This is my second visit to Leicester Square Kitchen following a great 1st visit following which I recommended it to several people. This time however the visit was spoilt by the last course taking ages to arrive. When it did appear after my asking the waiter where it was it had been over cooked. I ate part of it but had to leave most as it was not good. at a guess I would say they forgot to bring it to the table so rather than redoing the dish they just bunged it back in the fryer (its was crispy fried prawns) to bring it back up to temperature. I raised my issue with the waiter when he brought the bill and he just took the unfinished dish away and never returned to apologise and someone else took my payment. Very disappointed. I will not be returning.
The restaurant is a top location in central London. The menu is interesting and the food is excellent. The friendly waiter went out of his way to help us. I am vegan and he helped picked the best options, quite in a very knowledgeable fashion. I would definitely go back
Another lovely meal excellent service and very tasty food with plenty of choice. Staff very attentive but not obtrusive. All in all a most enjoyable evening. Will be returning. It was our wedding anniversary and at the end of the meal we were delighted to be given a lovely treat of a decorated platter with a cake for us to enjoy.
We went for the first time recently and we will definitely be back, in fact we have already rebooked for our next trip into London - why it was fantastic, the food, the service, the cost, just everything was great.
A return visit for my wife’s birthday as we had a great meal here previously. The service was excellent, great selection of food from the menu everything was delicious!
excellent and friendly service from our waiter Antonio, combined with incredible food, fresh ingredients, made for a very enjoyable experience!
Restaurant easy to find and ideally situated for speedy pre-theatre dining (booked for 6pm, out by 7:15pm). We requested the pre-theatre menu and enjoyed a selection of exciting mexican/peruvian dishes, of varying spice levels. The staff were attentive and professional and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Would visit again.
We went to celebrate our anniversary!! Food was amazing and they even gave us a dessert with a message :))) definitely going to go again.
We liked it very much. The server was odd but it didn't really detract from the overall experience. When I placed my order he said I was wasting money by ordering so many tuna tacos although they are only bite sized. So I reduced my order and then ended up adding them back on throughout the meal. There was also a lot of "warnings" about the food being spicy. We did not find the food overly spicy so I wish they would have shilled out and let me order. I had already mentioned that we had visited the restaurant before and were familiar with the food. That was really the only negative. The food was all great.
Really nice restaurant, good for sharers, however, I found the menu very hard to understand.
Other than that, the staff are very nice, the place is nice and clean.
Overall a good experience.
The staff were professional and friendly. Food was interesting and the options on the menu were great. The soft and hard tacos were slightly smaller than expected. Literally a 'mouthful' yet a great taste. The atmosphere was great for an evening get-together.
This was our first time to LSK and our server, Malveen, was excellent. He explained how it all worked and helped with our questions about certain dishes. The food was delicious and although it was busy and noisy you could still hold a conversation with your friends and the atmosphere seemed nice and relaxed. We really enjoyed the experience and can’t wait to visit again.
Fantastic at very reasonable prices. Staff we very helpful and the drinks were great.
This place is Amazing! Food was exceptionally good, spicy but not too spicy, servic was great! Definately coming back anytime I am in London!
I'd won a dinner for two here so it was a good chance to try a wide selection of the dishes on offer. Everything was delicious - only one dish disappointed (Mayan Chicken salad - which was still nice). Faves were the steak and the sea bream ceviche. We wanted the broccoli salad but waitress advised it was REALLY hot so we skipped it. It comes out as it's cooked / ready and we did have to ask for a pause due to lack of space on the table, and not letting it spoil. Desserts are priced well too. Nice bottle of house rose. Would go back - and try the pre-theatre offer.
Great place for a chilled out catch up with a friend. Food and service were excellent. Small portions but perfectly formed. Serving staff were attentive, friendly and knew the menu well. My only disappointment was that it was air conditioned, even in a chilly April.
Overall, a very good meal. We were warned (very carefully!) by the waiter that some items were spicy, and this turned out to be much more noticeable than on our first visit. For us, this would make us think twice about going back again but that is purely a matter of personal taste. If you like hot food in a chilli sense, this is a great place!
Service was extremely friendly and a very good response was made to the fact that one dish we ordered never arrived.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Have never been before but will be returning. Lovely twist on tapas mexican and peruvian cuisine. I have to say that the service and staff at the Leicester Sq Kitchen have to be one of the best I have had. Angeline was our waitress and she helped us choose our food as we had never been before. Very knowledgeable and attentive but without being intrusive. We had a lovely afternoon and the food was exceptionally good. Great find and will go back again
Buon ristorante e ottimo servizio! Cibo messicano e peruviano ottimi...un po’ piccante!!!
Food was great quality and it was lovely that the waiter remembered it was my partner's birthday and brought out a special dessert
Another great meal here with my daughter while on a weekend break. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. Dishes are very creative and beautifully presented. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in London.
Amazing food and really really helpful staff who talk you through the menu and their recommendations. Something a bit out of the ordinary and in a brilliant setting. Would definitely go back.
Food was ok at best, we didn't think the taste was worth the price. Service was sub par. I was cheekily charged for 2 pots of tea when they asked if I wanted a refill and they refused to correct it. Overall ok if you're there for the atmosphere and it's a convenient location. The only dish worth ordering was the sticky ribs
Great dinner deal £29 for 4 dishes and a glass if prosecco, you have to try the chicken wings with hit sauce!! Really friendly staff and quick service on a busy evening
Fun and delicious. Only complaint is that for the size of the portions (which are more tapa style) this can become a pricey meal. Otherwise it was great!
Great food, and great service! Had reserved in advanced, adding in the remarks box that someone was gluten allergic and that we didn't have much time as we had a show to go to. The staff was well informed and let us know immediately which dishes were gluten free and the food also came really fast so that we had no problem catching our show.
Great food and service. Delicious cocktails and good value with the set menu
Management please take note!
We pre-booked for 6pm Saturday, post-matinee and were allocated the worst table in the place - by the constantly opening door, next to the busy waiters' station and also next to the only walk-way through to the more central tables. Hence I felt extremely oppressed and requested that we move to one of the other empty tables.
First the waiter claimed that by using OpenTable, other guests has pre-booked specific tables using an online floor plan which meant they were full (can you really do this on OT?). Then after further complaint we were finally moved to the casual dining area which was great and from where we received excellent service.
The key point here is that the staff were as exasperated as we were about our first table - clearly a source of many a previous complaint. But they said their suggestions to management to perhaps remove the table or reconfigure the layout had fallen on deaf ears.
I would have given this restaurant a much higher rating for its excellent food and great service, but (and I can't be the only one to have experienced this) when you are given such a bad table it's impossible to relax and enjoy the company of friends or family. Management needs to listen to their staff and put long term customer satisfaction (and ultimately long term profit) ahead of 'letting' every inch of space to maximise one night's takings.
Really nice decor and food, unfortunately the service was very average. It was quite clear that the wait staff were inexperienced and one in particular was quite rude. There was however a lovely woman who was fantastic.
Great food, taste, cooking and variety.
Very friendly and helpful service.
A bit too noisy with music a bit too loud but did not alter this great evening.
My wife and I came here for a special meal before going to the theatre and it didn’t disappoint. Delicious and creative food, amazing service by all staff but especially our waiter Antonio who was extremely friendly and helpful. All housed in a beautiful building right on Leicester Square. We will definitely be back!
Friendly service especially from our waiter Silviv who guided us through the pre theatre menu and wine suggestions. As we were unsure which of two wines to order he brought us a sample of each to try which was a nice touch.
Based on London prices this was good value and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere with views over Leicester Square.
Being part of our anniversary trip they even surprised us with a special desert to share.
Would recommend a visit and if served by Silviv he will certainly look after you well.
Staff where very friendly and attentive. We love plates and sharing - so this kind of South American fusion was perfect for friends getting together.
I absolutely loved it!! Great food, super service, and the restaurant was Clean and trendy🤗
Excellent menu, cooked to perfection at very fair prices. Staff are very friendly and attentive and the cocktails are fairly prices and very well made. Was hard not to go back the very next day!
Great food and lovely flavours in a little noisy venue.
Very good selection of food for the set menu. The duck salad was extremely good and there was more than enough to go around as we shared 6 dishes between two and couldn't finish.
I have been raving about this meal for the last couple of days, and will probably keep going. I went with a friend before the theatre, so we had the cut down pre-theatre menu. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was attentive without being invasive. There was plenty of space between the tables, so nobody's conversation drifted across into ours, which was lovely. I felt like I had a much more expensive meal than I paid for, and am looking for an excuse to go back with my boyfriend as soon as possible.
A real oasis of quality in the culinary desert of Leicester Square.
We had a pre theatre lunch. Food and service was excellent. Very laid back and not crowded. Will definitely go back when next in London.
Loved it here, best Mexican in London we had such a lovely evening.
