We look forward to seeing you at Lena's soon!
Lena's is our go to restaurant for all things Italian. Great pizza (also happens to be our 5 year olds favorite), but their apps and salads are great as well. The pasta is always delicious and they usually have a couple of specials that are worth trying.
It was GREAT!!!!! And my nephew REALLY enjoyed his birthday
First time at Lena’s! We had heard about it from friends and co workers so we decided to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary here. The arancini was cooked nice and crisp, the wine was delicious, and the pizza was AMAZING! My husband got the Diavola pizza and I got the chicken calabrese ranch pizza. I was pleasantly surprised by how soft yet crunchy the crust was! Our server was very friendly and prompt. James (the manager I believe?) came to our table and explained the history behind the calabrese ranch, which was really neat! And he even brought us our own little cup of calabrese ranch to dip our pizza in, which was a nice touch! We sat inside and the noise level was a little high, but expected for a Friday night. We left with full tummies and a nice night! We will be back!
Perfect patio with fire pit and heaters
Favorite spot in Alexandria!
The food and the staff were AMAZING!!!!!!!! We WILL be back!!!!
Everything is always perfect when we eat there - which is often. Our only complaint would be the noise level inside the restaurant between 6pm - 8pm. Extremely hard to have a conversation with all of the noise. Other than that everything is great. Especially the beet salad with salmon and the five cheese ravioli.
Fantastic food, service and easy parking too! Very good all around! Will definitely be back!
We frequent this spot. Waitress was fantastic, loved the seasonal beer selections, & the temp was perfect to sit outside. However, my pasta dish and the pizza came out 15 mins apart. Had we not been splitting my dish would have been cold while waiting for my boyfriend’s pizza. We noticed it happened to other tables as well. We had always gotten a pizza and never had this problem, but it left a negative “taste” in our mouth in terms of experience this time.
Had spinach and artichoke dip as appetizer. It was tasty, The portion was sufficient for 2 or 3 people. The margherita pizza was also quite good. The place was crowded on a Saturday night. They have parking but it was full. Was able to able to park on a nearby street. Overall a satisfactory meal.
First day of school
We love this place and go every other Saturday. It’s the best pizza that taste like Italian pizza, and I’m from Italy so I know what’s good
I had the chicken parmesan and it was fairly decent but they sat me under an air vent and my meal got cold very quickly. The spaghetti was not very tasty.
It's a busy place even on a rainy Friday evening and early! Great service. Make a reservation! Parking was moving , but limited so be patient. Great staff outside and inside.
Our first time there. Loved it and will return every week.
Excellent food and service! Would be nice if they served bread with the pasta dishes. It was also a super loud restaurant.
The manager was rude from the moment we walked in. He profiled us immediately and assumed I didn't have a reservation, but once the host explained that we did have a reservation, he gave me the option to sit outside if I didn't mind waiting an additional 10-20 minutes. I preferred an outside table and we were still waiting on two members of our party so we opted to wait. Well the wait ended up being much longer than the manager said it would be and he made no strides to accommodate us. I'm from Texas and look forward to visiting Lena's whenever I'm in the DMV, however after this latest experience at this restaurant I don't think I'll be returning
The Gnocchi was too rich and the service under par. Prices too high for quality of food.
Lena’s is a great local pizza joint on the border of old town and del Ray. The pizza, including gluten free options, is among the best in this area. The staff is always accommodating even when they get an order wrong. Highly recommended for any night of the week!
We were on day 14 of a 21 day vacation. We were trying to eat at places that were highly recommended or highly rated. We had high expectations and Lena's Pizza did not disappoint. The food was very flavorful, spicy as requested and was a beautiful blend of spices and ingredients. The chicken Caesar salad was succulent, the pizza was exquisite and the tiramisu and the cannoli were delightful. The service was fabulous, the waitress took care of all of our requests with a smile and "yes, we can".
If you are looking for a fantastic experience, then you have to go to Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza. Whenever we have the chance, we will absolutely go to this festival of food any time we can!
Best pizza I’ve had in a very long time. Will be back very soon.
Always outstanding. The pizza is consistent and come out fast. Service is always great as well.
Great salad, excellent portion size, great service. Very comfortable!
This is a great place! After eating at a handful of restaurants on King St, we decided to venture out and find something better and less expensive. I'm so glad we found Lena's! We ate there two nights in a row and was pleased with the food each night. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend the parm chicken wings!
We have been to Lena’s many times and gave always enjoyed it. We both have our go-to dishes and enjoy the consistence in preparation and taste, so we were a little dismayed this time around when the chef of the day decided to douse everything with ground pepper. I gave a pepper allergy, so that consistence in preparation is critical and this change threw me a bit. For lunch, my go to is the chicken parm panini with the side greens with just olive oil. The sandwich was perfect, but as mentioned, the salad was littered with pepper, so I immediately sent it back. Likewise, my wife always gets the salmon which never has pepper, but thus time, it was heavily coated; not as much if an issue for her, but it did impede our ability to share plates. We mentioned this odd occurrence to the manager and he quickly addressed the issues with the kitchen, but also noted that their salads are intended to be prepared with pepper. To remedy the situation, he also gave us a gift card and a free dessert. Total class act and a great way to make customers happy. We’ll be back...and I’ll remember to ask fir no pepper!
The gnocchi is delicious, and I add bacon to it. Always have good experiences here and it’s one of my favorite restaurants.
The best pizza in town! Great appetizers, Great service!
Great service! Jorge was wonderful!
Great pizza , excellent service.
It was my daughters birthday. We split a pasta dish and a pizza. Both were delicious. We also had the polenta fries as an appetizer, also delicious. The waitress was a bit slow hence four stars but was attentive to our needs and pleasant. We sat outside on the patio which is a lovely setting but a bit noisy as all the tables were filled. Overall, I highly recommend Lena’s - it is one of the best places to get great pizza in Alexandria.
It was very quiet for our Sunday lunch until the fire alarm went off! None of the staff came over to say whether we should leave or if was a false alarm. It went off for about five minutes. We were at the conclusion of our meal so we tried to get our check and a box for leftovers. By the time that was all done, the alarm was off. We enjoyed the food.
Very, very nice on outside terrace... staff is very good and attentive which is lovely ...
It's always a good time at Lena's
Lena's has a great atmosphere, outdoor seating was amazing. Our service was slow and our server was not attentive. The Meatball Panini came out with a burnt bun and with barbecued potato chips. The menu does not mention barbecue chips and my son did not like these. On the other hand, the dessert and gnocchi special were both amazing.
Perfect Place for a good Pizza and wine.
Was a good evening!
Mother’s Day - great experience all around! They accommodated an extra guest and my Mom’s dinner request which wasn’t even a menu item - Home Run;-)
Service was excellent and the staff was kind and accommodating. We were there for a mother’s day lunch and the drinks and the food were perfect!
Long time customer, since the day they opened. However, avoid Lena's on a Friday or Saturday night. They are too busy and things fall apart, they can't handle the load. Salads served on hot-from-the-dishwasher plates (wilted lettuce), pizza undercooked in spots from too many pies in the oven, wait staff is harried and can't get to you. Plus, the place is way too hot inside. Repeated requests to open a door (A/C was broken) were denied and everyone wanted to sit outside so no tables there. We have been to Lena's over fifty times, and every weekend night is always a disaster. Best time to go is Sundays at lunch, then its calm and the food and service are done like they should be.
Enjoyed the sausage and peppers pizza.
The food at Lena's was awesome as always. Organizationally, Lena's didn't have it together on Saturday. I received the wrong check and service was slow. Normally a great place all around -- just didn't have a great night on the service side. Food - perfect.
