LiAise Bistro was set up by 2 local brothers Lee and Adam with their partners Claire and Tracey…so a family run business, which is picked up in the atmosphere of this little gem in the heart of Newton Abbot.
Excellent food, great service. We had a great time and am looking forward to going again.
Food is amazing, we had the pulled pork burger - absolutely incredible, great portion sizes and fantastic value.
Lovely little restaurant perfect for a cosy meal or catch up with friends. Went here for valentines, service was friendly but we felt it was rather slow for a place that wasn’t overly packed. Have been informed that there is only one chef so this makes it more understandable. I have been here before at lunchtimes with friends and the overall atmosphere has been much better so maybe this was just a one off :) the food was not quite as nice as I expected but it has been better before so I’m guessing it’s all personal taste!
Overall would reccomend to people and hopefully LiAise will continue to prosper!
Fantastic service and delicious food!
Perfectly cooked and both waiters were very helpful.
Lovely food great value for money the best in Newton abbot
Great food, my partner has special dietary needs and the chef was happy to customise her meal.
Can thoroughly recommend Liase, staff friendly and helpful.
lively atmosphere. Food plentiful and cooked to order.
There is a new menu, but still a good choice.
I had the mixed grill cooked to perfection, generous portions.
An excellent choice of cocktails that slipped down a little too easily.
A little gem
We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday roast, the food was amazing, fantastic service, would most defiantly recommend.
Good foot great service, good value, what’s not to like 👍
Good food at a fair price, the chef took time to discuss gluten free options and we were seated in a warm cosy corner on a cold night.
Superb place to eat and drink in a relaxed atmosphere
Enjoyable evening overall. Food great, service great and music great. Adam as usual was his usual attentive self making you feel really welcome. Will definitely be going again.
Exceptional service from the entire staff made our visit wonderful!
A group of 6 of us came to Liase on Saturday night for the 80's evening. When we arrived the restaurant was only half full and only a handful of people in fancy dress - but that didn't bother us.
2 of us had ordered the retro menu that was available, i have to say i had no complaints with my food and actually really enjoyed it, £15 for 3 courses was great value.
We all ordered the retro cocktails priced at £4 when they arrived they were in the smallest glasses and it was gone after 2 sips.
The rest of the group ordered off the normal menu, for what they had i think the food was quite overpriced and very small portion sizes.
As they evening went on there was a live singer which was very good.
The 2 of us that had the 3 course menu didn't receive our desert - not sure why as it wasn't overly busy when asked we were told we could take it home not ideal when on a night out so unfortunately we never had it.
Then it came to paying the very expensive bill - on closer inspection we worked out that we had been overcharged by almost £40. Again when questioned you said it was down to the computer? anyway this was then rectified. If we weren't having such a good evening i would have been very disappointed with my visit.
All in all not the best experience. I don't usually leave reviews but felt this one was needed. I would like to add though that the staff were lovely and the review is not about them just the food and restaurant in general.
Great venue for any occasion from a coffee to special occasion. Fantastic owner/ chef and staff very accommodating to all needs . Friendly atmosphere great food highly recommended
Disappointed, was expecting it to be a vibrant restaurant, but it was more like a cafe atmosphere and setting. The menu was very limited with little selection on it and to make matters worse the waitress informs us that some of these were limited in number or not available.
We have no complaints about the food or service, we were very disappointment with the ambiance and the fact that young children were booked in and playing around on a Saturday night. We were looking for a weekend meal out that we could remember.
I recently went here for my birthday and had a fantastic time! The staff were so friendly and approachable. My friend who is gluten free had plenty of fantastic options to choose from and the chef took time to come out and talk to us. Very good food and very good ambience! Loved it.
Fantastic personal service as usual, had a taste of the new menu and had 20% off . I had the triple stack burger which was very tasty and my wife the lamb , which was a little too fatty for her liking. Also both dishes could have been served a bit hotter as they were about lukewarm when served. Have been before and will visit again , as prices are reasonable and service is great. 👍
our first visit will be back food was very good, staff very friendly lovley Bistro worth a visit
Went here for a 30th birthday and Wes very disappointed. We had 3 courses, 1st course Wes garlic prawns with were from frozen and were very small (not king prawns as advertised) and were over cooked. Main course I had a steak with the waiter had to go and get from Asda and was full of grissal and was over cooked and I'm sure wasn't a sirloin as asked as it was as tough as old boots. My wife ordered the burger with tasted incredibly cheap and not nice at all but I will say the fries and the chunky chips were amazing, but not £30 amazing. Then we asked what puddings they had on offer as it was a special occasion and we were offered a hot fruit crumble( in 30 degrees heat) or ice cream, that's it. The staff were great and we felt very welcome but hardly any food on the menu and some of the quality of ingredients were very poor.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and was brilliant value for money. Will definitely be returning again
Nine of us went here on a works get together, we all had a great time! Everyone enjoyed their food, good portion sizes. Quite pricey but it was good quality and well cooked.
Amazing cocktails. Super friendly and helpful staff. One member of our group had special food requirements and these were met by the chef who took time to come over and have a chat. Definitely recommend
Great food & great service as always. Good deal on steak night - 2 steaks & a bottle of very nice wine for £40. Girlie night to celebrate my birthday & we had a lovely time. The only thing we would like to see more of is puddings 😀 Great variety of gins & cocktails available too 🍸
Enjoyed a saturday night catching up with family. Absolutely enjoyed the venue, great food, conversation and hospitality. Would recommend the venue to all my friends and family.
Beautiful clean. Adam the co-owner was very friendly. Food was all locally sourced and fresh. Best steak I have ever eaten. Over all 10 out of 10. Will definitely be back and spread the word to others
We booked this last minute for 5 people and this was no problem. Food was great, service also could not be faulted and the owner came over for a chat before we left. Nice modern, lively bistro with a nice atmosphere.
Food Was amazing i had the pan fried hake which was ample served with baby veg and a pototoe gratan the sauce was out of this world.
my friend had the belly pork and again was ample him.
desserts limited but still very good
and enjoyed all the gins i think i counteed 15 or 16
Location is tricky, the lift was turned off and my nan had to walk down the stairs. Not a very nice part of town either. Nan enjoyed her food. My food was nice, the burger could have been a bit more meaty, it had a very processed texture to it. Lots of things came with the burger, but hardly anything came with the hake.
Had lunch here for an early Mother’s Day treat we had the cod and chips special which was excellent along with the curry and all the trimmings the food was excellent and nicely presented accompanied by a nice bottle of wine?
Staff friendly and a nice atmosphere we will be returning to try on of their evening events a very nice family owned and run establishment, well worth supporting.
Give this place a try recommended.
Haven't been before so thought I would try it for date night with the misses was cosy and very clean and also looked the part. The best but for me was that when I ordered the steak the chef came out and gave me a choice of 2 types of fillet that he had in and also how I wanted it cooked and reassured me it would be rare not medium rare like most places I go and the food was amazing. Had a good choice of drinks which even included my favourite dead man's finger rum which i have only ever seen in one other establishment. 5 star to this place I will be returning again
The restaurant was empty, not a good sign, there was a distinct lack of choice for starters or mains, due to a really busy lunch that day, ordered starters, only not to get them because the chef forgot to do them. Only one choice of lager because the other had run out, meal was well presented and cooked well, but didn't have a dessert because there was a choice of two only, no offer of cheese and biscuits or coffee, so paid and left, disappointed
Came in for a quick buisness meeting for a coffee great to get free wifi also had a spot of tapas service and food great
Came in for friends birthday breakfast. Breakfast was amazing and staff were very good and attentive.
booked a last minute table was made tro fell welcome and shown to our table.
we all had breakfast pancakes were to die for as was the scammbled egg with smoked salmon
