Situated on the ground floor of the old Fade Street Tenements l’Gueuleton is a combination of exposed red brick walls, industrial beams, copper ceilings and wood floors.
The setting was gorgeous, drinks divine, food excellent but service wasn't great, it was a Friday evening and I think they were very busy but the service wasn't fantastic, but not terrible, staff were lovely just overwhelmed I think. Would definitely go back.
Excellent outdoor area
Meal was up to L’Gueuleton’s usual high standard. Service was friendly & professional.
THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. Best steak ever. Yummy cocktails. x
As the restaurant was booked out the staff were rushed & drinks took a while. In spite of this I still thought they did a good job overall and it was a good dining experience
Amazing brunch! A great choice for Covid-19 era Dublin, as there is an abundance of outdoor seating available. I had the eggs royal which was just delicious, I also enjoyed my Aperol spritz. The rest of our group of four all loved it too. Cocktails not cheap but overall, not bad value. Will be coming back!
We had a very enjoyable dinner there. The food was simply wonderful, excellent quality and generous portions. Great cocktails to start - distinctive house 'takes' on traditional cocktail recipes (yum) - and wonderful prawns as a starter for me, and my husband loved the Duck Confit croquets (he didn't share lol!) For main course, he ordered a steak and chips and I delved into the seafood pot, which was divine. Accompanied by a wonderful french red ... oh, ok, two bottles of red.
We highly recommend L'Gueleton, great food and the team are amazing. Please support local restaurants in this difficult time, we'll be back when we can.
In the meantime, take care guys and keep on keeping on!
Love the remodel - there is loads of space. We were there for brunch and I highly recommend the Crab Cake Benedict as well as the Old Fashioned cocktail.
Very good food and nice atmosphere. Will go again for sure
Great place for a brunch or dinner, New York vibe with a Parisien style menu.
lovely restaurant, in general staff particularly in the restaurant part were nice and friendly. The food was tasty and of good quality. It was a little cold in the restaurant and quite cold in the bar. Other than that I enjoyed it, liked the atmosphere and the decor. Would receommend it and would happily go back.
Good food, great menu and great service. Only complaint is that the food was a bit too salty for my liking.
Table was rickety but didn’t cause a problem at all. food excellent
Staff were so accommodating, friendly and really knew there stuff. Was a struggle to decide what to order because everything on the menu sounded so good. Will definitely be back
Amazing food. Service is a bit slow, but as long as you're not in a hurry to go somewhere else, you can easily enjoy.
Even the coffee tasted dodgy - I just paid and went somewhere else
Authentic French cuisine in cool surrounds. A must try!
Excellent food, location and overall ambiance! The waiter we had did not want to be there though, which ruined the experience.
Outstanding is really the only word to describe our experience at this restaurant. Hadn't been for years having moved out of town but needed somewhere to host friends over for a night and knew this would be a good spot. Buzzy, warm, vibrant and cheery and of course the food was just incredible. Very good value too. Will not leave it so long to return.
Good atmospheres great service amazing food will definitely be back
We went here to celebrate 2 of the families birthdays. The food was really good especially the pate. Our waitress was lovely and nothing was a problem for her. I love a full restaurant as I think it adds to the ambiance. Overall a very enjoyable night.
If I could give this restaurant minus stars rather than 1 star. Actually can't get over the lack of customer service we received. I had heard great reviews about this place and so decided to book after looking at the menu online. When we got there they handed us a completely different menu which is no biggie. The only vegetarian option was either mushrooms on toast (roughly €15) or baked eggs. I am not a fussy vegetarian but mushrooms on toast is like something someone would eat approaching pay day after Christmas. I asked could I order something off their menu on the website as the pancakes looked delish on that menu. I was told no and the waiter whipped the menu's back out of our hands. We awkwardly left. Would not recommend this place to any vegetarian/ vegan or meat eaters who like good, friendly or pleasant service
Excellent. A group of 6 of us had the most enjoyable night. Food was unbelievable, I’m still dreaming of the truffle fries!!
Every single one of us had a brilliant dining experience. Again food was outstanding. Thanks for a great night l’gueleton
The food was nice, if a bit overpriced. Wine was fairly priced. However, the restaurant is cold and I was amazed at the number of people eating with their coats on. This means that your food gets cold very quickly and is unpleasant. Also, watch your bill as we were overcharged twice and there was not a hint of an apology.
Great food but the old table we were are wasnt great for my legs. I could barley get my legs under. But i will be back!
Dreadful service. We spent half the meal trying to catch a waitress' eye (as they all stood with their backs to us). Every single opportunity where the staff should have been attentive they were not. It was just awful! And the toilets were disgusting.
Yes, I really enjoyed my visit to l'Gueuleton. The only complaint I would have was that service was quite slow. Our order was slow to be taken at the start and then it was hard to get our coffees ordered at the end.
Good night out with friends. Good, service, ambience. A bit perturbed in advance to hear that there were set time limits for dining, depending on numbers in the party, but in the end we weren't rushed out. Will return.
Lovely restaurant. Good French food. Great atmosphere. The only problem for me is the music, loud with a stumping bass.
Food was poor. Had eggs with mushrooms on sourdough. The mushrooms were cooked in cream and put on top so the bread was soggy. Eggs were undercooked and the french toast desert was not nice. Very overpriced for what we got.
Nice rustic decor, great atmosphere.
I really enjoyed the meal. Having heard excellent reports from friends and family, I was excited to finally have the opportunity to eat at L’Gueuleton and the experience met and even exceeded the expectations. The scallop starter was unusual and slightly insipid if each part was eaten separately. However, by tasting together, all three parts of the deconstructed dish, they worked magically and I’d never have dreamt of the taste combination. The main course of brill with pistachio crust was the star dish though. Everything worked well together and the portion size was adequate. I didn’t have a dessert but I enjoyed a nice light glass of Picpoul with my fish. Service was excellent and came with a smile. When I booked, I had a message with a warning about the venue becoming a late bar on weekends, however we booked for 8.00pm and there were no issues with music drowning out the conversation.
For whatever reason, it's hard to find cocktails and food under the same roof in Dublin. As one of the few places where this is possible, we're glad to have found it. But after expecting to be blown away (based on reviews), we left somewhat underwhelmed. We were anticipating a smaller, more rustic French-style bistro with a really unique menu, and instead got okay food (bone marrow burger sounded incredible, but tasted like any other slightly dry / overcooked burger) at something that felt a bit like a mass-marketed chain. Not bad, but not what we were hoping for either.
Excellent staff, tasty food made with care. Suits all occasions -date/ family/ friends etc
Lovely service and gorgeous food
Lovely atmosphere. Food very expensive
Always guaranteed a delicious meal and a lovely vibe.
Excellent meal with great service in a lovely setting. Great buzz about the place in the week before Xmas. Music a little too loud but will definitely be back
I’ve always enjoyed L’Gueleton over the years. Seeing it as an old reliable. But the Xmas menu was really really disappointing. The carrot salad was burnt. The duck main was ok. And my creme Brulée was scrambled!
Lovely food and atmosphere. Loved the endless sparkling water for only €1! Staff were very attentive and the overall experience was great.
