The Chateaubriand evening represented especially good value for money. The food was well prepared and the wine list was reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. This was the last evening before Tier 3 lockdown.
A very enjoyable ambience especially once the number of diners increased from. 6.45pm onwards. Excellent food, especially only hours before having to shut due to COVID restrictions.
Le Salon Prive never disappoints.
And their set lunchtime menu is very good value with plenty of choice.
The tables are set wide apart and the service is attentive without being overdone.
It is my favourite restaurant.
We had a lovely meal at Le Salon Prive. Service was great. We gelt sage at all times and were well spaced for safety
This restaurant came as a recommendation from friends of ours and it really did live up to its expectation. I’ve recommended to list of friends!
Absolutely loved it. Amazing food and would highly recommend it!! GO GO GO
I booked this restaurant as an early birthday meal for my husband, as plans for his actual birthday had to be cancelled, due to Covid. I’m so glad I found this place. The food and service were both excellent. We will be going back again, once lockdown 2.0 is over!
Wonderful dinner tonight with great service
Menu appears ok and some of the special evenings look like good value, but overall its all a little bland and the bill escalates quickly and not always with transparency....The building itself has a nice atmosphere, especially if your downstairs.
Gorgeous food, service and ambience
Our first time here as we've just moved to the area, but we will be back much more going forward
Highly recommend - the truffle souffle is stunning!
Le Salon Prive is a real gem in the local area. The food is consistently excellent and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming.
Always love coming here and supporting not only a great restaurant but a local business too
The food was just incredible. Every bite was amazing.
Love this restaurant- it is certainly one of our favourite local haunts. The ambience is always lovely. My husband had the cheese and truffle soufflé to start, which is just DIVINE! We both had fish main courses- stone bass and halibut- which came with excellent sauces and sides. Finished off with a lovely cheese plate and ports. So sad that this lovely restaurant- along with others- will be forced to close its doors again for another month. We’ll be back as soon as we can.
The street lights illuminating the beautiful stained glass window adds to the vintage charm of this lovely French restaurant. The staff were attentive and the food delicious. I will definitely return.
Pppppppppppppppppppppppppppooooooòooooooooòoooooooo
Brilliant evening celebrating a birthday. The food was excellent, lobster starter and the venison and duck mains were highlights!! Some delicious dessert options as well so leave room for that!
Very relaxed, top service and plenty of space between the tables.
Best roast beef we have ever had! The Gravy is to DIE for!
Beautiful interior; superb selection of quality wines to accompany a great menu of French food choices which are far removed from the boring standard fare available in most French restaurants. Portions were also the right amount - enough for a dinner without feeling uncomfortably stuffed. Will be going again soon.
I needed a treat what with everything’s that’s going on and by all means I got one!! The twice cooked gruyere and truffle soufflé was to die for, I almost cancelled my main to have anyone!! But the pan fried stone bass was delicious. Staff and chef are always so friendly and accommodating. I just love this little jem of a restaurant and so local.
Fabulous food and very friendly waiter. It wasn't busy, but hardly surprising these days. The only fault I could find , would be the slight musty smell as you come in to the restaurant, but you don't notice it once sat down.
Good Food, good value, delightful setting and ambiance, attentive staff, lovely place to enjoy a meal.
Fantastic meal. All delicious. Thank you
The roast beef was exquisite. The most tender and succulent I’ve ever enjoyed.
Terrible food served by someone with a fake French accent and extremely overpriced. Would not go back or recommend!! Awful!!!!
Excellent food and service. ......................
First visit and it was brilliant. I will be going back. The food was delicious and I thought it was good value.
High quality French food in lovely surroundings presented in a way that makes you feel safe in the Covid world. An excellent way to spend a Sunday afternoon
Fantastic birthday dinner with the family - made the craziness of COVID and assorted restrictions fade into the background for a few hours. Great selection of dishes available and well complemented by a varied wine list.
We had a table on a Friday evening for 2 people. The food and service were both very good. Both the food and wine menus were fairly priced and a number of wines could be ordered by the carafe as well as by the glass and bottle. A really good find!
We went out for our anniversary, had a lovely 3 course meal and the service was excellent.
My cheese soufflé and pithiver were excellent . My guests steak, although tasty, had lots of grizzle and unrendered fat. My creme brûlée was tasty but slightly scrambled.
Only a cursory nod to COVID restrictions, waiter kept removing his mask.
Highly recommend dining at ale Salon Privé. Never fails to impress.
Attentive service. Really delicious food; enough creativity to be interesting but enough simplicity to keep it an enjoyable meal rather than an exercise in showing off on the part of the chef. A brilliant menu, both food and drinks. I enjoyed the whole night.
Wonderful food from start to finish, service was excellent. Well organised for social distance dining.
We were excited to go as we have wanted to go for a while. Unfortunately there was a large party of 9 people in who ruined the atmosphere as were loud and made it difficult to hear. It also felt that the kitchen could not cope with this as the food was not quite the quality expected and no one came to check.
A lovely meal; good food and service. Fish was excellent.
Previously had excellent dining experiences at this establishment, but sadly not during this visit. Good service apart from long delay in receiving our side orders, resulting in main meal almost finished upon arrival. Very disappointed with main course, poor quality sirloin with plenty of sinew, also rather cold and not done as ordered. Very disappointing as this was my birthday celebration. Have always recommended to others, but now rather hesitant. Will give it another try for the sake of fairness.
First visit, attentive staff food excellent atmosphere lovely
We had booked and received a nice friendly welcome. The restaurant wasn’t that busy so we had a choice of tables. We chose a table in the corner. The service was very good and the food was well presented and very tasty. My only minor criticism would be their choice of music. If you like jazz then fine but if you don’t then it can get a bit wearing.
