The owners of Locanda Ottoemezzo Italian restaurant in London’s Kensington, just a few moments’ walk from the High Street, are film aficionados extraordinaire. In particular, their admiration of Federico Fellini’s masterpiece 8 ½ has inspired them to name their delightful restaurant after it and to decorate the interior with 8 1/2 – themed details. The general vibe of this charming and accomplished neighbourhood restaurant is vibrant and warm and full of colour with collectors’ details like rare LPs, books, instruments and a precious 1963 poster of the film. Yet there’s nothing gimmicky about Locanda Ottoemezzo. The perfect house risotto is always on the menu here served with a theatrical flourish from a rind of parmesan.

We had a lovely meal here before going to The Royal Albert Hall. The food was delicious and the staff were really attentive. Will definitely go back and have a not so rushed meal (with dessert next time).

This is our favorite Italian restaurant in London. Has been good since our first visit 13 years ago. Amidio and Francesco are wonderful hosts, rhe food is exquisite and the ambience is quirky Felliniesquea d somewhat romantic. Our expeirience was so good, we decided to book a second visit this trip.

Well worth a visit. As a couple dining out, our 3 courses, plus 1 bottle of wine cost approx €200. Both waiters were so helpful and charming, giving full explanations regarding the menu. The food was delicious. Its a charming restaurant, with little nooks and corners. Many posters and images on the walls relating to the director Fellini and Italian cinema. It was a real treat...pricey, but worth it.

This is a gem of a restaurant. You feel like entering a restaurant in Italy, where everyone knows you for ages and make you feel great. Service food and ambience are amazing. Will go again soon

Food and service was excellent. We came with our 2 kids and although they aren’t a “kid” spot- they were incredible with our little ones. Request the front table for more space. Adult dishes were spectacular and my kids devoured their pizza! Cannot wait to come back.

We had a fantastic meal at Locanda Ottoemezzo. The staff were very attentive, but also not continually interrupting our meal. We were there for my wife’s 40th and they made the meal really special.

Lovely, intimate restaurant. Food was terrific with innovative turns. Outstanding selection of wines by the glass. We had a lovely evening. White Truffle pasta, Wild mushroom risotto, gelato with 40 year old balsamic vinegar and tiramisu all standouts. Highly recommended for a night out with a loved one, within central London, but secreted away from the hustle and bustle.
