It is a non-smoking restaurant and welcomes children.
It currently holds two AA rosettes, it has been voted by Zagat 2014 as 5th best French bistro in London, holds two forks and knives on Michelin guide.

The food was good. Too much Pepper on the steak!
It was a shame that we had to wait a long time between the main course and the dessert.
We will come back anyway!
Classic French food well executed in traditional surroundings.
I’ve been to this restaurant many times & can’t fault it, but this was a first for my friend & she was really impressed. We had the 3 course set lunch with a glass of house wine & the food was delicious as was the wine.
A West London Gem. Too long since my last visit. I will return soon.
Great food and service. My visitor from the US was impressed and wants to come back.
V good food, although on a Friday night there is no set menu option, so it was fairly pricy. Will be back soon.
Another lovely evening at Le Vacherin.
Value for money is very low. Food portion is super small and very expensive with a lot of extra charges. Information and menu in the site
I’ve dined at this superb restaurant many a time and would thoroughly recommend it
I loved the relax feel of this restaurant. I must visit the food was excellently presented and the staff attentive. The food was tasty and would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Very good food and wine - a 2/3 course fixed menu would have been good on a Saturday! As not cheap!
Excellent ambience and very good service- would thoroughly recommend it.
Wonderful restaurant serving classic French food. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed the food, nice evening and very pleasant staff.
Amazing food, I would certainly go back. Shame the service was a little slow.
Excellent service and experience would definitely highly recommend. Was just a little on the cold side towards the end of the night by the door, so would possibly suggest turning the heating up on the right side of the restaurant, if possible. But couldn't fault them on anything else, it was perfect for our friend's birthday celebration, she had an amazing experience. Compliments to the chef and waiting staff once again!
From a food and service perspective the restaurant lived up to expectations. Sadly, however, very disappointed that another Chiswick restaurant allows babies (crying) to attend dinner with their parents.
The only downside for me was that there was only 1 option for vegetarians for main course on the set menu I had chosen and 2 options for me with the starters, which of course i feel i could have been better catered for. The food was lovely and the other members of my party were very happy indeed.
Without a doubt, my favourite Chiswick restaurant. I’ve been going here for 3-4 years and has been the most consistent in terms of quality of food and service and some of the offers have been great value for money. Winner all round whether it is lunch, mid week dinner or special weekend grazing. Can’t fault it at all! The Italian maitre’d is the icing on the cake in terms of his professionalism and friendliness 😊
Really good food. Set menu is excellent value and great for special occasions
Sunday set-menu is fantastic value for money, whilst still offering a fine dining experience. Cosy ambience with attentive staff.
An excellent Sunday lunch with a good selection and reasonable price
Outstanding service and great food! Will definitely come back for a big occasion. Thanks Anaïs & team!
Had a lively meal with friends here. Everything was delicious and the service was great. Loved the cheese soufflé a must try.
Excellent and will return
All style, no substance.
We ignored the warning signs from the start and left the restaurant £150 poorer and also accused of stealing. Service was incredibly poor.
On arrival we asked to be seated at a table in the main restaurant for two reasons- we would be cold sat at the door (we had just walked around Kew Gardens which was delightful but we were a bit frozen) and behind a large group celebrating their Christmas party (they were having a great time but we wanted to sit somewhere a bit quieter). This was met with confusion and push back, we explained we did not mind waiting for a table to be prepared as we were in no rush.
Once the table was ready, I picked up my partner’s coat and a multitude of umbrellas to head to the table (I unfortunately missed a cap). No assistance was offered here which would have really been appreciated. I tried to make small talk with the waiter and explain we had been outside all afternoon (walking around Kew Gardens), I daresay I was glared at and made to feel like a huge inconvenience.
Off to a rocky start, we didn’t want the service to spoil our evening. We weren’t convinced the second waiter had any knowledge of the wine menu however, we enjoyed our starters. For main course the fish was disappointing and overcooked (hake can be tricky to get right) but we didn’t make a fuss.
As we collected our coats and many jackets, I realised we were missing a cap. As it wasn’t on the chair where we left our things at the start of the evening, my partner went to check the cloak room. The cap was mistakenly put on a peg belonging to another table. The waiter did not believe it belonged to my partner and as we left the restaurant, shouted across to another member of staff that he was leaving with a cap and queried was it his. This was in Spanish which we understood.
I can honestly say I have never been treated that way in a restaurant. We were both humiliated and insulted. The experience is a bad memory we hope to forget.
Very attentive service in a relaxed atmosphere. Food was enjoyable I had artichoke followed by Monkfish really good.
Fabulous but please NO music!!! No need! People like to talk and eat in a restaurant. I go to a concert for music.
Christian, the sommelier, is a star. He organised a romantic meal for my sister and her husband and they really enjoyed it.
Not a good start when we were only brought the a la carte menu and had to ask for the set menus. And we were not the only table to ask for the "extra" menu.
Don't recommend the Seared yellowfin tuna, shrimp & ginger samosa, chilli, grilled scallion, wasabi broth (Supp. £4.50). The samosa inside was brown and dry and tasteless. Nor did my partner enjoy his Marinated artichoke & smoked Burrata, poached pears, roasted pine nuts, lemon quinoa, aged balsamic. He thought it was flavourless and largely chopped lettuce.
On the mains, the Icelandic Cod, poached kumquats, buttered salsify, sauce Verbena was overcooked and small.
The Seafood Cassoulet – Cockles, Palourde clams, St. Austell Bay mussels, red mullet, brown shrimps was not very tasty, but was also very small. It would have been a generous starter.
We came here for a special occasion. A mistake. And not good value.
The service however was pleasant and I was brought a little ice cream dish in recognition of my birthday, for which my thanks.
Ask for the fixed price menu which is good value. We were only given the a la Carte menu and when we requested the fixed price menu were told because we had bought our own wine it was compulsory to have three courses.
A real neighbourhood gem with excellent food and service and a really good value prix fixe menu too. Highly recommend and the goats cheese soufflé was perfect.
We went with a groupon voucher and as soon as that was mentioned to the staff their attitude changed. The waiter asked if we wanted bread and we accepted. Our starter came which was the pate. The pate was nice but didn't have enough bread and we hadn't received our bread as offered so we asked for some bread. The butter was infused with anchovies and it wasn't very nice, I can't imagine many people like it. The main was a steak with some salad and fries and sauce. There should have been more sauce and maybe some beans instead of salad as it didn't really go with it and portion was small. Creme brulee was amazing.
We went to leave and thanked the waiter who quite abruptly said 'there's a bill to pay'. Upon assessing the bill we had been charge for bread twice. We didn't realise there was a charge for the bread (this should have been disclosed at the time it was offered). I told the waiter we had only had one portion of bread and he argued with me that we had 2 portions. I started to explain that we didn't get the bread before the starter and he wouldn't listen to me instead turned his back to me quite rudely and trusted the amended bill to us. We advised we did not wish to pay the service charge (it is meant to be optional) and we were made to feel like cheap liars. Really crappy end to an otherwise nice evening.
Groupon vouchers are meant to give purchasers a taste of the restaurant to encourage return visits. We will not be returning after this experience.
Always welcoming, always reliable, always delicious.
Classic and classy. Every time we go it produces the same quality food and always delivers.
My friend and I recently visited Le Vacherin for Sunday roast, and I have to say the food was outstanding. The food was fresh, packed with flavour and beautifully presented. I started with Goat's cheese & red onion twice baked cheese soufflé, with a red chicory salad with walnuts, followed by Aged topside of Beef, yorkshire pudding, with roast potatoes & veg, followed by White chocolate & raisin Pannacotta with raspberry jelly & frosted almonds, all of which were superb. My friend had the soup to start, which again was delicious, she also had the Beef, followed by sorbet.
The service was outstanding. The staff are always very friendly and make you feel very welcome.
Le Vacherin is a wonderful restaurant and one of my favourites. I thoroughly recommend you pay this restaurant a visit, you wont be disappointed.
Excellent French restaurant in a less frequented part of Chiswick that's well worth a visit.
Delicious food, great service & fantastic value!
We went for a special birthday meal,it was wonderful. The food was delicious and staff were attentive but not obtrusive it was a very special evening
Outstanding dinner. My favourite restaurant in London.
prix fixe menu choice of meal was not good, not enough variety. Choice of vegetables poor. Starters ok,but escargot very poor ,very small, could not extricate from shell, had to ask a friend for help as they could not be seen as they were so small. Music excellent.
