hostess. Food is VERY good,
As delicious as ever. I am afraid their sauce is addictive. Need to be feeling very hungry before you go with two portions of steak and chips. I love getting a second straight out of the fryer
it is one of the most consistent chains.
very good service, i think only marginally more expensive than it should be. but very very good through the years.
Using their May £20 lunch deal this was good value.
It wasn't as good as the one in Paris in terms of the quality of the meat and the richness of the sauce - I also saw a waitress throwing fresh fries away rather than putting the excess on our plates which seemed wasteful.
But it was a nice place to have a hearty lunch on a Sunday and the staff were very friendly.
Great food, simple menu. Allowed us to arrive earlier than reservation time
Food was amazing, definitely booking to visit again
First time in the Uk venue did not disappoint !
If the first 2 courses showed how good the food is then the profiterolls certainly capper off a great meal
We loved the unique offering and pared back menu (the menu is nothing more than 'how do you want your steak?'). The salad to start had a killer dressing, the steak was delicious and tender, and the double servings of fries more than generous!
Staff were attentive and charming, and more than willing to answer any questions (except those about the recipe for the secret steak sauce!).
With a set menu and a delicious house red, even after desserts the bill was very reasonable - especially for central London. This place is my new go-to for a relaxed but special meal in the city.
