If you enjoy eating - meat, mainly! - in a lively environment, then give Lost in Rio a try! Bringing a Brazilian style of eating-out to Plymouth, very attentive and friendly waiting staff continuously bring around perfectly cooked skewers of beef, pork, lamb, chicken and Brazilian sausage (and more), and carve portions off for you at your table. To go with the generous portions of meat (it's an 'all-you-can-eat' for a set price affair), there are ample well-cooked side dishes. As I say, the staff are really friendly and helpful, there's an excellent drinks selection available and the whole experience is very enjoyable and a lot of fun! A great experience!

Have been wanting to try Lost In Rio for a few weeks now as have heard such good things and it did not disappoint. Buffet was fab, lots of options, meat was lovely and you didn't have to wait long at all. The owner came over and introduced himself and apologised for staff shortages but we wouldn't have even known. The staff were so attentive. Meat was cooked amazingly and will definitely be returning.

Great food eat as much or as little as you want, choose the meats you want. Great cocktails, pleasant friendly staff and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The only small thing was the volume of the live music which made conversation difficult.

A beautiful restaurant with incredible food. We went for the lunch sitting with access to the buffet and unlimited freshly grilled meats brought round on skewers for you to feast on as you choose. Even one round of pineapple roasted in cinnamon which was mind blowing. Can’t wait to visit again.

Service was incredible and very friendly & welcoming. Food was very tasty & delicious. We took our children, who also enjoyed the restaurant, although maybe a pit pricey for kids at the ages or 9 and 10 who didn’t fully take advantage of the selection of foods. Might be great to either reduce the price or introduce a more younger child friendly selection. Overall loved it and will definitely be back but just adults :-)

We went with 2 other couples for an afternoon lunch. We were unsure at first but once we got seated and had a quick run through of the 2 hour time slot we were good to go. LOTS of great food. There are salads, hot dishes, antipasti and more you can just help yourself to. The staff bring out large skewers of cooked meats and pineapple and carve it at the table, you can have as much as you like. Drinks are reasonable and the staff were excellent. You are not hassled or bothered to have more drinks but the staff are quick to respond if you do want anything more or just have a question. Overall it was a super afternoon with great food at great price and the staff were tremendous. Highly recommended.

The worst thing about the restaurant is the floor design. My husband and I were going out for a nice quiet evening and the seat single an duo diners in a position in the hallway. No privacy, romantic environment, being brushed past by every customer or staff member on the way to the toilet. Very uncomfortable. Lights are incredibly bright. No atmosphere. Floor manager also needs to consider clientele needs a little more when allocating tables. Couples should not be sat close to a table of ten. The last get groups are there to have a good time and enjoy themselves and interact a lot louder than smaller groups. It ruins the experience for those that are looking for a more intimate setting. Service is lacking. At the price that is charged per head then it is expected to have the service to match the price. - no water offered with the meal, we had to request it and then I had to stand up, find a staff member and remind them. In Brazil we would never of had to have done this. Nor would we have to search for a staff member in a more expensive restaurant. - once sat down and the wine bucket plonked in front of us we never saw a staff member again except for the gaucho serving the meats. For spending the amount we did I would expect the wine to be poured at least. - Chimichurri is overpowered with garlic. This should be bright and tangy with the garlic complimenting the parsley and the vinegar. - meat is well seasoned as it should be. For me I never take the first cut of as I find it too salty but husband loves that piece. - no one to clear a plate and no one to ask without walking around the restaurant. Overall the service and atmosphere is seriously lacking, the side dishes are average and need to be replenished more frequently, the meat is great and the service is below par. But could be incredible with a little more attention.

We were greeted by friendly staff who were incredibly helpful and polite, our waiter, Lucas was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for him! Surprised to be given 2 (4 dining) baskets of fries whilst our drinks order was taken, these weren’t eaten and went cold as we weren’t ready for them, although you can ask for more! The sides station had a lot of choice as long as you like spice, I couldn’t really have anything other than tomatoes, cucumber and lettuce! The meats came VERY quickly, too quick in fact, we wanted to enjoy what was on our plates rather than pile it up for it to go cold! Some of the meat that came out was very rare, some even were raw, therefore inedible! We wanted to have a little break to let our food go down, so we could enjoy some other cuts of meat later and whilst sitting and chatting wasn’t a problem, when we did want to have more food we were ignored until we asked and even then, two of us didn’t get the cuts we wanted! Our second drinks order was wrong and we were charged for drinks that never arrived! Live music was great but too loud at times! Overall we felt rushed to eat quickly and go despite there being plenty of empty tables in the restaurant! We all felt it was far too expensive for what you’re getting and to be honest, didn’t warrant such a high price! Unfortunately, we will not be going there again nor can we recommend this restaurant for fellow diners!
