It was a fantastic experience, every dish we had was authentic and we went with a group of Indians (north Indians) who said it tasted just like food back home! It's a shame they are closing down the restaurant on the 30th :( Would have loved to go back there! Biryani is a must!

Four of us went after a theatre outing, and had a very enjoyable meal. The presentation was first class, so that all the main items not only tasted delicious, but looked beautiful. We were all extremely impressed.

Absolutely loved it. Great spot and ambience for pre-theater dinner. Service was extremely attentive. Patiently answered all our questions as it was our first time eating Indian food. The food was superb! Definitely recommend!

Second time at this restaurant and again all our dishes were delicious. It is one of the best in London (and I am including a Michelin star in that comparison). The ambiance is casual and the service is excellent. I will certainly return.

We had the weekend lunch menu - great value for money at £20 for 3 courses and a glass of wine. The food is very tasty, especially the sides that come with the mains. Would recommend this restaurant!

The chef clearly knows about flavours and how to put them together. Gourmet Indian delight. We had the pre- theatre menu which offered a choice for £19.99 (3 courses and a glass of wine). service was as good as the food. Happy to recommend.

I've went to Lotus restaurant with my friend. We've checked all reviews on TripAdvisor and it was strongly recommended for authentic Indian food. The food was delicious and very tasteful. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. The emolyees had a hard time to smile and were not very fiendly. The atmosphere was cold and impersonal. We have felt alone in the restaurant. So I recommand if you want to eat good Indian food but don't expect to have fun.

Fantastic service, delicious food, great wine pairings. Ask for their sommelier Debbie. She is simply fantastic. This is coming from a Los Angeles food/wine "snob" too. In the words of our recent Governator, I'll be back.

I rarely leave reviews for restaurants but in this instance I feel that I ought to. A couple of friends and myself had an early dinner at Lotus on Friday. We all chose the pre-theatre menu and what a revelation it was. First of all, £23.99 for amuse-bouches, 3 courses, a glass of wine, and some truffles, offers unbeatable value for money. More importantly, the food (modern Indian cuisine - don't expect tikka masala or korma!) was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious from start to finish, even the desserts. A la carte dishes seem rather pricey but if you don't mind eating early, the pre-theatre menu provides outstanding food and value. The service also was excellent, staff efficient but not intrusive, and obliging (they kindly agreed to charge my mobile phone). Oh, and it's in the heart of theatre land. I highly recommend Lotus. I will go there again. Soon.

Nice small restaurant right next to trafulgar square, easy to get to by trian. Food was nice and customer service was well above standard, cosy place to eat with your loved ones. Mango mocktail and chicken tikka with rice was amazing and different in their own unique way. Will go back again.

Really well-briefed manager who fully understood the implications of coeliac disease and the necessity for gluten-free food. The chef went to great trouble to provide GF alternatives to dishes on the menu. A delicious meal and excellent service

We made late reservations for after the theater and were seated just before the kitchen closed but our server made sure that were taken care of. This was my first Indian experience but she made sure I knew how to properly eat what I ordered. We ordered appetizers, entree and dessert and never felt rushed. The chef even came out to make sure we were satisfied. When in Westminster the Lotus is definitely recommended.

We opted for the full menu rather than a reduced set menu. The service we received was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. I always look out for service as for me that's as important as the food. Everything was very well-oiled and a team effort. We had a Vegan member of our group and he was cater for very well with many options on dishes. The waiter knew exactly what ingredients were and were not in all the dishes which was no small task to begin with!
We were given lots of information on the dishes ordered along with very good presentation.
The food was on the spicy side, which I done mind but nothing too crazy. Both the Lamb and Venison dishes were really very tasty. I would definitely visit again.

Enjoyed our meal at the Lotus in fairly upmarket surroundings. Good value for an interesting menu. Price is bumped up a bit if you have any extras. Nice staff and the head chef came out to see if everyone was happy. Would go again.

Absolutely OVER OVER-priced. The food is OK, but there is really no reason for the amount they charge. No correlation value / money. The portions are small -- meant as a 'nouvelle cuisine' degustation? -- so you are obliged to order several dishes per person, which reflects on the bill. The drinks are also unjustifiably expensive. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all.

Fabulous! We stopped in before theatre and enjoyed our food immensely, my husband had the partridge and I had the asparagus and sugar snap pea side (unfortunately wasn't hungry). We got the popadums .. wish it hadn't been our last night in London - we would have definitely gone back!

Visited Lotus before going to the theater. We chose the set menu designed specifically for that and we were very impressed with the quality and taste of the food as well as the excellent service.
As a person who sometimes struggles with spicy food I was particularly impressed with the advice I was given in that regard.
I would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant.

My boyfriend and I dined here last night on the three course pre theatre menu. It was amazing! The range of flavours was great. The only thing we didn't like was the rose water and sandalwood pudding, it was too fragrant for us, but I'm sure that's just our personal taste.

Service could not be faulted! I arrived early, and they were only too happy to show me to my table and let me wait, while making sure they did everything they could to ensure I was comfortable.
