I've been to Levan a few times. My most recent visit was less good than previously - the decent wine prices have now become extortionate. I found myself ordering from a very small selection of wines under £35 per bottle and was underwhelmed by the quality. Shame, the original model for this restaurant was better for me. Food good bar one dish which was pure butter and salt.
Best aubergine dish I have ever eaten. They work magic with ingredients.
A fabulous neighbourhood restaurant with great food and a warm and friendly ambience. I can’t recommend it enough! A wonderful addition to Peckham ... it fits into this cool neighbourhood perfectly.
Another fabulous meal at Levan. We took our daughter and her boyfriend for her 18th birthday. Food was excellent and service was attentive and friendly. Absolutely love the food here. This was our first time not sitting near the kitchen as there were 4 of us. We love being able to watch the chefs at work but this was still a lovely experience.
Nice atmosphere, good music, and good wine selection. Small to large plates 'for sharing' but far more pleasurable to keep for yourself. Good choice for vegetarian / vegan, although instagram over promises.
Stand out dishes include, featherblade tartare, and the glazed aubergine. Subconsciously pays homage to the great restaurants (and cuisines) of London, while adding its own elevation.
Absolutely loved it! Amazing meal, so many interesting flavours and really helpful staff. Can't wait to go back!
Outstanding as always
Awesome food and great atmosphere at this gem of a restaurant! Service could have been a little warmer, but overall looking forward to be back!
Good, but not as great as sister restaurant Salon in Brixton. We unfortunately had to wait for our reserved table, squeezed by the front door, for 15 minutes as the previous party hadn’t finished. Great atmosphere and generally good service, although we felt rushed at times, with plates being cleared before we had finished and not much breathing times between courses. We really wanted to love this place, but it sadly didn’t live up to our expectations.
Great food and friendly service! I will definitely come back - Aubergine and croque monsieur were fantastic!
Exceptionally good food but portions are tiny . You need to order 5 or 6 dishes between two so bear this in mind when working out the cost. Good choice for vegetarians and vegans.
My husband and I had a wonderful lunch here. Couldn’t fault it. Every dish and mouthful was delicious, lovely presentation, intimate and stylish decor, intriguing and wonderful wine list, knowledgeable and welcoming staff. The bill added up but we had a wonderful time so worth the dosh! Hopefully we’ll be returning.
Great food, wine and service as always!
I found out about the restaurant from an app Lefooding on IG. I knew I’d be traveling to London and went on a whim. The food was delicious and service could not have been better. Can’t wait to go back. Loved the energy of this restaurant.
Jut disappointed. Maybe I had too high expectations. The food was disappointing from my point of view and the value for money is not there. They're trying too hard and if you compare with local restaurants like the Begging Bowl or Artusi, it's just not the same leve of quality or value for money.
Long live Levan. Larry would be proud. The whole family enjoyed it and we will back.
Fresh, light, clean food (recommend the sharing plates and snacks) with attentive, knowledgable service and a fantastic biodynamic wine list
Wasn’t sure about one of the desserts, but otherwise the food was delicious and service excellent. Also enjoyed the wine selection. On the pricey side, but a very good meal.
We came for a birthday lunch (for me!) and really enjoyed our meal. It was quiet in the restaurant but they said we could not sit at the bar to watch what was going on in the kitchen, possibly because the bar was being used as an extra work surface. A shame as it all looked so interesting! Food was fresh light and delicious. From memory we had a fabulous grilled little gem salad with an unusual pistachio aioli, very tasty. We had sweetcorn fritters with a Ponzu dipping sauce- just 2 of these but I’m sure we could have scoffed more, they were very addictive. London Burrata with a chilli and toasted walnut dressing (?) was pleasant but I would’ve liked a sharp element on the plate, and I think the dressing could’ve been a little more aromatic. Tagliatelle with courgette and pesto tasted as expected but with a lively freshness to the herbs. Out of pure greed we also ordered the potato galette with side salad. The Galette came wrapped in puff pastry which I really didn’t think it needed, however the potatoes were perfectly seasoned, tender and wonderfully savoury, and the dressing on the salad was a excellent foil to the richness of the main dish. We finished with white chocolate and raspberry macaroons – sadly the filling just wasn’t sharp enough for me so I found these a bit disappointing. A glass of French rose disappeared quickly, I could have easily had another and fresh mint tea and was a calming ending to the meal. Service could have been a little warmer, I felt our waiter was a bit too cool for school but we managed to get him smiling by the end. I will be back to try more dishes!
A lovely place we have been keen to try. There was nothing wrong as such but we were just a little underwhelmed by the food offering (apart from the burrata, which was lovely).
Great food, great service and a good atmosphere. Looking forward to going back!
We had another fantastic experience at Levan on Saturday night. Amazing customer service as always, an interesting wine list and a range of delicious and surprising dishes.
We had a delightful meal with a variety of dishes all shared between 4 of us.
There were so many tastes it was hard to make a judgment about these as also between 4 you don’t get a very big portion though on the whole it was very good. Comte fries simply not enough of. Squid dish was probably the best tasting. Some disappointment in that bread was not more freely available and generally portions not big enough to enjoy as sharing plates between 4 which was our mistake. I would definitely return to Levan but would choose more wisely. Service excellent, varied wine list atmosphere lovely.
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. We sat at the counter by the kitchen which I would strongly recommend! Looking forward to returning again!
I had high hopes for this but didn’t live up to them sadly. We were served by a man who told us how many dishes to order (which seemed a lot given the prices of the dishes) and after taking a look we settled on slightly fewer. The reaction we got back was very abrupt, and frankly sulky - and immediately set a bad tone for our lunch. The food when it did arrive was more than enough - it was tasty and fairly big but expensive and not particularly special for ‘small plates’ in my opinion. Our final dish (cold) also seemed to be forgotten and we had to chase. All round not great and I didn’t feel it was good value for money. I will say the other ladies who served us were lovely and attentive but I won’t be rushing back.
Brilliant as always. One of our favourite places to eat. Staff are attentive but relaxed and the food is always excellent.
Great food, excellent service, several memorable dishes
Wow! What a find.
The most delicious and innovative food. Intriguing menu, sharing plate style. The Comte chips unbelievable and the glazed aubergine a revelation.
Charming, efficient and informed service despite the laid back vibe.
Nice food but just not enough of it. It's all well and good the waiting staff suggesting 6 or 7 small plates per couple but it's not enough to feel like a meal and works out really expensive if you keep adding more. It felt like a table of snacks and smears of things.
There was the option of large plates but there wasn't a lot of choice on the menu.
The staff were pleasant, although were less interested in us when they realised we weren't drinking alcohol.
The Peckham shabby chic thing is just a bit passé now or maybe I'm not their target diner!
Probably one of the best restaurants in London I have been to. Food was delicious, the products were really enhanced. Most of the dishes are relatively "simple", but executed perfectly. Staff is lovely, and drinks are amazing. Try the comte fries, the burrate with pickled peaches and hazelnuts, and the nectarine tarte tatin!
Mostly wonderful staff, although some were less communicative about asking about our meal than others. Great food, although coffee was mighty strong.
Chef's table fantastic, great service. Recommended
Levan's imaginative sharing menu is exactly how I like to eat. The visually exquisite dishes promised much and absolutely delivered. Flavours ranged from succulent sweetbreads with a south east asian isluenced to aromatic aubergine served whole with almond cream and zingy salsa and there were plenty of choices for our two gf diners. We loved the easy ambiance imbued with hints of 70's retro vinyl and hi fi. Waiting staff gave made us feel like family guests, welcoming us by name as we arrived, and helping us pick our way through the inventive menu.
We headed for dinner with girlfriends having heard rave reviews. We had pre booked which I think is essential. Our table wasn’t quite ready so we were invited to have a drink whilst we waited - so far so good; someone came almost immediately to take our drinks order and we hadn’t had a chance to take in the extensive menu. We asked for a couple more minutes but no one came back! Our table was late and no one came again to take a drinks order until they came to take the food order. We tried the Italian rosé and weren’t keen on it. When it came to ordering another glass we weren’t sure and asked for some advice and were kindly offered something off the menu - a delicious south of France rosé which was perfect. That needs to be added to the drinks menu permanently as a by the glass / carafe option!
Food wise it was all outstanding. They recommend 3+ dishes per person and the menu is very much a sharing menu. The salt cod beinets was excellent as was the smoked mackerel pâté. Baby gem lettuce with pistachios unusual and delicious, an incredibly generous creamy burrata with peach was sublime and we also opted for the pork chop which was stand out.
The chocolate mousse for dessert with cherry sorbet was rich and velvety but the serving was far far too much even when shared. We were expecting it to be a fraction of the size!
Service was hit or miss with some incredibly attentive knowledgeable people but also a rather irritatingly glum and unfriendly woman within the team. Hopefully she was just having an off day. We will return. It’s definitely more for a special occasion or date night as the costs quickly mount up making it fairly expensive but for us it’s a perfect alternative to heading into town for a vibrant fun dining experience with a short walk home.
Always incredible food and fantastic service 🥰
Outstanding, great service & delicious food. Featherblade tartare and sweetbreads we’re particular favourites
Excellent dishes with a great flavour profile for each dish!
One of the best meals I have had in my whole entire life, highly recommended sc
Fantastic in every way. So happy to have as a local restaurant. Lovely and well informed staff. Delicious food.
