The food is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is casual. Highly recommend ottoman rice, lamp chops, hummus.
The food was delicious! Service was warm and friendly. Wasn’t very busy the night we went so can’t really speak to the noise level. If you’re a chocolate lover, the chocolate soufflé is a must!
Great place. My one suggestion would be to have the waitstaff be more relaxed. At times a bit pushy about ordering.
Manny is an outstanding waiter.
Very slow service
Excellent food; nice service; very quiet
Casual date spot!
Everything (food, service, drinks) was amazing, but consider dimming the lights.
Great dining experience. Excellent food and service.
Hello, thank you very much for your nice review. We are looking to see you again.
Cute place! Came here for a dinner date before an event at the Kennedy Center. Service attentive and friendly; food attractively presented. Ordered the Turkish Coffee, Raki, Shepherd Salad, Muhammara, Grape Leaves, Halloumi, and Stuffed roasted Eggplant -- more than enough for two people. Muhammara was a bit under-seasoned and mild for our tastes, but still satisfying. Bonus that the cafe has a few ingredients local to the region -- we got some hot peppers to make a bit of a spicier version of Muhammara at home. Would go back!
Hello Rachel, thank you very much for your nice review. We always try to do our best for our customers. Next time we want to see you with your friends. Hope to see you soon
Our friend who lives close by, suggested Leziz for dinner. We trusted his culinary taste buds because he is like us. We let him pick the dishes and we had seconds and thirds! Did I say it was that GOOD? Well, it OUTSTANDING. Do you think that we are going to repeat the place? You BET WE ARE!!
Thank you for that wonderful and delightful experience.
There are too many great restaurants in DC to subject yourself to stale food bordering on inedible, cold appetizers that should be hot, wait staff who clearly don’t want to be there, and an overall experience that felt like we were in a movie about bad food. Spend your money for a decent meal. I will not return to Leziz.
Fantastic, delicious food rich with unique Turkish flavor combinations and perfectly grilled lamb, with excellent service.
We came for brunch on a Saturday as a group of 4. We tried many of the dishes and were impressed with them all. Great place to meet with friends for something a little different, yet delicious!
Had a great time at Lesiz Restaurant and enjoyed the Turkish food a lot. Lesiz has a great customer service and a warming setting.
A bit pricy for what it is. Went for brunch. It’s a very cute cafe and well decorated. Food was presented nicely. Coffee was delicious.
Very good overall. The food was good and the service and ambiance were great.
The food was great, and they were able to accommodate a couple of additions to our reservation. The only downside is that there was one meze item that didn’t indicate it had wheat flour, much to the dismay of one of my dining companions with celiac disease.
Saturday brunch menu was pretty limited in variety an choice. We, a group of four, expected to have a good lunch but was disappointed. There was only one vegetarian sandwich in the Sandwich section. It is rather inconvenient to be offered such a limited brunch menu on weekends. We generally enjoy having dinner at Leziz and have recommended the restaurant to many of your friends, but would not recommend it for weekend brunch.
Even if the food is spectacular, I will always think twice about going back to a place if the service is not good. And that was our experience - the 2 girls in charge of the place were not even that busy on a Saturday night, but they made sure to be very unhelpful and impatient. The food was great, but not warm enough and it made us think twice to complain, since they were not nice at all. The whole experience failed and it is a shame.
Terrible hosts and service. The girl who served us was rude, smug, and didn't bother to check on us during our dinner. We had to ask for water refills. Truly disappointing when the food was so good.
The food is just bland. I’ve had Turkish food before and this was just so so.
Leziz is a gem. Among the many Turkish restaurants in the Washington area, it's top tier - with exquisite food, an unusually broad wine, beer and raki selection, and good value.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in DC; we try to have dinner here every time we’re in town. The staff is friendly and professional, their service is very good without being overbearing, and their Mediterranean menu is excellent. I highly recommend.
Overall a good Turkish restaurant. Menu is limited and looks like it changes day by day. If you a special food restrictions, they don’t have any substitute dishes. Mezzes were great. Portion vs cost on higher side. Ambience and service was great.
We've had good experiences in the past with Leziz and its prior incarnation, Ezme. But this visit was disappointing. We ordered numerous dishes, and most were nothing special. Several were less tasty than they had been in the past. Service was uneven and not up to their usual friendly standard. We're hoping that this was just an off night -- this has been such a nice restaurant to have in the neighborhood.
Nice and quiet restaurant. The food and service are great.
Great meal. Portions a little smaller than expected. Didn't have cream for coffee when I asked... but they ran across the street to buy some for me!
Delicious. Splurge for the tasting menu!
I thought it was quite good. It didn’t have a huge selection. But everything was a bit unusual and quite tasty.
A delicious and delightful addition to the DuPont Circle neighborhood!
The food was good and portion were fine. I didn't like the bread and I thought the hummus was very bland. I'm using to other Turkish restaurants that puffy warm pides, and this wasn't that. We had three different lamb or eggplant dishes and they were all very good. The grape leaves were also good and the wine list was fine. If you're in the Dupont Circle area and want a decent restaurant and a quiet place to have a conversation, you'll enjoy it.
Cozy restaurant with authentic ambiance with real Turkish decor and small area of Turkish treats, meats and cheeses/dairy and condiments for sale.
Food and beverages were genuine Turkish, and tasty.
Service was attentive.
Love this place! Fantastic foods all around. Formerly known as Ezmè (same fantasitc food).
The hubby and I had a great meal. The staff was attentive and polite, the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant and the food was delicious. You should try it; you won’t be disappointed!
My wife and visited Leziz Cafe, I order bronzini and my wife order salmon. Both the fishes were fresh and indeed tasty. The food is very delicious and the service is awesome. You cannot go wrong with Leziz. Highly recommend it!
Unfortunately Leziz is not nearly as good as Ezme was. While the menu items remain the same, their preparation is poorer, and items that used to be 7 dollar tapas are now 18 dollar entrees - with the only noticeable difference being the addition of rice. It’s too bad, since Ezme was some of the only good Turkish in town!
Delicious food, quiet and lovely atmosphere--a real neighborhood gem! We had several tapas and everything was excellent. The humus was served with warm homemade bread, the dolma and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. We enjoyed the levraki, the shrimp special, and the kofte. Portions were generous and large enough to share. My only disappointment is that the baklava is made with pistachio nuts--I prefer walnut baklava. We live down the block and come here often--we consider ourselves lucky to have such an excellent Turkish restaurant so close by. It is worth traveling to come here--you won't be disappointed!
Excellent tasty food and courteous and caring service. Food was superior to most restaurants. Anytime that we will be visiting Washington, I will make certain to eat at Leziz.
Leziz is the latest renewal of what was most recently Ezme - it's in the same location on P Street. The chef has made changes to the menu, and the space has been remodeled (although some of the old chairs remain). The overall result is very good. Good Turkish wine options. The food is fresh and tasty. When I was there the service was a bit uneven, but they may have been short-staffed on a very busy night of holiday gatherings. I am glad the old crew is back in the space.
