Friendly & helpful. Excellent service & food from festive menu
Love this place! Always well-cooked and presented food, delicious cauliflower cheese and red cabbage alongside our beef roast. Back of the restaurant is best, overlooking lovely garden. Atmosphere cosy, friendly and welcoming staff. Highly recommended
Love the food and the cocktails here, shame they have cut the cocktail menu massively.
Thoroughly enjoyed as usual!
This is one of our favourite places.
Food lovely as always but very shocked to see two tables of mixed households - 3 ladies who where blatantly cheer-sing getting to gather for their Christmas get together and talking about where they planned to be at Christmas - Southwold and with family ... so definitely not all from 1 household as required by law. The table to our other side on the circular table had 3 sitting one side together the 4 th on his own the other side - talking about Uni so guessing just returned so hence all sitting separately but without any thought to other dinners if the family think it’s unsafe they why put him out side close to our table which was not two metres away.
I am shocked that staff did not check and we only stayed for our mains as to be honest felt unsafe .
Everyone has to do their part and I am well aware that it is very hard for the hospitality industry but breaking the rules so blatantly is not good for business as we will not be returning .
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Swan long Melford, superb meal and excellent service, lovely decor, and can really recommend the expresso martini 🍸
Delicious reasonably priced Sunday lunch. Love coming to the Swan the staff are super friendly and welcoming we all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.
Will be back very soon!
Poached eggs cooked to perfection, lovely runny yolks .
Swan breakfast with smooth, creamy scrabbled eggs complimented by sweet vine tomatoes, crispy bacon and a good pork sausage. Not having to cook breakfast is perfect start to a day.
Enjoyed a lovely meal out on Friday evening with my husband as we wanted to support a local business after lockdown. I had the vegetarian options and my husband had sea bass. The mushroom Wellington was very tasty and my husband says the Sea Bass was spot on. The interior and layout is beautiful the service attentive and food perfect. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely food - one rib eye steak, and one sea bass en papilotte. Both perfectly cooked.
Food was outstanding. Very friendly staff who provided excellent service. As we were the only people staying in any of the 3 excellent rooms the chef came in in the morning specifically to make our excellent breakfast.
Waitress with poor attitude who was the face of our evening and a poor ambassador for her employers . We were Asked for our order within 3 minutes of being seated without being greeted or being given either a wine menu or food menu. She stood waiting by the table while we looked at both menus almost as if we were holding her up.. we asked her to come back after we had been given a reasonable amount of time to choose our food and wine as one very much depends upon the other. The rib-eye steak was tough and gristly which is almost impossible for that cut of meat! Our special birthday celebration evening was totally disappointing.
Disappointing service , food good, they should use the conservatory part of the restaurant. I felt like i was in a corridor.
Fantastic food, I think its properly the best in the area
We enjoyed our meal at the Swan, the menu was interesting and the food fine. Service
good and we enjoyed our evening. We have found loud music there in the past but, fortunately , not this time. I would recommend The Swan.
Wonderful evening at the Swan, beautiful food!
Wonderful relaxed atmosphere, warm welcome and attentive service. Tasty menu and we really appreciated the efforts for a simpler dessert. Definitely will return even if only to sit at the ‘round table with chandelier!’ Lovely.
Average. Friendly staff but not very proactive. Limited menu. Food ok but Camembert starter was lovely but only one piece of bread came which seemed rather harsh!
Good choice for lunch, good value wine. Restaurant not busy.
