Spanish
Lobos is an exciting new tapas bar also focused on prime cuts of Spanish and British meat. Meaning wolvesin Spanish, Lobos offers a short, sharp list of vibrantly authentic, traditional tapas with ingredients sourced locally, evolving seasonally and therefore dishes that will change frequently depending on what is available from the market. Lobos is a real carnivore’s paradise, think perfectly roasted Iberico pork, slow cooked shoulders of lamb and lightly charred, rosy pink bone in rib-eye to share, all presented simply and cooked to perfection, allowing the pristine quality of the offering to shine through. Please note that any reservations not confirmed with the restaurant may be subject to cancellation 24 hours before booking time.

Highlights were the chorizo in red wine and the prawns. Just a bit dead in there compared to all the bustling tables now laid out in the market area of borough market.

My booking was changed from an indoor booking to an outdoor booking. Outdoor is cramped and had the feeling of being in a live stock pen. There was no social distancing. Because (I assume) of Covid, food wasn't even served on plates but in paper cups. Staff were doing their best but were rushed off their feet trying to see so many people. The food and wine was tasty enough but it was definitely not the romantic surprise birthday dinner I had planned! A real disappointment.

We only booked a table for 4 and another friend joined us and they didn't have a bigger table which was fine. We pretty much ordered the entire menu but they did not pace the speed at which food arrived and when there wasn't enough space to put the food, the waitress seemed annoyed at this and kept asking us to make space when there obviously was no more. We could see an empty table but they did not allow us to use that to put our extra food. Essentially asking us to either hurry up and eat or stack the plates. Very unhelpful and bad service.

The food is delicious, one of the staff is also very friendly.

But everything seems in a rush. Once we finished the food we got our bill in next minute without asking. Then waitress bring the machine over on next minute.

We even didn’t finish our drinking.

But we did see there are still few tables are available when we left.

Just really don’t like being push.

Food was great. Service was just okay. A different person served us each time and no one checked in on food or drink refills. We had to wave people down each time. The outdoor seating is very loud being under the trains but it was kind of fun. We didn’t mind it after a while.

Food was decent enough but, even for tapas, the portions were less than generous.

Excellent quality food. Great service. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor.

Highly recommend the octopus and the steak with foie gras

Excellent food, lovely staff
My only negative would be that with 2/3 staff covering a large outside area , it was difficult to attract their attention. Would definitely go again though!

Tasty food and wine at a decent price. Large outdoor space but beware of phone snatchers if you sit outside.

Sat outside as requested. Was under the railway bridge in borough market. A fellow diner had an attempted phone robbery whilst just trying to enjoy her food.
The food was in general fine but I have had much better tapas. The octopus was tough, the chorizo in red wine was inedible. A tiny wine list without variation on price. The cheapest bottle being like £36.

Having dined here on several occasions we were disappointed with the food and the service for the first time ever at Lobos. The portion sizes seemed to have gotten smaller especially the size of the croquetas, mini mouth sized compared to what they used to serve. The grilled octopus was cold, we were asked if we wanted something else or a replacement so we opted for the croquetas instead, the server brought out the octopus then 30 seconds later another server brought out the croquetas, not sure what was going on with the communication amongst the Team or why we had two different servers for a table of 2. The tortilla was tasty but once again a lot smaller in size compared to when we've had it previously. Even though we didn't have the octopus it still appeared on the bill, which they removed once we asked them to. I hope this was a one off as we have always enjoyed the food and service at Lobos. I must mention that we were originally booked on a table outside and the staff were most helpful and prompt in finding us a table indoors, which we really appreciated.

Great food and ambiance, only detractor is food is expensive for what you get. Would expect better than paper cups for £100+ meals as well.

We were on a table outside due to lack of inside tables so it was a bit cold and noisy (trains above). Steak and Foie Gras was delicious but pricey for the size of the portions. Cheesecake was average. Nothing wrong with the whole experience but at £60 per head and considering the table location, food quality and portion size it is unlikely that we would return with so many places to choose from in Borough Market.

It’s a little weird to be sitting under the bridge outside in canteen seating, not the best experience with a whopping £80 per head bill. Upside is the food has returned to the level when I first fell in love with that place. Caveat - that is at a significantly reduced menu

I've been to Lobos quite a few times over the years as it's probably one of my favourite restaurants in South London, but I have to say the quality of the food this time was quite disappointing (especially considering how lovely the food was in my previous visits).

Too pricey for what we got.

Food -pretty average... Sirloin was good but the only option was medium rare with no option to choose. I prefer medium. Not much taste considering it was a sirloin. Bravas was a tiny potion and nothing too special.
Chillis were great as always.
Staff - The service and staff however were great welcoming and polite. Excellent service.
Disappointed as had really high expectation and had been so excited to visit. Nice experience but overpriced for what the food is and in quite easily pleased. Sorry. Won’t be returning.

Authentic Spanish bar food. Stand out was the octopus, the chuleton and the cava. All was very good. Service delightful. Upstairs is noisy so ate downstairs which is rather cramped and warm.

Lobos is great for a grey day or at night as it has a wonderful cosy atmosphere under the railway arches. They use ingredients of high quality, you can pick reasonable priced tapas or go for something more exotic like the Otopus. Great service too.
