Les 110 de Taillevent, London
Following the tradition of the Michelin two-star Taillevent in Paris, Les 110 de Taillevent in London offers both classic and modern French dishes along with a choice of perfectly paired wines by the glass.
The one hundred and ten wines by the glass, along with a wine list of over 1100 bins can be enjoyed in the modern styled restaurant, private dining room or on the al fresco terrace for lunch, dinner, drinks and private parties, Monday to Friday and Saturday dinner.
A superb evening. The service was immaculate, the food outstanding and Christo the head sommelier could not have been more helpful to this group of wine enthusiast diners. The wine list is quite incredible with prices ranging from very reasonable to stratospheric there is something for everyone.
We had decided to visit this restaurant as we thought having wine pairings with food would make it an outstanding experience. Unfortunately the evening we attended they did not offer us a tasting menu which I’d been looking forward to trying. I then opted for a glass of champagne to go with my asparagus and burrata starter. I’ve never been to a restaurant where I’ve been served a glass of champagne in a wine glass?! Really not what I expected at all! The starters were okay, small portions and as no amuse bouche offered seemed to disappear a little too quickly! Mains were good, but not amazing. However the Apple tartetatin was definitely the best I’d ever tasted and would return just for dessert! Maybe expectations were too high, but found the food of a good level, the portions small and the waiting staff of a little slow. Not once during our meal did they come and ask if everything was okay. Not really a fine dining experience overall.
What a fantastic restaurant- the staff, the wines, the food, the ambience—all of them contributed to a wonderful evening, can’t wait to try the tasting menu on my next visit.
Sadly, I was disappointed. Food was average and took a long to time arrive. Service was poor--completely inattentive to what was happening on the tables which, given the price point, should have been excellent. I don't the concept of buying wine by the glass which, given the service problem, took a long time to have the finished glass to be replaced by a full one. As one would expect, wine was pricey for what it was.
Entrance gives rise to expectations of a special experience; however, the lack of delivery made leaving through it a relief. I would not recommend.
Fabulous - the set lunch menu is very good value for this level of cooking.
Knowledgeable young Sommelier keen to advise and suggest very good lesser known wines at prices that are very good value for money.
A top venue.
Food excellent- and a chef who came out of the kitchen to discuss dishes and truffle options made the night. Faultless service and a knowledgeable sommelier. Great range of wine by the glass (of course) but a bible of a wine list too (in the big book on request). Pacing of meal was perfect as was portion size. Just right.
Portions small. Expensive for what we got. Food was good by all means but didn’t justify the high price. Wine pairing was a bit of a scam, serving Moroccan wine and obscure aromatic whites. Why not just serve quality Bordeaux/ Bourgogne or Italian?
Service and setting was quite poor. Food was good but lacking a bit of surprises. Nothing to compare with the Parisian Taillevant. Sommeliers were great though.
Great service and phenomenal food. The wine parings and descriptions by the sommelier. I few more options on the menu would've made it all 5 stars.
Fantastic truffle menu and great wine selection. Service could be improved but on the whole a very enjoyable meal.
We had dinner booked for New Year's Eve having been to the restaurant a number of times before because we liked the wine pairing choices. Actually the format for New Years Eve was a tasting menu and a choice of prestige or discovery wine pairing.....and we chose 1 of each and we were happy with the menu. We would have preferred to be in the main restaurant rather then the annex which was a bit noisy but we got used to it. There had not been any attempt to recognsie that this was New Years Eve in terms of decorations but we were in a happy frame of mind despite that. The food was excellent and when the wine arrived we had a range from outstanding to average. The real problem was that the sommelier was rushed off his feet as he was short of assistants and sadly was unable to keep up with the food sevice. He missed one couse completely....which misses the point of pairing...is that dispairing? We love 110 both in London and Paris and we had a nice chat with the Chef at the end of the evening and also had a fun interlude with the Sommelier when we asked for an alternative glass of wine and he gave us a mystery glass which we had to critique! It was Swiss...Gamay....who would have come up with that? It was good of him bearing in mind that he was chasing his tail all evening. We will definitely go back to 110 but may be not for New Years Eve. Happy New Year to you all.
All perfect but little awkward getting our table, good wine et a lot of choice amazing wine menu, very nice for the taste of the food, try the beef!
Unbelievable wine list which we took full advantage of. Friendly staff, Christophe the sommelier was very knowledgable. Food was good, Prompt service, would visit again.
Despite booking on-line and having a confirmation, when appeared at the restaurant they did not have my booking.
After some confusion and informing me that I had agreed to sit at the bar, which I hadn’t, the matre de showed my gust and I to a table set for 4 people. They then proceeded to rush us through our lunch and we were in and out within 1 hour!
The menu we were given was only a set meal option and so very limited. We ordered and when the 1st course arrived were astounded at the meagre serving, smalll would be too kinder word.
The same got the main course and desert!
We paid and left saying that we would never return or recommend this restaurant. Very pretentious, badly run, food portions appealing, value for money awful. In a word, terrible!
Loved the food-wine pairing system that makes it easy to try wines you’re not familiar with. The pairings were on the mark.
This is one of my favourite lunch restaurants. It is quiet enough to talk and the food is delicious. I particularly love the fact that you can have small glasses of wine of varying costs to match your food choices.
Beautifully crafted food presented on custom crockery. Lobster risotto particularly delicious.
The circular info cards attached to the base of the wine glass were a nice touch.
Overall experience could only have been improved by having white tablecloths, but bistro style tables more eco-friendly for the laundry!
Spent the last night of a two week trip across Europe having dinner here while in London and this was easily the best meal of our vacation - even better than a few Michelin star rated restaurants we had visited previously on our trip. We ordered the tasting menu with the prestige wine pairing and my party of three was unanimous that everything was excellent - not a single misstep. I rarely give 5 star ratings on here but the night I was there I just could not find a fault with this restaurant, probably my best dining experience this year so far. I will say that the service is more towards the formal end of the spectrum rather than casual but it's not stuffy or pretentious; more of a Gallic precision and correctness while still understanding that the customer comes first. The only puzzling thing was how I was able to get a reservation on such short notice - are Londoners really that spoiled for choice?
Best restaurant in town.
Excellent with all types of allergies.
Worth minimum 1 Michelin star.
I go to les 110 de taillevent at least once a week. And, every person that I took there loved it and can’t stop talking about their amazing food and the fantastic list of wine.
An absolute sensation Les 110 de Taillevent is a very very fine restaurant.
Great service and food
Ambiance is relaxing and noise level very moderate so great for decent conversations while enjoying suculent French plats
As usual it was great!
Simply a fantastic meal as always. Some of the best cooking in London at the moment.
Superb: amazing veggie tasting menu - not on the website but some accomplished dishes. Omnivore tasting excellent too - lobster spelt risotto was perfection and lamb dish superb too. Great service, good pacing (no empty gaps) and a great burgundy list (the big wine list is requestable and well worth it). Sommelier very helpful - finding us a true gem.
I have been here now 6 or 8 times.Isn't that the strongest recommendation I can give ? And will be back again next week !
Continues to be my go to for work lunches, elegant interior, attentive service, interesting and good value set lunches, and pleasingly quiet for conversation.
The service was perfect. They are alway caring about guest. Food was served at the best timing. It's not so cheep. But I would like to come back on any special occasion.
Such an impressive wine list and the food was acceptable. Very knowledgeable service. I really enjoyed the experience although v expensive due to clever wine measures.
The lunch menu was value for money. The service was efficient, and didn't take us too long to wait for meals, unlike some of the restaurants. It was nice, pleasant, decent quality of food. Would revisit or recommend to friends.
110 de Taillevent offered wonderful lunch set menu, very good value indeed. Service was excellent and the food was really lovely. Highly recommended!
A classy venue with a really good choices of matched wines with a well-thought menu.
Good service. Good food. No wow factor. Does not stand out from any other place
This restaurant once again lived up to my past experience which is why I am a regular visitor!
The tasting menu was extremely good and excellent at all points with a well chosen wine pairing to go with it. The staff were also a model of unobtrusive efficiency.
This was our first visit following a recommendation from a friend. Loved from the start the atmosphere and the decor - classy, understated and intimate. Service was excellent - attentive, courteous and unobtrusive throughout. Sadly the food can be best described as inconsistent. We had spelt risotto, crab remoulade and octopus for starters. The octopus was the winner and spelt risotto not far behind, although my friend thought the lobster piece was a bit chewy. Crab dish arrived beautifully presented but turned out too cold, in fact, some bits of radish and celeriac were frozen solid and crunched like icicles. When we brought up the issue the dish was replaced a few minutes later with a slightly warmer and more enjoyable version and it was later taken off the bill. For main course we had bouillabaisse, duck pie and wild seabass. The seabass was delicious and so was the bouillabaisse, although it looked nothing like this traditional French dish. The duck pie came with some mushrooms and a side salad. The mushrooms were nice but the pie lacked any seasoning or flavour and could not be saved by the rouennaise sauce. Ultimately it was diced duck meat en croute with a piece of duck liver (NOT fois gras by any stretch of imagination) in the middle. The salad leaves it arrived with were poorly matched to the dish and deserve to be forgotten. Overall, the place has the makings to be great but needs to focus on consistency of execution. Not Michelin star food quality yet. The portions could be a tad more generous as well for the price.
Excellent set lunch - in a restaurant we had not visited before: very seasonal and well executed pea veloute and sea bream and extremely good value.
Tremendous value - sublime setting at the bar - just staring at racks and racks of top class wines. Adore it!
I had a business lunch last week and as the restaurant was close to the supplier’s office, and I had past experience of the food there, it was the perfect location. We were served efficiently by very attentive staff. We chose the 5 course tasting menu which was both excellent and very good value for money. As a favourite spot of mine, both in London and Paris, it is certainly somewhere I will be returning to.
Great food and wine selection.
Very good menu for lunch but also the a la carte was good. Definitely a great spot when you are in central london close to Oxford street.
