Best Italian restaurant with original napolitan pizza
We arrived early for our booking, asked if they could take us early they said no they were full, which is fair enough. We then said will you have a table for us at 6, the time of the booking and they said they could not guarantee it, so we left and ate elsewhere. What is the point of booking if the restaurant just keeps accepting walk ins?
Booked this restaurant as we had ticket s to watch Harry Potter in the west end and the restaurant was nearby. The table we were oftered was basically in a ally way and I had someones back to the side of me. It was if they had forgotten about oyr reseversation so just dumped us on the end. We decided to leave so didn't get to experience the food. Wouldn't go back again.
Nice food but service poor. Had to ask for a menu after fifteen mins of waiting then others seeved before us who were in before us. Not very friendly staff and clearly not sure what was happening. They were acceoting walk ins over bookings so saw 3 booking parties turned away. They didn't check food in kitchen so a couple who wanted steak found out after 25 mins there wasn't any. Very poor. Lucky we got there for our booking when we did as think we would have been turned away. Food was very nice but the service definitely put us off a return visit. Have come before and loved but unfortunately it has changed now.
My son's order was wrong, they then replaced it by which time my meal was going cold.
They replaced his meal with another wrong order, by this time he had to eat it as we had waited so long and had to get back for the 2nd half of our Harry Potter show.
Young girl serving was really nice.
Food wasn't particularly something to rave about.
Excellent quality food and lovely staff.. perfect for dinner before West End shows
The food was lovely and such good value for money. Will definitely return when back in London watching a show.
I can't honestly comment on the quality of the food as the venue was closed. Despite having a reservation booked online through OpenTable the building was locked and in complete darkness when we arrived a few minutes before our 5.30pm pre-theatre booking. There was no email, text, phone call, or any other communication to warn us that the venue was shut. There were no notices on the door.
Fortunately, we crossed the road and had a lovely meal at 'La Porchetta Pollo Bar'. This venue I can highly recommend. Limoncello? Not so much.
Booked this restaurant but on arrival was closed disappointing service
Not the same restaurant we visited in 2018 & 2019..new management. No welcoming ambience, no bonhomie, no decorations, food re-heated, unappetizing, service rushed and unprofessional. Unfortunately won't be repeating. They're not up to it...yet.
Not great Italian food or ambience.
Waiters not attentive and overall poor quality for a restaurant in London.
The bolognaise was very poor and the lasagne tasted reheated.
Half the menu unavailable, staff poorly turned out, half the food didn't arrive, steak smelt off, meat in veggie dishes ... we were mid theatre for this meal so didn't have time to go elsewhere else we would have walked out before ordering- every single table complained whilst there
Even though I had booked a table a month in advance was made to stand outside and wait until they they eventually found somewhere for us to sit by moving other tables and chairs around. After ordering our food it was 50 minutes before we received it.
Wouldn’t return there or recommend it to anyone.
Oh dear! This restaurant was quite simply awful: took an 1 hour 15mins to bring up food (pizza and pasta) that was undercooked! They were terribly apologetic about the wait and were clearly having kitchen nightmares but if that’s what is happening stop seating more and more customers and don’t bring food that can see wasn’t adequately cooked to the table. We were pushed for time between HP part 1 and 2 so didn’t have the option to leave otherwise we would have. Such a shame.
We had a reservation for Friday night. When we arrived there were no lights on and it looked shut. We opened the door to see if anyone was there and we heard a voice that said “We are closed, we have no chef”. This was a big shock to us as we had not been told this information!! We were then left to try and find another place to eat in the centre of London on a busy Friday night.
The restaurant was closed and no one told me! What a waste.
We arrived to find all the lights off and no sign, explanation there was no staff there and it was closed!
Two very disappointed children
Made a reservation thru open table. Arrived at the appropriate time and the restaurant was closed, no notice on the door indicating why. Still there was a Nando’s close by
I would love to give a positive review as I normally love dining at this restaurant. However when we arrived for our booking the lights were off and the restaurant closed even though it should have been open from 12pm
Amazing Italian restaurant, such a family feel to it. We have been before and will return again when in London It is a little gem
Had a nice meal here. Was OK but probably won't return. Great location though for the west end.
Was put in window seat and right by door so everyone outside passed and stared, draft everytume door opened and owner kept coming and standing by my table to look outside
Was closed and werent notified spent hurried time finding somewhere else to eat before mary poppins
What a let down unreliable
Really lovely food and excellent value. We will certainly return
I don't how to review this restaurant as, despite having booked our table for 8 through OpenTable and having had a confirmation and even a reminder, when we arrived, it turned out the restaurant knew nothing about our reservation. They explained that they hadn't had any arrangement with OpenTable "for a long time". Now I have noticed other reviewers have had similar difficulties.
This is OpenTable's sole purpose. For them to end up humiliating me, disappointing my guests and ruining our evening (by that time it was far too late to find any alternative table at that time on a Saturday night in the West End), it a failure of the first order.
I tried to contact OpenTable which was not easy. Eventually they couldn't explain how it had happened, but said it would happen again. If they don't know how it happened, I have little faith in their reassurances. I had to drag even the most measly of apologies from them.
Instead they tried to blame the restaurant, which frankly seemed a bit pathetic given that they'd confirmed the booking and sent a reminder with no confirmation to them from the restaurant.
I strongly advise anyone on this site not to rely on the reservations made, but double-check for yourself that your booking is real. In which case, you might as well just book direct with the restaurant and let them keep more of what you pay.
I certainly shan't be using OpenTable again.
If you can read this review, it shows how little OpenTable care about the content on their site otherwise they wouldn't let a review advise you not to use them. So if you CAN read this, it should be a warning that the information they provide is not reliable, is not checked and the reservations you think you're making may be pure fantasy.
We booked Limoncello due to it serving gluten free pasta and it’s proximity to the palace theatre.
We walked in after the first half of Cursed Child to find welcoming , friendly and efficient staff.
The food that followed was delicious,
Would not hesitate to eat at Limoncello again.
Got there and it was closed - even though I got a text message confirming my booking!
Shocking, when arrived at the restaurant, it was closed, looked as though it had been shut up for weeks. Opentable - think you need to review with you partner with
Booked table but when arrived restaurant was closed down
This restaurant is closed please take it off your booking system.
The restaurant was closed at the time I had booked for a meal & was not told of the closure
Turned up at the restaurant and it wad shut. How could it let us book a completely shut restaurant? Wasted journey to London, by the time we got there it was too late to book anywhere else
They took our booking but it seems permanently closed
It was shut. you should not have accepted the booking when the restaurant is shut.
I booked this restaurant and when I arrived it was closed so I would not recommend the restaurant or open table again. Very poor service
Great service. Booking system was down but the front of house went out of his way to ensure tables were met.
I had squid then sea bass, both were fabulous, generous servings.
It was pre theatre dining so very busy, diners were packed in to one side of the venue which wasn't great for trying to be socially distant, they also have al fresco seating though there is a heavy pedestrian traffic walking by, I chose indoor. Staff were great, very friendly and it's clearly a very popular restaurant. I checked other diner's food (as you do) and all looked wonderful, I'll definitely return
I’ve eaten here a number of times and it was a bit chaotic this time. It’s always been excellent in the past.
When we arrived we were shown our table which was near the door so a bit drafty. On the next table was a very rowdy group who were clearly drunk and swearing loudly. Unfortunately one of the waiting staff seemed to almost be encouraging them.
Our order was taken but after half an hour of waiting it was clear that we had been forgotten. The staff were apologetic and eventually we got our drinks and the food shortly after. We were sharing our starter and pizza and they were brought out together which wasn’t ideal.
However fortunately the food was very good.
Overall it just seemed the restaurant was struggling to manage the tables outside and inside the restaurant. A shame as it’s always been really good when I have eaten here in the past.
