It’s a shame to have to write a review that is not a good one for this place. The owner and the staff are very pleasant but the food we really didn’t like. There are much better Spanish restaurants in London and a lot cheaper too.
Amazing food and the service was also really good we had a great time and we cant wait to go back and taste the wine again!!!
llerena was such a nice restaurant. Really good food and service was superb. I'll come back for sure.
Service was friendly but they seemed desperate to takeaway the plates even when we hadn't finished. As a tapas bar it would've been nice to just relax. The food is a good standard especially stuff from the grill and the chorizo.
Excellent. Food was superb, as were the drinks recommendations to go with it. Top service as well - friendly and knowledgable. We'll be back soon.
Brilliant food and stunning staff, authentic Spanish tapas, the real deal. Highly recommended.
It is a lovely place, the atmosphere is very nice. I am vegetarian and they have delicious options like cheeses and several tapas. The deserts are delicious as well. I recommend it 100% for any occasion :)
We came and at 630 we were the only ones there so hard to judge the atmosphere.
The food was nice and service was great - as you'd hope when there are no other guests!
Its a lovely atmosphere and I can imagine it would be great for a dinner when it's busy and the lights are low.
Note- the vegan/vegetarian options are pretty basic (tomato bread, patatas bravas, padron peppers, salad)
Frankly, I found nothing out of the ordinary. Musack was loud and, to me, unpleasant: though volume was lowered when I requested this. We can do tastier Spanish food at home, with careful shopping. With all the competing restaurants on Upper Street, yours (for me) doesn't stand out.
Ok tapas but lacks atmosphere in the evening. The lighting is very bright, it feels as though you are dining in a shop. Service was also very slow. We ordered a cheese plate, 3-4 tapas and a meat dish and it took over 2 hours to get the latter. I had high hopes for a new local but don’t think I’ll return
excepcional, agradable y buena comida, como sentirse en casa con productos españoles de primera calidad.
This is a great, undiscovered gem in Islington. Incredible food and fantastic service. Everything about it is authengic, from the wine and sherry selection to the pork dishes.
The food is good, I should highlight the cheese board and the patatas bravas. Wine is amazing and staff is really helpful.
In general everything was good, the beer, the wine, dessert and dessert wine incredible. Really good and tasting tapas. Will come
Love this place! The ambience is bright and pleasant but also small enough to feel intimate. It's the kind of place that's cute and stylish enough for a date but also casual enough to feel very relaxed and to while away hours chatting with a friend while munching away at your small plates. Definitely the easy neighbourhood gem that you would want to come back to again and again when you don't want to think too hard about choosing a place and just want something you know you'll enjoy.
We have been to this restaurant twice since it recently opened. As usual, the bar is our favourite place to sit. Everything we tried was very tasty, roasted iberico ham and chickpeas stew really stood out. Their cured sheep cheese with rosemary is a must! Great service and excellent value for money. We will be back.
Amazing Spanish food!
Such a great atmosphere and service. The food was amazing, real Spanish taste and first quality products for a super competitive price. Coming back soon!
Llrena was a buzzy happening tapas bar/restaurant - well worth the visit. We'll be back! Slight disappointment with the churros, but all the other food was great!
I visited Llerena with some friends, we had a wonderful lunch with authentic Spanish food.
We ordered a tenderloinon cooked on the grill and a pork stew with a honey and mustard-based sauce, which melted in our mouths. We also had delicious oxtail croquettes tapas for £5, Wicked! All their iberian products are a truly experience not to be missed. We were given complimentary iberian ham selection because it was its Opening day!! It was amazing! Suming up each dish was delicious and generous. And the price was ridicolous cheap.
The entire staff have a great sense of humour and really add to the quality of the restaurant! The place itself is beautifully decorated, the wine list is not long but they have been choosen carefully. Very much look forward to returning.
Had a really great time here! Such fun vibes...busy and lively. The food, in particular the iberico pork products, were amazing. You have to try the morros (pig snout)! It’s so tasty. On top of the delicious food the wine and sherries were great. As were the staff. We had a particularly good waitress who really knew her stuff and recommended some of the highlights of the meal. Great stuff!!
Overall, the food was overpriced - they gave tiny portions that tasted average at best. The kitchen cut corners on the quality and amount of some key ingredients in tapas dishes. The service staff were friendly but slow. They or the kitchen seemed taxed with having a significantly less than full restaurant. A very disappointing and expensive meal. I’ve had a lot better Spanish food for a fraction of the price.
A very welcome and beautiful family business in Upper Street. Really great atmosphere very chilled and epic either sit down or stand. Great variaty and quality gergeous food and wine. Proper spanish iberian meat portions as well as the other dishes of the menu. A must if you are in London.
We enjoyed a mixed selection including selection of iberian food, croquetas, iberian grill meat, salad, cheese selection and desserts. Incredible tasty food.
The staff is lovely. I would say a superb customer service.
Also really enjoyed sampling the wine list and spirits.
Amazing restaurant! Would definitely go again!
PS: Better book in advance for the weekend!
Beautiful new space and great staff. Authentic contemporary tapas experience on Upper Street Islington.
