Local Kitchen & Beer Bar
Always a good selection of beer and the food was great. The pretzel with beer cheese is a must get!
Typical Buffalo food but not the best I have ever had. Chicken wings were not my style.
Fresh food with a local emphasis. Service was very good. Quality of food and taste was very good. We all enjoyed our meals.
We loved the local flair in the restaurant and ingredients. We enjoyed our food and will be back for sure!
Service was very good and the food was fantastic. We will definitely go back again.
Enjoyed dinner at the Local Kitchen and Beer Bar before heading over to see Mean Girls at Shea's. Loved the almond crusted chicken strips over sweet potatoes, and would definitely order again!
We had a few specialty cocktails along with the ultimate chicken and beef on weck. Drinks were good, I think the drink menu mat have changed since last time bc I rem licking many more of the selections. Still not bad.though. food was good, service was ok despite being a slow night
We have gone a couple times. The menu is just enough - different...fancified bar food if you will. So far, we have enjoyed everything we have gotten except the mac n cheese. It's really not good at all - tastes like noodles with the powder from Kraft mac n cheese. Everything else though - the complete opposite. The roast beef on weck, burgers, sandwiches, poutine fries, fried pickles, Bavarian pretzels, pierogi dish, steak, wings - all really good! Family friendly for kids also.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere and great owner; as always
Had dinner at Local this past week and everything from food to drinks to service was top notch. 👍
We had a table of 9 for a post-concert celebration. Took a chance and really scored - this place was great! Service was excellent - just the right amount of attention. Innovative cocktails were enjoyed by all, and every meal was thoroughly enjoyed as well. Loved the decor with the re-purposed barn wood. Not too busy on a Sunday evening, so the sound level allowed all 9 of us to converse without shouting. All-in-all - a delightful discovery!
Pre-Sheas dinner with my daughter who has Celiac. Lots of GF options. Love the ambiance and local WNY decor. GREAT SERVICE by Tom our waiter. Chicken Bacon avocado salad was huge and very fresh.
Great Mother's day brunch! Reasonable priced for the variety offered. Beer was a little expensive but overall a great value.
I was so impressed with Local Kitchen and Beer Bar! We were looking for a new place for our Mother’s Day brunch and this place popped up as a suggestion. I had hesitant at first because I’ve never heard of it, and it’s on Chippewa. I’ve only thought of Chippewa as a place where people bar hop, but I was completely wrong!! This restaurant is absolutely beautiful with a rustic feel to it. It completely changed my opinion of the area. The owner even came out and talked to us which I thought was extremely unique. He told us a story of one of the old vintage signs he has hanging in the restaurant and wished all the mothers at our table a happy Mother’s Day. I highly suggest this restaurant. They also do catering as well. I took a catering menu to suggest to a friend for their wedding. Great addition to Buffalo, and I wish I heard of it sooner!
Food has been great every time we’ve been there! We will definitely go back again.
Great food and service. Wonderful before Shea's.
Went there before our play at Sheas. Excellent food, drinks and service!!
The food was good, but not great. Cocktails were very good and the beer list is extensive, with a mix of craft and standards. Menu is fairly diverse and our party all found something to appeal, but none of us were wowed. Deserts (pistachio layer cake and chocolate layer cake) were the best part of the meal. Our server was very personable and did an excellent job of making sure we had what we needed without being intrusive. The place is warm and casual inside but wasn’t busy at all, rather surprising for a Friday evening, especially since other places on the block were. It’s a nice spot for drinks and snacks with friends, but not a special occasion.
Went with another couple. Place wasn't crowded so they let us take our time ordering drinks and food. Quality was very good as always
The service was friendly and efficient, the food was really good. Two in our party had the beef on weck platter with wings; both said it was very good. One had the beer and pepper soup along with the pulled pork poutine. Even though the poutine was an app, the serving size was ginormous. I had the chicken stripes which were drizzled with a unique and tasty cranberry butter sauce which I really enjoyed. The only downside was that the only available seating is bar-height tables and stools. Since we are an older group, this was not as comfortable for us. Overall, it was a delicious and fun evening in a busy restaurant with super-friendly servers, so the seating was only a minor setback for us.
It was our first time there and it was excellent, from the food to the service, will definitely be back
We ate here before a concert on Saturday. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We were in and out pretty quickly without being rushed. The only complaint was it was a little warm inside. Definitely recommend though!
We arrive at 8:30 on a Wednesday. Several tables were occupied. We were greeted and waited on in good time. The waitress was friendly & knowledgeable - she made a beer recommendation that was just great. My wife had the chicken and I the Ahi Tuna. Both were generous servings and very good. My wife ordered the house salad that include a good variety of veggies. We enjoyed our experience and would go back.
Third time here! Great service, excellent food and oh those drinks! This place has the formula down, terrific menu, waitstaff that is attentive knowledgeable and not in your face every two minutes. Food comes quickly and presentation is awesome. Cannot say enough about this place. Thank you for an enjoyable dinner before our show at Babeville.
Turkey sandwich with candied bacon is awesome! Also enjoyed the winter bourbon smash cocktail. Service very good.
We had a table of 8...
Solid decision to order wings as a table appetizer- they were very good, above average (which is very hard to do in Buffalo... everyone liked them)
We also liked the choices for beer,
Food was good, definitely would visit again.
Dinner before Sheas. Great service/food.
Tom was an EXCELLENT waiter! Lenten Fridays in Buffalo and fish fries were sold out! What we did end up ordering was good though. Nice place for pub fare in Downtown Buffalo!
Service was exceptional (nice job Savanah). She provided helpful recommendations, was friendly and obviously enjoyed her role.
Food was plentiful and prepared well. Buffalo combo (wings with beef on weck) and burger were worth going back for.
Décor and casual feel make this a great lunch choice, quiet and easy to have a conversation
Qe.arrived early and decided to sit at the bar for some cocktails. Good variety of specialty drinks, long beer list and good wine list too. The bartender was prompt and courteous. Eventually we went to our table and ordered. The menu listed on open table is not accurate to what's on the current menu. We had the beef on weck rolls, they were good. I had the Delaware park chicken sandwich and the wife had the berry BLT. Everything was good and fairly priced. We will come.back for sure.
Great place to catch dinner before a game great drink and food selection and excellent service.
The food was excellent, our waiter was great! It was a little food Smokey smelly in there but the overall experience was great!
It was a group of 8 and the service was on point. The waitress very friendly and helpful.
Went before a concert , great service , out within 1 hour . Great food, great service !
Love the food
We arrived at 5PM for our reservation and noticed that it was a lot quieter than many bars on Chippawa, far fewer drunken-looking students around. We had the Larken Flatbread as an appetizer which was very interesting and delicious. For me it could have been a bit crispier, but my wife liked it as it was. She had the Crab Cakes and I had the Cheetawoga Polka. Both were very tasty, the crab cakes wit a nice crust and sauce and the Polka with good Pierogi and shredded beef. i wouldn't call it gourmet food, more comfort food that was very nice. We would go back.
Our party of four had the quesadillas, Mac and cheese with almond chicken and the baked turkey bacon sandwich with fries. The food was good and served piping hot. We would definitely return. This restaurant is within walking distance to Sheas and the food is reasonably priced.
Great atmosphere. Food is unique and well priced. Our server Tom was knowledgeable and friendly. Owner Pete was welcoming and friendly. A great experience that we will return for.
Good food, reasonable prices, very good service.
Everything was great! The food is always fantastic, just wish there was more of a selection.
