Lock 50, is a Worcester restaurant located in the Historic Canal District. The creative menu offers a variety of seasonal dishes sourced from, and prepared with, the freshest local ingredients whenever possible. The igloos were neat to try but it was still cold enough in them that we had to keep coats on the entire time. We played our own music as the igloos have none. Service was a little slow, friendly but not a lot of personality, and we never got one of the items we ordered. Food was not bad but also not memorable.

My wife and I visited four high end restaurants during Worcester Restaurant Week. They were all excellent. Lock50 was winner based on the quality of the food and the offerings.

Great food and a lovely, new cocktails menu. Cosy ambiance and friendly personnel. Only letdown for me was that it felt a little rushed at times. One of my friends hadn't even finished his previous meal and we were already served the next course.

Having been to this restaurant previously and enjoyed ourselves immensely, we were shocked by our experience this time around. We made a reservation and when we arrived we were told the only table was one right in front of the entry, in a spot where there should be no table! We deferred as we saw a couple leaving from another table. The host explained it would be 10-15 minutes for them to clean it. We wait. Meanwhile, other people are coming in and being told they can sit at the bar etc. Interesting....so we waited more. Fifteen minutes later we asked why the table still had not been cleaned. She indicated that they were told no more seating for 15 or so minutes??!!! We finally sat and it went down hill from there. It took 15 minutes to even get water. We quickly ordered appetizers while we had our waiter's attention in hopes it would come quicker than the water and drinks. Fifteen minutes later we received one appetizer. 20 minutes after that we received our second appetizer only after asking where it was. It was burned, the cheese had slid off the flat bread and we were not impressed. The waiter indicated the Chef was sorry and offered two free desserts. This was nice of him. When the rest of food came, one dish was as if it was someone else's leftovers (nothing like the table next to us, who had the same dish which made me order the same), another had scallops about the size of a nickle, again no other tables scallops dishes looked like this. When the steak dish arrived, we almost fainted. First, when we went to order a steak we were informed only the more expensive option was still available. Second my husband indicated he did not want a particular ingredient on his dish. OF course, it came with the ingredient on it. The manager tried to help us, but bottom line, we didn't eat Dinner. We appreciated the manager comping some of our meal, but hope this isn't the level of service we can expect going forward. The whole restaurant seem chaotic and understaffed.

The room at the back of the restaurant is wonderful and much quieter than the front dining room. Service was excellent. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was really good.

Lack of imagination in the menu, limited for vegetarians, the chef’s special lacked any creativity and was very underwhelming to say the least. First and last time there.

After being seated, we were introduced to our server, and we ordered a bread basket. after waiting 35 minutes, our bread finally came. My partner and I were treated much worse than the other people being served in the room, as the waiter was attentive to every table except ours. My partner was misgendered multiple times, and the food was subpar (once we finally got it). overall a very frustrating and bad experience.

Specifically booked for boozy brunch and lock 50 delivered. Bottomless mimosas for $25 was a huge value and helped me get my husband drunk enough to seduce him. Had some sticker shock over my $15 bloody Marys but they were good as hell. Spicy and Smokey. Game Respect game. 4 stars on food. Was a little slow to reach the table (capitalized on those bottomless mimosas here) and my eggs were very tasty but cold. Enjoyed our time thoroughly and our server was thoughtful and attentive.

We love lock 50 the only reason I gave the food A4 is because my crêpe was a little overcooked it was crispy crêpes should I be crispy. This will not stop us from going back like I said we love lock 50

The food was just fine. Not bad but not great. My husband got the pork belly small plate which they managed to make very dry. I had the lamb which was tasty but oily. A long wait for dessert brought just ok desserts. I will grant that they did not charge us for dessert due to the wait which was appreciated. What perhaps bother me the most was the plants on the wall in desperate need of water.

The atmosphere, the service, the food, all superb!
The wine list is phenomenal so skip the beer list, it was mediocre.
Everything we experienced, even on Valentine's weekend was top notch. You don't expect that on one of the busiest restaurant nights of the year, but Lock 50 does it right!
I recommend them anytime you want a unique Worcester dining experience, you will be glad you did.

We had an excellent dining experience and our server, Kat, was extremely attentive and answered all of our questions about drinks and the menu. Be aware that a lot of their small plates are not that small, which was fantastic. The arugula salad is to die for, the gnocchi were perfectly cooked, but the kofta were really the star of the show. We had a lovely rose to go with it, which complemented both the beef and the pasta nicely. Four small plates was plenty of food for two people.

I wouldn't recommend the charcuterie plate--the chef's choice only included one meat and one cheese selection and very small portions of each and was definitely not worth the money, which seemed at odds with the portions of literally everything else we received.

The cocktails were fun and interesting and definitely a welcome departure from the usual suspects on restaurant menus all over town (I recommend The Padre). We had a pecan tart for dessert, and it was amazing--just the right amount of sweetness.

I wouldn't hesitate to go again. Oh, and valet parking is complimentary!

Went with tasting 5 course meal, could tell alot of effort and passion went into each dish, followed by top notch service. Dishes where on the more adventurous side. Great experience overall.

Ambiance and decor was slightly watered down, nothing bad, nothing great.

We had a 6:45 reservation, we waited 20 minutes to sit and by 8:15 our appetizer order had not been placed. We left without eating anything. We won’t be back and they did not seem to care we were unhappy.

Valentine’s Day is always tough at a restaurant but this was brutal..... many excuses heard.... open table over booked them... Wifi went out and they lost orders..... just poorly prepared for any aspect of the evening from reservations.... we sat 45 min after reservation was due..... service was overwhelmed and meals were painfully slow..... 3 hour affair.... we were exhausted .....

Valentines Day- Great food no service- took 20min of no contact once we were seated, then asked for a waiter. About 30-40minutes waiting between courses. Table next to us left... after 3 hours there, no one ever came to that empty table to take away the half drunk cocktails and reset the table. People behind us also left. Not enough wait staff. Manager told me issue was with Open Table who overbooked them, but a Yelp review from someone who was there at the same time was told there was a WiFi issue affecting the orders. So what was the real issue ???!!

Another Issue is once the waiter finally takes your order, the runners deliver it, so if they don’t communicate with one another and your waiter never checks in with you, then you are left playing the waiting game or getting up to find someone - not a very romantic evening.

I also never got my ribeye leftovers. I sought out the Manager - who was busy hearing complaints from many tables. He apologized and gave us a gift card because our order was already rung through.

I have now had 1 good and 1 bad experience. Will use the gift card for their last chance, but will not be returning on a holiday day ever again.

A very nice place that can be intimate or not depending on your seating. Our sever Kat, was very attentive and helpful. She definitely paid attention to my steak order. My wife started with a whiskey sour, fresh mix of course and I had a from a local brewhouse. Botyh were spot on.

Apps were the scalops, sausage and squash plates, all very nice. Main courses with the half roasted chickem , Prime rib eye and lamb skewers for my daughter. The chicken was slow cook, quite moist and ample. I tend not to order steak when I go out as I am disappointed in either the quality of the cut of how it is cooked. Not this time. Cooked to perfection between rare and medium rare. The lamb skewers were quite good also. Tender and not gamey.

The only negative was they were out of the Sea Bass, a regular menu item but understandable for a Sunday.

A definite return will be in order.

Reservation was honored right away, waiter greeted us and drink order taken. Food took much longer to come out from the kitchen, mostly because our food was given to the table next to us, (they came in AFTER us)! The food was good though! I would go back another time.

We had the 7 course chef tasting menu with wine parings. Outstanding! Every dish was fantastic and the wine was excellent. Loved being in the igloos.

I rented one of the igloos for 2 people. We waited a little over 30 minutes to be seated. The staff said that the kitchen was running behind and that was causing delays in seating. We ordered a couple of things to start (the fries and pork belly). The pork belly didn't come at all, and the fries came at the same time as the rest of the food. I had let them know that the fries and pork belly were to start but maybe I wasn't clear enough. After ordering, the food took about 45 minutes to arrive. The food was very good (salmon and the half chicken). We got a smore dessert which was excellent, but again took a very long time to arrive. The igloo we had was for a larger party but we had it to ourselves - I'm not sure if you get the exclusivity without renting (i.e., you might have to share the igloo with another party but I'm not sure about that). The igloo was nice and I think it would be really cool if you had some snow. You might need to adjust the heat setting a bit to get it comfortable. Overall, the food and service were very good but it's hard for me to recommend a place that was running so slowly. We arrived on time at 7 and didn't leave until 10, and we only had the entree and dessert.

One of our favorite places in Worcester. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is incredible. We love being able to try lots of different items with the small plates - definitely helpful when there are so many things we want to try on the menu.

The dining room is very pretty, ambiance is nice. The wait staff was friendly and responsive. But we eat out allot and consider the menu on the high side $$$ and limited; which is ok but the food needs knock your socks off. It is just mediocre; looked nice but lacked flavor. Too bad because we really wanted to love it.

They are very punctual with reservations- we could not be seated until our time which is understandable. They were very accommodating at getting us seated outdoors in one of the igloos which was great as the noise inside was quite loud. Service was slower than average but the sever was courteous. Food was great. A little pricey for what you get but it was a nice enough restaurant and serving size was good. Menu is a little on the limited side but there were enough options. I would recommend you try it. Also free valet parking which is a huge plus.
