Visited with Family for Sunday Lunch Took two labs and we had an excellent meal Good tasty portions. First class service
Very lovely staff and the food was delicious. I really enjoyed my Sunday roast. My husband’s had the fish and chips and said the chips were spot on, of course I made room to try one myself and agree!
Look forward to our next visit.
The food was average pub grub but we felt rushed, the table wasn’t cleared after the first course and the waitress seemed shocked when we asked her to clear the plates when she had the second course in her hands.
We had to remind about a drink order, we weren’t asked if we wanted the wine list and the noise and language was intolerable from a nearby table of young men.
Nice meal. Less choice due to Covid-19 but that was fine, we were still able to choose something for each of us. Despite the smaller menu, no sausage so that took one choice off. No tonic for the drinks which was a little surprising given how popular G&T are?
Strange times lead to strange environments. The tables are bare, no candles, no decoration, no cutlery and even the salt and pepper are in sachets, all a bit of an atmosphere killer but thats the times we are in. It does show how much the Longlands are doing to help keep the Covid-19 at bay and to ensure that the customers feel safe.
The actual food was really good, very tasty and hot, would eat there again happily. The drinks were fine (apart from no tonic).
Big car park to park in, nice outdoor area if you wanted a drink in the sun.
Overall - nice, good food, just a little expensive
Very well organised Covid precautions, friendly staff....Good food and Real ale
The service was terrible, after waiting what seemed an age for our order to be taken which we had to ask someone to do. The starters were very nice but the mains were awful. I had tasteless gammon and my husband asked for a rare steak, which again not only did it look bad but was a tough as old boots. We asked for drinks with our main meal which never arrived until we had to ask again, I wanted a coke but I was told the only soft drinks they had was cordial so I had water.
We then again had to wait for ages for our bill in the end we paid at the bar.
We have eaten at the Longlands many times in the past, and I know things are difficult at the moment. But that is no excuse for poor service and poor food, Longlands should have stayed closed if this was the case as I for one won't be eating there again.
An excellent choice of venue, the Longlands can always be relied upon for a decent meal out. Covid regulations all in place, restaurant area looks has been spruced up too. Would recommend.
Strange times because of COVID 19 restrictions. The staff were very good and the venue was fine but the food was decidedly average for the price.
Good service and good food. Pleasant environment and good measures made for the Current COVID issues.
Very nice friendly staff with very good food at reasonable prices .
Went for Sunday lunch. It was a bit quiet - maybe because it had just opened on Wednesday. Food was ok
Excellent service, good food.
The menu choices were somewhat restricted, but I guess
this is to be expected in the current environment.
Food was really really good as per usual, obviously very different due to number restrictions, hence it being so quiet. Overall goo though & staff good under circumstances.
Brillant food . Great service . Friendly staff . Nothing is to much trouble . That good I went again to night for my birthday meal and got lemon tart with candle in with manager singing to me .... Thank you to all .
5 of us ate together. The service was first class and the menu very unique. Good range of wines. Some dishes were worth the price but others not quite so. If we went again we would know what to get and what not to...in which case the next review would be even better
Wow food was amazing and they water that we has was so lovely and helpful
Excellent evening, the Pub was very busy and noisy with a wedding reception, but the restaurant staff looked after us very well.
The food was ok but nothing special. The pork belly had no crackling but a think layer of unrendered fat which was not pleasant. Overall I prefer the ambience and food of the New Inn Yealand which has the same owners.
We arrived to our booking for 3.45 pm. They hadn't received our reservation. One person said that they weren't serving so we were about to leave. Then another person said that they were serving and seated us in the restaurant. They then gave us the menu which apparently is different on a Sunday predominately Sunday Roast. So we decided to leave.
It was such a shame - my husband and I have visited the day before and it was absolutely superb, faultless and I had explained to my mother who I take out on Sunday how good it was and she asked if we could go.
What a disappointment.
Great venue, excellent quality and range of food .
Friendly staff with personal service
Very nice clean rooms, welcoming reception and staff. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.
Unfortunately I experienced a significant upset stomach following the meal at the Longlands Inn and Restaurant. This was sad as the staff had made efforts to accommodate our friend who was in a wheelchair and were very helpful. Booking was straightforward and the table was swapped to help our friend. Staff were friendly. Food however was only average.
Excellent food and service.
Lovely country pub with great food and a cosy atmosphere. All the staff were engaging and chatty and just added to the experience. We went for a first date and it has now become OUR place. Cant recommend highly enough.
Do not give recomendations all I will say is we enjoyed it
Staff were very nice made to feel welcome as soon as you walk-in. Food very nice, didn’t have to wait to long even though they were busy. Would definitely book before you go.
We were having a meal out with our son before he went home. Longlands is great as it’s just down the road from us and always provides quality dining. This was no different. The food was well presented and cooked and the staff were very attentive without being intrusive.
Service was excellent, food was delicious,we both ordered the cod loin it was served on a bed of creamy mash and a sauce of white wine leeks mussels and bacon yumyum
We had Australian exchange students visiting
I had to alter the time of my booking as Longlands had double booked so we had to eat at 8.30. We sat down and got our menus, we chose what we wanted then told we had the wrong menus and changed it for a paper menu. Then told we now only had 10-15 minutes left to Ofer as the kitchen closed at 9pm. Overall a very unsatisfactory evening out!
Really bad service and the quality of the food inconsistent
Away from bar area so a little quieter than previous visits. I booked a table on line; very easy process. It was nice that when we arrived the waiter knew who we were and greeted us so kindly. The service was fabulous. The waiter was attentive but not intrusive. He kept his eye on our table and was there in a moment should we require anything. The food was prompt but not rushed. Taste was good, variety of the menu was good. My only suggestion would be a nice fresh salad. A fresh piece of tuna perhaps.
This won’t be our last visit. Keep the menu fresh and tasty and people will keep flocking.
Have booked a table here on 2 separate occasions months apart to take advantage of the hand made pizzas advertised on the website. Have booked for between 5.30 - 6.30 when the special advertised offer of £7.50 per pizza.
On both occasions after having gotten drinks we are told that there are no pizzas on tonight!!!
Only other choice is the more expensive restaurant menu which is not what we wanted for us or the children.
Frustrating.... don’t advertise pizzas if you never have them on.
Service was very slow to order anything. Waited ages for drinks and then for food. When arrive most of food was luke warm
this is the 2nd time we have dined here and once again excellent food excellent service , a little noisy however we think there was a wedding going on so perfectly acceptable, just a very pleasant experience
VERY WELCOMING,ACCOMODATED US WITH 4 DOGS SERVICE WITH A SMILE.STAFF VERY HELPFUL. FOOD EXCELLENT,NOT CHEAP BUT THEY DIDN'T SAY IT WAS! ALL TOP QUALITY THANK YOU,WILL COME AGAIN
The atmosphere was lively and generally good, though a bit noisy. The food was very good though quite expensive. Service was good through the meal but slightly spoilt when it came to the bill. When it arrived, we noticed that a complete drinks order, some £20 worth had not been charged. Being honest, we brought it to the attention of the waitress. She appeared to treat it as if we were complaining and made us feel somewhat that it was our fault. There was no apology and no attempt to thank us for our honesty. We could easily have left £20 better off. I though a small gesture was appropriate, perhaps not charging us for some of the drinks.
Lovely restaurant, fab meals arrived hot and quickly. Staff friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend
Very disappointed with the lunch menu and only sandwiches as specials asked for the pub menu & chose from that . Scampi salad - scampi overcooked salad nondescript. Burger tasteless . Not a good experience for birthday treat . Was shocked as thought couldn't go wrong at Longlands.
Lovely location. Excellent food and service from Gary and the staff. Highly recommended.
