Interesting range of tapas. Good wines from Estremadura especially the organic red blend of 4 grapes. It was full the evening we went and the service was friendly but a bit hit and miss. They limit your table time to between 90 mins and 2 hours when busy.
Nothing to shout about. Expected more types of tapas however they are more meat based tapas. Not much seafood varieties. Food was reasonably priced .
Very tasty well cooked food. But we had to wait a long time for it all to arrive. Definitely need to book as very small and cosy venue.
Great food with a nice relaxed atmosphere and attentive service.
I have eaten here twice now and both times have been very impressed. Service is warm and friendly but not too familiar. The wine and sherry are all good and the ham is he best I've had anywhere.
Pricing is reasonable given the very high quality of the food and so this place is suitable for a special occasion or a midweek treat.
I look forward to coming back soon.
Amazing food, service and price for the quality that you get. Definitely coming back!!
We've been to Llerena on a number of occasions now. Great food, friendly and staff and all very well run.
Food was good but compared to other tapas restaurants on this street it was more average. Also the service wasn’t too professional (e.g forgot what we ordered, not too friendly or conversational).
A great unpretentious spot near Angel. Food was delicious, wine was awesome and our waitress was a delight. The only thing that surprised me was the bill at the end - 90 pounds or so for 2 people sharing a few tapas, one dessert and a bottle of wine, a price we have paid in much fancier locations. I'd still recommend the restaurant though.
Very tasty, high quality food. Good choice of dishes which were a the perfect size for us. Friendly staff and nice ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyable meal and their crackling/scratchings were like no other. I would highly recommend this place and hope to go back again.
It was our second time to Llerenas and once again loved it. The food is great and reminds us of the best of Spanish informal dining and the atmosphere is modern and very relaxed. We stayed for ages ordering more tapas.
Lovely menu, not cluttered but lots of choice. Lots of regional dishes, very authentic. Food tasted awesome and staff were attentive and helpful. I was unsure what would be a good amount of food to order and the waiter helped me order the perfect amount. 12.5% service charge which often puts me off, but I was happy paying it! Quite a small place so I do recommend booking (as we did!) only niggle, you can feel the vibrations of the kitchen below from where we were sitting! Barely...but still, not distracting by any means
Llerena is the latest addition to the slew of tapas style Spanish restaurants on Upper Street, Islington and arguably the best. The menu showcases produce from the Spanish region of Extremadura and features plates of Spanish cured meats and cheeses as well as a selection of tapas, stews and grills, all of which are of very good quality. The drinks list is on the brief side with only a few entries in each category. For example only three sherries are listed. Nevertheless what is offered is good. Service is friendly and efficient and the ambience is warmer than the predominantly white decor would suggest with the samll size of the restaurant helping to create an intimate feeling.
Excellent service. The food is amazing.
Great footd and fantastic service. Very welcoming - highly reccomend.
First time there and it lived up to the reviews. Food was excellent - sizes of the tapas were quite large. Pleasant environment at tables. Not many people there so noise ok.
food was very good
just felt claustrophobic as tables very close and no space
Tasty and great value food - finally some tapas which isn’t minuscule! Lovely wine too. Good value for money. Service could have been more prompt, though.
Generous serving sizes, great service and good value. Hard to fault.
De 10! Restaurante acogedor, bien decorado y con un personal de trato amable y cercano. La comida exquisita, bien elaborada y con productos de calidad. Parada obligatoria para todo aquel que viva o viaje a Londres!
Stumbled upon this restaurant by chance but absolutely loved the food. The restaurant itself is quite small but it is bright and clean. The servers are very polite and attentive.
Delicious. Great food. Excellent service. Great food. Lovely place. Great food. Nice staff and decor. And did I mention great food!!
Great place. Wine is over priced.
Food was exquisite, you could taste every mouthful. Great flavours
Llerena has interesting tapas and cheeses. Lovely and friendly staff who are happy to help with recommendations
Lovely quiet restaurant with authentic tapas, the cod fritter is recommended. Thanks for great service and a good atmosphere.
Beautifully cooked of the highest quality. Melt in the mouth parrillada.
The cheese and meat selection was really great. The servers are lovely and very helpful. We had a great evening!
What an amazing place! Everything we had was fresh and amazing, the service was incredibly warm, it totally hit the spot for our tapas craving. Really recommend this place, it's very new and we were taking a chance on a new place, which totally paid off - we were pleasantly surprised. :)
Great place to meet and fine with friends in Islington. Baked goat cheese was exceptional.
Lovely local Spanish tapas bar. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Food was great and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend!
Lovely authentic food, great wine and so reasonably priced. Staff were also great, very attentive and helpful.
To be honest... it was just GREAT! If you are looking for the best spanish jamón in town, this place is a must. Good ambiance, lovely staff and incredible value for money. Can't wait to come back soon!! :)
Un trozo de Extremadura en Londres. Inmejorable la comida y el servicio el local muy acogedor y para los españoles que viven en Londres una oportunidad de sentirte como en casa.
It was the second visit I paid to this lovely and cozy restaurant and for sure not the last. This time I went for Sunday brunch and it was absolutely fabulous and highly recommended. Food in terms of quality, quantity and taste was outstanding. Once more atmosphere and service were excellent to the point that we went for brunch and ended up staying all afternoon/ evening. Thanks guys for a great Sunday!!!
As great atmosphere, delicious food and profesional service as the other two times I have been there already from they opened . Just perfect!
Fantastic stuff, authentic food, mostly coming from their family farm in Spain. One of the last independent restaurant in London. Worth regular visits!
OMG! These guys are 5 minutes away from me, and all I hate is that it took us so long to make it here. The iberico ham is out of this world! I also ordered "parrillada" and the flavours are beyond! I'm food enthusiasts and get out loads, so to find such a cozy place with amazing service.. really can’t fault anything! Amazing amazing amazing!!
Our meal at Llerena on a Saturday in April was prior to a concert at the Union Chapel. The food is authentic, full of flavour and very varied. We enjoyed our visit very much and felt very well looked after.
Really beautiful ibérico tapas bar with a great atmosphere. I must highlight the ibérico charcuterie and the beer!!! Estrella Galicia was served very cold and I was surprised they have some gluten free beer for my friend, who tought she wouldn't drink any. I also have some bravas and presa from the grill which was amazing. Friendly staff and good recommendations. Definitely we are coming back.
