The exciting flavours created by Head Chef, Robert Ortiz and Virgilio Martinez (Executive Chef and ranked #5 in the World 50 Best List and #1 in Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants list) have won us many happy customers. And while our diners are most important, we have had many favourable reviews from critics (“An almost unimprovable meal” – Matthew Norman, The Daily Telegraph) and numerous industry awards.
Lima London was first awarded a Michelin star in 2013 – the first and only Peruvian restaurant to achieve this.
Please note that children under 12 are welcome in the restaurant until 7 pm.

Lima London is a truly outstanding restaurant, offerig an explosion of flavours. We went for a “Peru experience”, but rather than having a regular tasting menu our waiter advised that we can choose whatever we want from the menu, which given there were 4 of us gave us many more options. We had over 10 dishes in total for the table and *all* of them were between very good and outstanding, all with an amazing depth of flavours. This was one of our best dining experiences in many years (and we eat out, at pretty good restaurants, several times a month). Well done Lima London!
Our third time at this restaurant and the menu was different but still very enjoyable. Excellent service and cocktails too.
The food is very expensive regarding of the portion. I would not come back unless I really miss a tapas meal.
It may be that our expectations were set a little too high especially for a Monday evening. However, after a very warm and helpful welcome, service became rather patchy. Our food was very good and one course was excellent but we found the decor and ambiance of the restaurant uninspiring. The wine list had some reasonable choices and the prices were fair but our overall bill of £150 for two people seemed close to exorbitant. Our meal ended with allegedly fruit flavoured ice cream that was bland and almost entirely melted.
This wasn't a bad experience overall. It just wasn't what we had hoped for from our 'research'.
Food was excellent. Wine pairing wasn't great. Service was average.
It is a shame it was noisy because the food was excellent. Because of the noise we didn't hear the waiter /waitress speeches.
I ask for a quiet place when I booked and we were in the middle of the room. I would not recommend this restaurant for a date which is a shame for a Michelin Star Restaurant.
The dessert: Dulce de Lèche was very good but too sweet.
Gorgeous meal and welcome air conditioning on such a hot day. Only down side was a constant smell of smoking which must have come through the fire exit
I have been a year ago and it was a great food experience. This time we had to remind the waiter to bring bread, food we ordered, the wine. We were concerned and not relaxed with the service
Food was excellent but a couple of the starters dishes were tiny for the price point. Very well balanced creative dishes. Great cocktails. Good but not Michelin star service at our table, little in the way of explaining the menu or the dishes. We were only given the standard menu and not the Lima Experience menu!
Todo muy bien en gral. Buen ambiente y variedad de comida deliciosa. La atención de los camareros estupenda. Para repetir!!
Great food. Unusual flavours. Beautiful colours. Kind and helpful service. Small portions but definitely worthwhile.
Really enjoyed the food here and have been meaning to visit ever since they appeared on Masterchef. Service was great and they explained the origins of each dish, The peru experience menu is a must. The food was phenomenal, fresh and delicious.
Lima never fails my expectations. Food quality and presentation are excellent as always
Great food, loved the ambience and the staff was really friendly. Would highliy recommend to anyone who likes Peruvian cusine
Food was tasty if a bit expensive. Pisco Sour cocktails were very nice even at £10 a go. Staff were very pleasant, although a few drinks / the bread were forgotten and we had to remind them. Overall we had a nice evening and would recommend.
I have always been a big fan of Lima, and pleased to see it is going strong. It was a little quieter than usual (perhaps due to the surge of Peruvian restaurants that have appeared on the back of the original...). We were served by Marianna, who was delightful, and recommended a wonderful Argentinian white, which was the perfect accompaniment to our blend of ceviche and other Lima classics.
Very desappointing service (asked a few times the same thing, no clear explanation, for dishes, no good bye,...- we spent 225 pounds for 3...) and noisy atmosphere. Some excellent dishes, others far more basic. Excellent dessert. Well below expectation. Ratio quality / price poor. I cannot recommand it based on this experience.
What we ordered was excellent. We ordered lots of items to share, which was the perfect way to try lots of different dishes. The service was excellent, very friendly and great knowledge in assisting us with the menu.
Used to be amazing 3 years ago about seems the soul has been sucked out. Maybe they are more bothered about meeting a Michelin star check list than showcasing great food. Staff knew nothing about menu, and even forgot 2 dishes. Hardly met Michelin requirements on service not food.
As a chef at a South American restaurant in Iceland, this Peruvian restaurant is the perfect place for me. Amazing all around
Food was amazing, service was top notch. We sat downstairs and the air con was a bit too cold. That was the only negative. I’ll go back.
The taste of the ceviche and the tiradito was outstanding, the artichoke tamal a welcome innovation.
What a fantastic dining experience, great food and service, attentive staff
Talk to the waitstaff about what to order - they have great advice!
3-4 starters & 2 large dishes are enough for 2 people.
Favorites: Lamb Seco, Salmon Tiradito, Sea Bream Ceviche.
Very nice Peruvian tasting meal, excellent service and nice drinks. Highly recommended.
The standard menus were not available with no warning. A la Carte and Peruvian experience specifically. Another , in my view inferior selection was available on a different tasting menu, which I was in essence forced to accept as it was a work meeting.
I would not attend again due to the poor organisation rather than the quality of the food. At the end of the day I didn't get to try any of the food I had expected. Thoroughly disappointing.
Delicious dinner. beautifully presented dishes and very tasty.
It was easily the best restaurant I have ever been to in London. Lima has seriously impressed me. I had the Peru Experience and each one of the dishes were highly intricate and beautiful. I will not forget my experience at Lima.
Michelin starred paints a picture to some of stuffy gastronomy, this is so NOT like that!
In another review I read someone criticised this as not Michelin starred experience, as I have my 44th star in the past couple of years, it’s the food that counts but the service was great too!
The delightful Swedish waitress was lovely in her advice on what to Oder. Starter was a sea bream cervical with stunning presentation and superb flavouring. I then had a salmon dish less arty presentation but my goodness what amazing flavours and beautifully cooked. Then it was a beef dish thinly sliced and flavours that were strong but beautifully matched.
Dessert was Dulce de ledge, suffering a tiny bit from the heat but again exceptional flavours
Toilets beautifully clean service friendly and efficient and a bottle of sparkling water not at ludicrous prices. Loved the mipusic wholly appropriate for the Peruvian origins.
The furniture matches the Peruvian experience not leather and smart but comfortable.
Thanks for the great experience
I was looking forward to Lima but left underwhelmed. Food was good but not exceptional. Service was very amateur - I get better in my local pub. Our cocktails arrived halfway through the meal. Then I had to ask for the wine to be brought to the table (ordered some 30 minutes before). Waiters' knowledge of the dishes was minimal. I honestly don't understand how they manage to keep a Michelin star.. This might be a good place to go for an informal meal but don't expect anything special. There are plenty of better and cheaper restaurants in Soho/Fitzrovia.
Understated relaxed ambience. Eclectic dishes, with high quality ingredients. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend
We have been to LIMA on a number of occasions and it always lives up to our expectations. Ali was fantastic a real credit to LIMA and the team that trained him. His suggestions for food was spot on and he even persuaded us to have a bottle of Peruvian wine which was delicious. We will be returning. Thank you to all your team especially Ali
Unfortunately, there were hairs in our food and they didn't come up with anything to apologise. They only replaced the food. Otherwise, a little overpriced for the size of the portions.
I had booked this dinner at Lima for our guests who are visiting from abroad. At the time of the check-in, I explicitly asked the lady at the front of the house that I will take up the bill, and that it shouldn't, mustn't, go to my guests.
That is exactly what they did - they charged the entire bill on my guest's credit card - and only brought it after taking the payment so there was no way for me to reverse the charge without further embarrassing myself in front of my guests.
It wasn't the service that I signed up for at a Michelin Star restaurant.
I was embarrassed in front of my guests because of their forgetfulness.
Good food, but overall too pricey vs atmosphere and environment.
We loved Lima. We had the tasting menu as we love trying different things. The food met our expectations; colourful, creative, full of taste and fun! Would definitely go back to try what we felt we missed out on from the main menu.
Slightly disappointed on the desert only, which was more of a light 'taste cleaner' rather than a desert (for which it was great).
Still intrigued by the casualness for its Michelin star, service was very cosy and friendly, without being pretentious. Some long pauses between dishes which we actually enjoy, but others may want them quicker.
The temperature in the room was slightly cold and the tables felt a little bit too close.
Other than that, excellent value and highly recommended - focus is on the food and the warm, welcoming service :)
Pisco cocktails were great too, and great service at the bar!
Excellent food, nice atmosphere, modern ambience. Staff were super, but that evening restaurant was let down due to staff shortages which did not help the pace and delivery of the service.
A grand evening out! We went for our anniversary - service was excellent and food was outstanding. One of our favourite places for a treat!
Fantastic food and a fantastic Shady
It has been our 2nd visit. Again we've been quite satisfied. Food quality and service appear to be consistent. It's a relatively small selection of authentic Peruvian food. Ceviches are heavenly and the 4,000 meters potatoes almost convinced us to become vegan. Dishes are small. It's advisable to select several starters and mains for sharing. There is a small but fine selection of wines. We've liked the Peruvian once (white and red), which are difficult to find elsewhere. Servers are friendly and supportive. This time the music was a bit disturbing.
