Lovely neighbourhood restaurant, low key and welcoming. The menu is not extensive but this is not a criticism. Everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and presented. The service is unpretentious. Feeding ‘Sammy’ the seal who arrived in the river outside the restaurant mid-meal was a highlight for the kids. This was our second time at The Lighthouse and we look forward to our next visit.

Food was excellent, party of 10 all happy! But some of the party were frustrated with slow service, having to call attention of staff several times before attended to and twice forgotten about. Will still revisit as food was lovely and may have just been particularly busy evening for staff.

A great place for a family Sunday lunch, zingy fresh seafood, friendly service and child friendly. Our 6 year old grandson declared it the best meal he had ever had in a restaurant!

Had a wonderful meal here. Chowder, monkfish, cod and chicken wings (!) were all amazing. Nice busy ambience to the place, friendly service. Highly recommended.

I suspect the oil used to cook the calamari was not the freshest, because while the squid inside was cooked to perfection, the batter tasted of greasy chips and so my starter was a slight disappointment. My main course of sea bass however, was so delicate and exquisitely cooked, I could have eaten it twice! We had lots of mussels for main courses, some with chorizo, some with white wine and all were merrily scoffed and downed with a lovely Grigio. Have tried to book here before but nobody would answer the phone, because they’re always so busy, so really pleased they’re using opentable, as this time, it was a cinch. It really comes as no surprise that Sammy the seal is prepared to hop out of the ocean, take his life in his own flippers, block the traffic and come knocking at their door. If I had flippers, not even Trump posters whishing me back towards the water would be enough to stop me! I’m hooked!!

This was our 3rd visit and we have had such a lovely experience in the past. Very disappointing this time. The food was not up to the usual high standard. It was expensive ... the dish we chose was the monkfish knowing it was expensive but it was a celebration meal so we thought we would treat ourselves, we were so disappointed, dry and tasteless. I booked the restaurant months ago as I know it’s hard to get a table. We were plonked right by the toilet. 2 people waiting on. When we were settling the bill the waiter ask if everything was ok. I felt it was pointless saying anything as it was just an automatic question they ask everyone. We just wanted to leave and thought we will not be returning.

Went here last wednesday for tapas. First time at this restaurant which we had been meaning to go for a long time. Food was lovely. Its very hard to find good vegetarian options when eating out but the tapas menu here is packed with them. I had figs and goats cheese and aubergine tempura with hummous. My husband was very happy with his lamb tagine and prawns. We shared patatas bravas and an irish cheese board. A lovely organic red wine to go with it. All dishes were excellent. There is so much on the menu that i still want to try. The restaurant is very cosy and charming. I was surprised to see it packed on a wednesday at 5.30 but it shows what a gem this place is.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for a lovely evening out.

The food in the Lighthouse is delicious, with a nice selection of wines. It's a nice little restaurant that is let down by the waiting staff switching off once the kitchen closes. They tend to forget they still have customers to tend to, and instead gather for coffee and a get together with the kitchen staff. This has happened a number of times so it's not a once off event. Staff also have a tendency to start cleaning and preparing for the following day while there are still plenty of customers left. On my recent visit, after over 20 mins attempting to get the attention of staff to order coffee (I'm not into having to raise my voice for attention), I eventually caught the eye of a waiter. He gave me a knowing nod and then went straight to the register to tote my bill. I had to go up to him to say I was looking for coffee. Minor, first world problems I know, but it stops the Lighthouse from getting top Marks. I still won't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Food was excellent although we were left waiting at the end of the meal to get anyone's attention to order our deserts and then to get our coffees.

I felt the food was over priced for the quality of food received. I had Monkfish wrapped in Parma Ham with pesto, all in all very under whelming. The fish was dry and the absence of vegetables as part of the dish was disappointing. My husband had the Cod with champ. The portion size was to small for the price of the dish. I wouldn't be inclined to return or recommend. We were very disappointed.

The Lighthouse is a lively restaurant clearly frequented by locals. Service is prompt, the food is very good. The chowder was very tasty and not heavy. My halibut special was accompanied by four different well prepared vegetables and a lovely sauce. Desert was well presented and very tasty. Overall a very good experience.

Have been there many times and experience has always been good. It is a little on the "pricey" side but hey fish is expensive. Service was excellent. I buy my fish there in their fish shop and the staff are always pleasant.
