Amazing staff. Very helpful and friendly. Very courteous. Food was good.
Food, service, ambiance, ... everything was perfect, thank you!
Simply superb food served by very attentive staff. The chateaubriand was outstanding.
Great food, great value, great staff, great ambience! Loved it.
A very cosy restaurant that has a fantastic ambience. The service was good and the presentation of the food was great. However the food that we have ordered has been too salty and we felt very thirsty after the meal. It’s not healthy either to have so much salt in food.
High quality food made with real skill and served with exemplar hospitality. French chefs should be proud (jealous) for this Escargot. Fabulous.
Love this traditional French restaurant- perfect service and food
Ate at 5pm before theatre. I ordered lobster bisque, confit duck and chocolate fondant from the offer menu, my French partner had tournedos rossini. All delicious - over generous with the soup! Great service but no one speaking French...
An excellent Soho restaurant, very high quality food.
The lobster and avocado special was beautiful, taste and texture were just right. The wine list is not cheap, but holds many lovely wines, including by the glass.
The greatest French Onion Soup I have ever eaten in my life! Excellent food and great service. The OpenTable menu is very good value for money.
A must-have entry for any decent black-book of where to dine in style when in London.
The legendary institution delivered with impeccable charm and service, as well as superb food and wine.
Excellent experience, we’ve holiday in Provence on numerous occasions and have eaten some wonderful food in small backstreet bistros and larger expensive restaurants too, generally the food in France offers great value for money and the wine is cheaper but we expected to pay more in ten uk and it was worth every penny. Would highly recommend and would definitely return if in London again.
We really enjoyed our evening at L’Escargot. Delicious food and very friendly service. Always enjoyable.
Another good experience, and my friend was given a special plate of petit fours at the end for his 70th birthday, which was a nice touch.
A very nice evening celebrating my partners birthday. The food service & ambience was great.
Within 5 minutes of mentioning it was my partners birthday she was presented with a complimentary glass of sparkling followed by enough chocolates for the whole party presented on a plate decorated with a Happy Birthday message & candle.
Pre theatre meal for four. We chose from the set menu. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive.
This seems to be a restaurant mostly for tourists or people who don't know better. Very average food and shabby interior together with acoustics that produced constant loud noise didn't make for a pleasant experience. On the plus side the staff were good.
Great value set lunch menu, service and ambience. Not so great value on wine.
Great food, lovely service and very ambient environment.
I have decided that this is certainly one of my favourite places to eat in London. It’s so relaxed and the service is perfection. I highly recommend the house wine, good and quaffable. The food is delicious love the cheese platter.
It’s a perfect place to go after Brexit for some French comfort.
A stranger gave us this recommendation and we are so glad we listened! Everything was amazing from the coziness yet liveliness of the room and music, to the great waiter and of course the amazing food. He gave wonderful advice on meal choices and most of all seemed to love his job and enjoy us. This was a complete experience!
We went here for our wedding anniversary and the welcome was lovely. Service and food was excellent. The only down side was the cleanliness of the ladies toilet and also there was a dog in the restaurant which was being fed at the table. Not seen that before so was a bit bemused by it. Overall I would go back again but not immediately
Cosy, intimate place with fantastic food and service
Delicious food and brilliant service. From the minute we arrived to when we left. Delicious cocktails, extremely garlicky snails and melt in the mouth steak! A must try!
Great food and atmosphere with excellent service .
I have been going to l’escargot for 20 years and whilst the decor has changed considerably, the quality of food and service remains consistently outstanding. On Saturday night despite being busy the waiter was attentive without being being overly so, efficient, helpful and provided an excellent level of service. Always found the wine list a little overpriced but in contrast the food remains good value for this high end restaurant. Never disappoints and highly recommended.
Great cocktails; great vibe; great snails; steak was a fraction overdone but all in all a very enjoyable Friday night.
Nice atmosphere. As a burgundy man I am not sure the way snails are prepared are exactly the french way!. Usually no butter sauce in between the shells ... that’s absolutely a no go in France
Booked for 5.30 for a pre Ballet meal. Vibe is authentically French, low lit and nicely lived in without being shabby. Food was lovely, cracking french onion soup to start had a strong crouton/cheese/soup ratio; cod and lentil main was perfectly delicious but confit duck with savoy cabbage and a side of dauphinois stood out. Chocolate fondant pud was suitably gluttonous and a nice touch to have petit fours at the end. What made the meal was the service though. Attentive without being suffocating, helpful and humorous James (if I remember correctly) was brilliant. Will 100pc be going back when we're next Soho way.
A delicious pre theatre dinner thank you. We look forward to visiting again.
Always a pleasure to dine at l'Escargot, delicious food, attentive service and good fun too.
Lovely environment. Nice to have plenty of space between the tables. Good service, relaxed but efficient. Super food
Quite cosy place, but a bit impersonal service and food that lacked this “extra” I normally find in a French bistro. The foie gras terrine was very good (still over priced), the onion soup tasted as expected but the beef tartare looked like wet dog food. I’m sad to say, but for this cost level I expect much more.
Last minute booking after looking for a nice restaurant near the Phoenix Theatre. It was a delight. Very cosy and smart but not pretentious. We took the Menu fixe and it was really good value. Quality food nicely served and plenty too. All very tasty. At £19 for two courses and 22 for three it was great value. We lived in Paris and this food was just as good, if not better, than Bistros we frequented and paid 30euro plus for three smallish courses.
Congratulations and we’ll be back when we’re next in town.
Lovely meal, if a little salty. Lovely wine, ambience and service. Would recommend!
Atmosfera e cucina francese a Soho. Ristorante in stile classico, con tanto di caminetto. Accoglienza e servizio professionali. Pietanze francesi in ambiente rilassante.
