Peru comes to London with LIMA, a new restaurant concept presenting Peruvian cuisine in a contemporary style.

The exciting flavours created by Head Chef, Robert Ortiz and Virgilio Martinez (Executive Chef and ranked #5 in the World 50 Best List and #1 in Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants list) have won us many happy customers. And while our diners are most important, we have had many favourable reviews from critics (“An almost unimprovable meal” – Matthew Norman, The Daily Telegraph) and numerous industry awards.

Lima London was first awarded a Michelin star in 2013 – the first and only Peruvian restaurant to achieve this.

Please note that children under 12 are welcome in the restaurant until 7 pm.

Private Dining

LIMA is available for exclusive private hire to celebrate your event in the Sotano, located in the lower ground floor of the restaurant with its own fully stocked bar.

We want your experience at LIMA to be unique.

Good afternoon.I have been at Lima 4 years ago and my experience was very good.At this time my experience was not good at all.The food was flavorless and not in a Michelin level. Also the service was not there the time i wanted them, so i spent a lot of my time to looking for a waiter. Generaly it wasn’t a good experience.Thank you.

Lovely little meal here with good friends. Used the CODE app, which was a bargain for the quality of food and delicious combination of flavours throughout all the dishes! Highly recommend the duck with Pisco macerated elderberries and the suckling pig main! Will definitely be back.

I tend to be quite an easy customer and all my reviews, so far, have been positive. After reading Lima's customer reviews I have to think that they just had a bad day and that, in general, the experiences there are much better.

I love Peruvian food and Lima was on the top of my wishlist for a while. The food was just good, not at the level of other Peruvian restaurants, while being well in the top range of prices in London. Being a bit more specific, I've tried many better/fresher ceviches in London, the octopus was quite salty (and though) and the wagyu nigiri tasted like everything but wagyu beef, overpowered by the maize, sauce and caviar.

The waiting staff were very nice but the service was super slow, waiting for 20 minutes to get the second cocktail and another 20 minutes for the dessert menu (desserts are great thought, especially the cheesecake).

The experience wasn't worth £80 per person. There are many other places where, with that budget, you can enjoy a better dinner.

I won't come back, but maybe we were just unlucky.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Scallop and tuna starters amazing; sucking pig a bit more average but beef fantastic, and crème brulee so good! As were the cocktails, and wine list very reasonable. A great night out!

this used to have great food, it's gone downhill. It was not up to expectations. The ceviche was soft and not lemony. The Causa was nothing special, the tiradito was not properly seasoned. All in all, we would never go back.

Booked Lima London to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Specifically chose Lima London with high expectations for a Michelin started restaurant. However there was no wow factor at all here. Table settings. crockery, etc are very utilitarian, nothing to indicate a high end venue. Food was largely lack lustre. Several items were very stodgy and every dish was under-seasoned but worse than that, there was no salt or pepper on the tables to rectify that. Starters were all very average, the watermelon starter being the best. Main courses were much better, the lobster and black cod being good but not amazing, and all the elements just not quite combining harmoniously. Cocktails and mock tails are fantastic. Service was very pleasant however, and my friend was presented with a surprise birthday dessert on the house, which was a really lovely touch and made up for our overall disappointment. Bill for 2 was £150 and only one of us had alcohol. In summary, service is lovely but the food is average at best and the venue is not upmarket enough for a special and pricey celebration night out. Left feeling a bit disappointed sadly.

Underwhelming overall. Average to good, at best.

We have eaten Peruvian food several times (both in London & NYC), and when choosing between Coya & Lima, we were strongly recommended Lima.

However, £280 on dinner for 4 adults and one small child (who hardly ate), with 2 cocktails & 1 glass of wine was overpriced, given the quality & taste of the food.

We were strongly urged by our waiter to get two starters per person, which we did, and by the time we had finished those we were full. The tuna tataki was okay, but not great. The tamales were only OK. The artichoke was not particularly tasty. The seabass sashimi was tasty, as was the beef tamale.
Mains arrived - we ordered the octopus, the suckling pig, the black cod & one of the specials (which was a mix of two of the dishes, the lamb & the mushroom & corn). The cod itself was delicious, but the potato was watery. The octopus was good, soft - but not great. The table was divided on the pork - half enjoyed it, half said it was the worst dish out of the four. The lamb was cooked perfectly, and the mushrooms were tasty and delicate). The food looked great, it just didn't taste as good as we were expecting.

The staff were attentive and did work hard to make us all feel comfortable and have everything we needed.

Overall, for that sort of price, the restaurant itself is underwhelming - it is more befitting somewhere far more casual and cheaper; and the food just didn't stack up to its reputation. Unfortunately we won't return and won't be recommending Lima.

This is not sophisticated dinning, as we had been to Chile and Uruguay I expected possible more
that I should as its closer to Mexico. It is probably a good example of Peruvian cooking but not my taste

i can not understand that this restaurant is rated with michelin * star. the food is correct, but if your expectations are according * michelin levels you will be quite desapointet. I can not understand that in the homepage they have a very nice menu, but it seems that it is only for groups not when you are alone. So you can just go for a main course. I don't know if maybe I made a wrong choice, but it was just correct, nothing else. the only good point was that it was quite cheap .

My first visit at the Lima was five years ago, after it had received a Michelin star. The overall experience was great and the food just made us feel happy!

My second visit last Sunday however was rather disappointing. I don’t know what had happened to this place since my first visit but besides the unchanged joyful interior everything else seemed rather average, obviously attracting a different clientele. Understandably they have lost the Michelin star.

The food is delicious, it’s a pity the tables are so close to each other and the background music is so loud that it is hard to have a peaceful conversation over dinner, I could hear next table’s conversation better than mine since they were shouting at each other.

Food was amazing, but incredibly poor service let Lima down.

As soon as we were seated, we were asked if we wanted water. We said yes. But it only took another five requests in the next 45 mins before it came. Completely unacceptable.

It was evident that the restaurant was understaffed - waiting staff were seen running around and it took at least 15 mins after we had finished our starters before our plates were taken away.

In addition, our table number was noted down wrongly so all food and drink that came out had always gone to the table next to us first before being taken back to the bar counter and back out to us.

I expected a lot more from Lima, especially given the good reviews I had read before and the Michelin star status. Regrettably I could not recommend this place to anyone else unless their service improves to the standard of their food.

Excellent food. Keeps the authentic Peruvian taste with an additional extra that makes it good and interesting.
The service was correct and friendly however they forgot one of the dishes we ordered and when we got it it was after we were done with the whole dinner.
I really liked and enjoyed the food. However as a Peruvian my self, it bothered me to read in the menu that Lomito saltado comes with OYuco which was weird since it usually comes with fries, and when I asked how does it taste they told me that there is no oyuco in that plate instead it comes with Yuca. _I was disappointed

Went to the restaurant because of a special promotion on Peruvian food during the Peruvian independence day (July 28th)

The place was described as a 'Central' (The finest restaurant in Lima, Peru) but it was a quiet little venue with very little of the luxury feeling of the other restaurant.

Waiter had no uniform, did not speak much English and was extremely shy in Spanish. Service was decidedly the least impressive part of the experience.

Although we acquired the vouchers online, the check included the price of these, and the waiter had to subtract them and manually write us the right amount. He was quite keen to put a service charge for all the meal, nonetheless.

Additionally, no one in the restaurant staff had any clue that it was the Peruvian independence day, which is a huge celebration including food and drink; and which we thought was such a wasted opportunity.

The food was very good. One of the negative comments from our party was that one of the eight courses was actually a bowl of crisps, which was not ideal (2 bowls for a party of 6). It is important to note that the eight course meal was priced at almost half the price. At GBP90 per person it would have, otherwise, been overpriced.

The food was generally good - some lovely, punchy flavours throughout the lunch tasting menu.

This place is really let down by the service. For paying the money (bearing in mind this place once had a Michelin star, I can certainly see why it doesn't anymore), I was expecting more explanation of the food from the staff, more attentive behaviour (took 15 minutes to take our drinks order - the place was not busy, water was taken from the table and not replaced, food served cold when it was definitely supposed to be hot (I assume the kitchen team slowed down the prep of our food so that they could prepare another tables' food at the same time. I'm not against this, but it shouldn't impact the diner).

Real shame that it is the service that lets the place down. I would however recommend this place for the food if nothing else.

We went to have lunch and celebrate my wife’s birthday. The food was excellent and the lunch menu is great value for money. It is also worth mentioning the attention to detail our waitress had. She was an absolute delight, very knowledgeable about the menu and very personable. We will definitely recommend and will be back.

I was expecting much more from this restaurant. Food with nice presentation but bad quality and bad flavour, few of those with very weird texture, like lobster hot cevice. Service not really friendly and I had the feeling that I was annoying the waiter from the moment I sit down. Table was dirty and one of the napkin as well. Good pisco sour.
