Head chef Jon Box, brings the best local produce to your table, combined with his creativity, enthusiasm and local knowledge - it's a recipe for good food! Dorset is home to quality produce and we are fortunate to have made connections with small local suppliers. Our meat is sourced from Maiden Castle farm Dorchester, lobsters straight from Lulworth cove, our fish is caught along the Dorset coast, crab and scallops from Portland and Jon even grows his own Chilies which feature in one of his hot chutney's - delicious with salt & pepper Bridport squid or a South West cheese board !

Nice position, nice setting, but I would expect more from the food for the money you pay. I had the steak which was very nice, but little else, when I asked for a side dish of chips all I got was a portion of frozen skinny chips,I would expect more from a establishment with a good reputation, will not return

Intimate setting. Such friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was delicious and the chef made some time to come and talk about our meals. Great place and very reasonable too.

Unfortunately there was a problem with cooking facilities in the main hotel. We were asked to come to the sister restaurant.

Bravo for being undaunted and continuing service in the other restaurant!

The meal was alright, not great perhaps down to the move and served in a silly little bowl in a very cold room.

Thumbs down this time but may try again when they’re back in order.

We enjoyed a lovely evening here. It was a Thursday night in Nov so to be fair there was no real atmosphere as we were the only people in the place . The young lady who looked after us was delightful and the good was good. We enjoyed a bottle of one of our favourite Riojas by Muga which helped the evening on nicely. We will be back but maybe on a more popular evening to inject some atmosphere.

Worth the rainy and windy walk up from Lulworth Cove. Good service and great food from the selection on the menu and on the specials board.

Had a meal here during a stay near Lulworth Cove. The meal was delicious and we found it difficult to choose from the extensive menu (there is a very good specials board as well as the general menu). The surroundings are very nice and the 2 ladies that waited table on us were so so lovely and informative.

Would definitely recommend the Limestone. Lovely bar for pre-dinner drinks, very cosy.

A charming restaurant. No parking for non residents and quite a steep walk to the hotel. Wai staff were excellent and very friendly. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed our meal - fresh scallops, tender local lamb cooked really well. Will return!

We were welcomed immediately and asked if we would like a pre-dinner drink or to sit straight at our table. We opted for a pre-dinner drink in the cosy bar, and we're glad we did. A choice of Gins and a great cocktail were enjoyed.
Dinner was exemplary. Beautifully presented, amazing flavours, and very generous helpings of fish.
Service was discreet, efficient and spot on.
Seriously good food, in a great location. Lulworth is lucky to have such a great restaurant.

Initially the restaurant seemed a bit staid and stuffy, but it livened up as more (and younger) diners arrived. Food was very good and it was worth the drive (it takes a bit of finding in the dark and there is a bit of a walk from the nearest usable parking). Overall a very enjoyable experience.

“Beautiful setting, fabulous food, great service!”
Our sixth visit to the Limestone and it has become a mainstay of our holiday. Great choice of food, the menu is always changing and our meal was, as always, beautiful. The service was perfect, never rushed, always polite and the team make for a very pleasurable dining experience. I cannot rate the Limestone highly enough.

We enjoyed the food and ambience of this hotel and will book again when we are next in the area. We also had tea and cake in the garden and it was a lovely experience with exceptional apple dorset cake and very pleasant young waitress.

Lovely setting with very friendly staff, but food was disappointing, didn't match the menu and service was slow. Chef came out to meet the diners one at a time, which made a relaxing evening a bit awkward!

We had an excellent meal here last week. The food was superb, the decor and ambience were delightful. We had two starters, two mains (freshly caught plaice and lamb) one pudding and one bottle of wine for £79. The views from the dining room were amazing. Would definitely return.

A delightful restaurant in a bucolic setting. The tourism and crowds of Lulworth Cove seem so far away in this very peaceful place. The food, my wife and I both had fish, was perfectly cooked and the appetizer and desert were equally outstanding. The steep up the slope to the restaurant may be a little off-putting for some but it's worth it....the view is outstanding .

The service was well balanced...just enough attention and personality without being overbearing. We will definitely return.

My partner and I were in Lulwroth for a short break and came here for a romantic dinner and we weren't disappointed. The staff were all incredibly poilte and helpful; very knowledgeable with regards to different available beverages etc. The food was outstanding (we had the lobster and I couldn't recommend it more) and the general atmosphere was very welcoming yet private.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a special place to go with their loved ones and spend some quality time together over wonderful food, great drinks choices and a perfect, quiet location. 10/10 from us :)

The restaurant was well worth a second visit during our stay in Lulworth. Stunning view over the village from the terrace for pre dinner cocktails & crudités. Lobster bisque was first class & the Entrees & deserts excellent. Well worth a visit!

Food was slightly on the salty side. Staffs behaved like a snob, give us cold shoulder from the point we put in order until we left the restaurant they brushed past us turning their heads away, very rude and proud people. We were here to try out the place and it's food to recommend to friends before taking them here, this is definitely a place you should miss out!
