Whimsical. Wonderful. At times, a bit wild.
Step into Lilly Rose, our basement parlor where the bizarre meets the beautiful. Here, time is inconsequential, and characters are welcome. Masters of their craft, if you can dream it, our bartenders can fulfill it. Now and then you must go backward to go forward. Just ask Zoltar.

Not just another night out. The stage is set for the unexpected.
May your night be as rare as your barstool.

It’s a cool vibe. The food and tea are great! They need to change the music. Top hits doesn’t fit the vibe. It should be loungey, or old school something.

Tea sandwiches and deserts are TINY. They were good however these are the littlest I have ever had for afternoon tea (we are lovers of afternoon tea and have been to most places offering it in LA and OC). They didn't have scones either. And nothing to replace the missing scone either. That's the BIG item along with the tea of course. For $45 and $61, the price was not worth the food and service.

The location was nice. The service was fair. The food was not good & very over priced. The bread the tiny bite size sandwiches were on was not fresh it was crisp on the edges. All of the other pastry items were straight from the freezer. The teas were good. There were 5 bite size sandwiches which would have made a whole sandwich. 2 macarons, 2 each of 1 bite size sponge cake, tiramisu, cake pops. We started with a small bowl of cream & fruit. Cost $100.00, a more reasonable price would be $50 and that is still over priced.

We went for the holiday teatime and there wasn’t anything holiday about it except the Christmas tea variety. As the tea was yum, the rest of the tea tier were sub par for what was provided. Lots of heavy and moose oriented items. All the sandwich bread was premade and dried out by the time it was at our table. The servers were nice but clearly understaffed as only one greeted us and it took 20mins to get anything.

The ambiance and vibe were on pointe and our server Kevin was amazing and provided an excellent experience. Overall the tea and environment were great but the holiday tea foods were lacking. Finger sandwiches were stale and desserts were just okay. Everything sorta tasted like it was sitting out for an hour before we got there..

Great ambiance, and live music, but the house music selection was terrible, definitely when it’s currently being advertised as a a festive spot, blink 182 and some other terrible pop def killed the Christmas vibe

Got there for the Christmas themed afternoon tea. Some key elements: Tea — hood selection of bagged tea. Finger sandwiches — a few that had been left out since morning so toast all dried up by the afternoon. Scones — non-existent — sorry “we ran out” lLittle cakes — either dry or way too sweet Service — very sweet with a nice Christmas song at the end Ambience — lovely Alice in Wonderland holiday vibe

Overall great, but in general, if anyone even needs to hear this is, that it is awkward and inappropriate as a server to ask a patron if they are full by asking "how's everything? Are you full?" ... like what if I say no? Do I get more food on the house? Am I being judged? Did I eat too little, too much? ... just ask if there is anything else you can do or just end it at how was everything otherwise it's rude to ask "you full?" (Just FYI, at the Langham Hotel you can get refills on the sandwiches as well as at Chado if you ask nicely.)

Booked a tea experience for three of my girlfriends and I. It was AMAZING! The ambiance, the service, music, tea education, finger bites, and tea infused alcoholic drinks were a BIG HIT! I will definitely book this experience again. Perfect way to catch up on girl talk over tea. The personal space/vibe, like you were sitting at home and enjoying a cuppa tea is what we loved most. We all agreed this will be a monthly trip and at $50 person, well worth it.

Hoping for a nice high tea time, my own mistake for not realizing the Holiday theme permeated every part of the experience (tea, cocktails, music, decorations, etc.). The serving staff was perfectly pleasant and attentive. The quality of food and tea, however, was quite disappointing considering the price. One small bag of tea for a whole pot is not enough. We asked for a second bag of each and still found the tea lacking in flavor and potency. The food was ok; a bit stale, a bit lacking in flavor and too uniform in consistency to be particularly good or interesting (a soft tiny pancake with soft lox? Put it on a crunchy cracker and it would have improved it ten-fold). Overall it seemed like someone had an idea for a holiday themed tea time that was poorly executed. Wouldn't have stung so much if it hadn't been $60 per person. Hopefully the non-holiday version is much better but we are unlikely to try again.

I rarely post reviews, but found this experience so disappointing I feel obliged to share. Wanted to resume an annual 10 year holiday tradition with my adult children when they came back to LA. We were a party of 4 looking for a special holiday afternoon tea. Having done yearly traditional high teas at multiple locations in Southern Cal, I thought this would be a fun twist. The fotos on line are unrepresentative of the entire experience. My 1st clue should have been when the hotel doorman did not even know they had a tea service or if it was even open! The tea was more like water made from tasteless tea bags despite the fragrant description from our server. I have never left a tea still hungry! Bread was stale. Desserts were mediocore. I actually had to stop on the way home and get food for my entire party an hour after we left. The one redeeming quality of the afternoon was our enchanting server. If it were not for him, I would have left no stars! Come on Wayfarer hotel, get your act together please. Even your public bathroom plumbing was broken on both floors.

Went for their tea time, it was cute, the teas we got were great, the pastries were ok, not a fan of almond cake and 1 of their pastries was almond, it was very strong in flavor, otherwise their sandwiches and scones were good, just very tiny, like, not even half the slice of bread but more of 1/5th of it :/. The ambiance was great though as well as their music. I would go again but just for drinks.

The servers who were present were very nice but it was clear they were understaffed, hence long wait times at various points. The tea selection was nice but the food clearly had been premade as the sandwich bread tasted stale. The staff were very accommodating with a last minute addition to our party however and the decor was nice although a little uncomfortable due to the eclectic seat and table heights. But at around $40 vs the $100 being charged at places like the Peninsula, I guess we really can’t complain too much.

First time ever having tea Decided to go with The high Tea experience . The teas were delicious , I never knew tea could have such amazing flavors , the pastries were delicious and sandwiches were very tasty , I think two tiers of mini appetizer sandwiches would be better than just 1 tier We did t need two tiers of pastries I felt the drinks were good but not for the price we paid I believe my drink was 23 and the teas 45 and we left half of it another tea was like 64 It was MaD !!!’ The service was good as far as friendliness I also didn’t know if we had to get two teas or we weren’t given that option as a trick to add more to the experience I should’ve asked for sometime to look at the menu , but they stand there just waiting on an answer :/ The menu explanation I think lacked a bit Other than that great little spot inside The Wayfayer Hotel

My wife and I enjoy a good high tea occasionally. I found the Lilly Rose on Google, and easily made a reservation on Open Table. The decor is eclectic and funky in a victorian era meets the 60’s way. The service was great and the tea and edible fair were very good. The Champagne delightful!. I think the addition of a full bar and interesting cocktails would make it a even better experience. My only complaint was the lack of valet parking, but that’s the hotel’s problem. Great small event place.

We went for the Spooky tea for 2. The bad: For $155 (with tip) the quality of the food does not match its price. If there are modifications to the menu, please let the customers know. My date was looking forward to the macarons you promised and cake cookies that are shaped like macarons were served. He was happy about the complementary champagne because we had to wait a while to be served. We did have reservations. The good: The ambiance is perfect for date night or a special occasion! Think upscale Bourgeois Pig. The sandwich and sweets are enough for 2. We didn’t over eat. We were gifted 2 tea samples when we left. For food (and dessert), find a better restaurant. For afternoon tea with the same price tag, check out the Huntington Garden. What you should know: Parking is $18 dollars and no validation. There are other parking structures walking distance (10 min) that are $10. We parked at the Parking Spot ($10 after 4 pm) but the one for Macy’s is closer. We don’t know the price.

Just didn’t love how long we needed to be there. The 2 people working the floor were great. The 3 bartenders that never came out from behind bar while taste testing was hard to watch. The never came out bus a table or drop a check. Also who ever was in charge of the music. (Going to blame that on bartenders too was insane and treacle the worst)
