Liberty Street Bistro
Fun Fact: Chef and owner Michael Kelly has cut his teeth in some of NYC’s greatest kitchens, including Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery and Markus Glocker’s Batard. Now, he’s crafting his own menu, bringing classic fine dining into a bold new era!
Our new favorite restaurant! Food was amazing, service was great. We will definitely be back.
Lovely food, good service but all overshadowed by NOISE.
Even at 10 o’clock when we left and there were two small tables on the restaurant it was very loud.
I’m sure there are stylish ways of dampening sound these days
The food was delicious. The portions were too small. I was longing for more after the pasta course. Service was great and the atmosphere was great.
Thoroughly enjoyed beef tartare, octopus, ham hock terrine, rabbit garganelle and breast of veal. The service was very friendly and attentive and the presentation of the food was excellent. Great to see such a high-end and creative restaurant in downtown Newburgh.
My husband and I had dinner at Liberty Street to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Everything from the service to the food to the ambiance was fantastic! We both did the 4-course meal, with wine pairing. I loved the fact that you could choose each of your courses. The paired wines were perfect! And the servers were knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions. They even added personal touches of writing Happy Anniversary in chocolate on our dessert plates! Definitely recommend!
Always been amazed but the great menu, drinks, and waitstaff. We don't care to go anywhere else for date night.
So if you are looking for great cocktails and a fantastic menu with really good French inspired food this is the place for you. When you add in the amazing cocktails and I suggest doing so, the total amount due can grow quickly. I wouldn’t go here for everyday eating but certainly for a special experience with service and food that won’t let you down. This is the place.
We had a great brunch with friends. Delicious cocktails and great food. The duck confit sandwich was amazing! Service was a tad slow but not bad. Server was very friendly, but not a lot of personality. They had an issue getting some oysters for us, so they just gave us the one they could get open at no charge, so great customer service there! Overall a true gem in Newburgh!
Once again, we had an exceptional experience at Liberty St. We started with delicious cocktails in the new lounge. Jessica was friendly and inventive.
Zach was our server for the second time and he is a very knowledgeable, very pleasant guy to deal with.
The food is just amazing...flavor profiles are on point. Home made pasta is always a must. The floating island deserts were a huge hit.
Nice food. awful waitstaff..
couldn't deal with the 'tude...
wont be back
Sat at the bar and enjoyed delicious items from the bar menu. Will have full dinner there soon! The service was excellent, and I look forward to returning many times!
The past couple of times we went here I was very excited about the food and cocktail menu and it met my expectations. This visit the food was mediocre, especially for the price. Our server was lovely though.
Food was subpar - at best. The waffles were cakey & rather tasteless - as was the fried chicken skin.
Our second visit here, and and it was as good as the first. Dusk confit sandwich was tender, tangy and crunchy. Madame croque was to die for. Keep doing what you are doing!
Fantastic food in a very nice setting with Excellent service
I will definitely go back and will highly recommend
First time in Newburgh and possibly last time but not because of this dining experience.
Excellent menu preparation service and taste.
Amazing food and drinks. We've been to Liberty Street several times. It's the only place we go out to eat. Last time we ate there the chef was kind enough to come say hi. We love this local joint and will continue to support it.
Best food I have had in the Hudson Valley! All four courses were amazing, and Zach (our server) made the experience even more enjoyable. Hat’s off to the whole crew! It was nice to eat a meal where everything was made in-house. We will definitely be back. Hopefully the veal will still be on the menu (hint hint).
Not worth what you pay for. The food was okay, but overall many dishes were too salty and were trying to do too much. Disappointed.
Great food, as good as anything in Manhattan. Highly recommend it!
Sunday brunch is phenomenal! Highly recommend the avocado toast!!!!🤤😋
This is our favorite place for special occasions.
Birthday brunch everything was great.
I just had my second brunch experience with Liberty Street Bistro and I really enjoyed myself. I usually dine alone and I appreciate that it really has a city feeling which makes the atmosphere conducive to dining alone. They have all my brunch favorites. I’ve also been here for dinner and that was even better!
Loved Liberty Street Bistro. Everything about it from how we were greeted to ambience to the food and it’s presentation was perfect! The food was so amazing, tasty and fresh. Cannot wait to come back.
This place is as perfect as it gets. The wine pairing menu is amazing.
Best new restaurant in Newburgh-Beacon area with terrific food sourced mainly from local farms. Chef Michael Kelly aims to surprise and innovate without getting fancy or complicated. Each dish, each bite lingers and makes you focus on nuances and subtleties of cooking and ingredients. The kitchen makes their own pasta and bread and most everything. The bartenders are always experimenting with new cocktails. The wine list shines for its variety and moderate prices. Now that LBS expanded to create a bar-lounge area, it's become a fun place to hang out anytime of the week.
I have been to the Liberty Street Bistro several times for several different kinds of occasions. From Sunday brunches to special wine dinners, the food, service, ambiance (especially now that their space has expanded), and value have been wonderful.
Lovely restaurant. Great food!
Liberty Street Bistro is one of the most amazing restaurants I have been to! The food is incredible and the cocktail menu is like something from a magazine. The staff is delightful, and the entire experience while dining here is top notch. Highly recommended, and we will be returning many times!
Great restaurant. Interesting menu. Items that seem like they would be heavy aren’t, flavors or ingredients that you wouldn’t think would work together do. Service is great friendly. Can’t wait to go back.
Liberty Street Bistro is a must visit for foodies. The food is wonderfully prepared and fresh. The portions are small but each bite is out of this world. The variations of asparagus had four types of asparagus on a burrata with a citrus vinaigrette. It as so fresh and delicious. Service was amazing. We look forward to visiting again
We chose the 4 course menu option and everything we ate, we loved! Beef tartare melted in my mouth and the duck breast was so juicy and tender! Eclectic choices of desserts and a diverse wine and cocktail list. Bar area was beautiful and cozy, we will definitely be back!
A Special Place for The Hudson Valley
We did 3-course pairing and will always do so at Liberty Street Bistro. They just know how to perfectly match and compliment food and wine. Service was delightful and well-timed. We just thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We love the expansion as well! Nice new bar area with a relaxing setting. Dining area expanded and feels very comfortable. Congratulations on the expansion and THANK YOU for a wonderful night.
Second time here. Outstanding food & service. Very reasonable price for a 4 course meal using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Delicious turmeric cake - something different & not too sweet. Ambience is amazing - very nice for a date. Overall, excellent!
Liberty Street continues to outperform any of the local eateries -- Creative without being too fussy. A real gem that the Hudson Valley is lucky to have.
Had such a nice experience and will definitely be back in the near future!
Saturday brunch was SOOOOO good! I can't wait to go back for dinner.
The new wine bar is amazing! Looks like a trendy bar in Manhattan. The menu is unique and the service is outstanding.
We went for brunch. Beautiful view with the flowering trees at the moment. Great place, very good simple menu, tasty. We seemed to be ignored at the beginning and had to call the waiter. They did apologize, that is only reason for taking away one star. Other than that it's a great find and we hope to visit again when in the area.
