Chef tasting menu was exceptional!!
Excellent restaurant! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the food and service. Chef Howell knows how to treat food and makes superior dishes! Bring the best wine to have with the best food!
The MOST UNDERRATED restaurant in Phoenixville! Go, go, go and have dinner. Everything was amazing!
Our first time at Louettes; four of us in our party. Our waitress was excellent. She was helpful, lively, and fun to converse with. The ambiance of the restaurant was also a highlight. We unfortunately did not feel that most of the food hit the standard that we expected. The steak entree was very good, and so was the millet soup/stew. Portions were very small, in general. We were given fair warning that the plates would be small, but they really were too small to share. Entrees, however, were a decent size. A few of the tapas plates we had were over-salted. The chocolate mousse dessert that we thought sounded so good, honestly ended up tasting like plain greek yogurt. Red velvet dessert, on the other hand, was tasty. I unfortunately would not recommend to a friend because I think that, to have a restaurant on the same street as Majolica once was, and to have a similar BYO, small plate with seasonal, rotating dishes and local ingredients, Louette's should measure up to the other restaurant in your arena, and I dont think it does. I dont like giving reviews like this because I know that it is extremely hard work owning and operating a restaurant, but I just wanted to be honest about our experience.
Valentine's weekend. Not a noisy place at all. Food was very good with exception of "marinated vegetables" which were not worth the bite. Well paced dinner.
Food was truly remarkable. Fabulous, unique, creative combinations, impeccably done. Service, timing, and ambiance were not quite up to par, but it was valentine's weekend, so hectic and forgivable.
The food was very good and there were plenty of options for each serving.
The food was outstanding. The four course menu covered everything we were looking for in a Valentines menu. I'd like to try a full serving of everything we sampled off the menu. We will definitely be back!
Valentine's Day dinner was a beautiful collection of four course offerings which were unique and tasteful. Service was challenging and the environment could have been warmer on such a cold day. It was $100/person for dinner which seemed somewhat extravagant for the amount of food that was offered during the courses and the service which was friendly but hodge podge.
Waiter was great but we went at 5:30 so there was only one other table. Ambience is nice. Plates are small for the price but if you eat slow does fill you. So... it is healthy better eating. Nice to taste different things. Waiter tried to talk us into the taste testing course which included desert @55 each. We didn't want dessert and for 3 people it was $104 before tip so I didn't think that was bad . Could we eat more.. yes but it was nice to stop instead of stuffing yourself like we do at so many other restaurants. Some courses were excellent, some just so so. But I guess that depends upon your taste
We enjoyed our experience at Louettes. Delicious meal at quite the value. The talented chef surprised us with the tasty menu. And our sever was a delight. This restaurant is worth it.
Outstanding service and excellent dishes. Would definitely come back.
We had a very good time. The staff was excellent and the space was beautiful.
The most important stuff was the food was excellent, and thoughtful.
We had a great experience at Louettes! I called ahead to arrange delivery of flowers for my wife. Steve, the chef and owner, called me back and was very accommodating and helpful. When we arrived we were seated quickly. Our waiter (sorry Mr. Waiter, I can't remember your name) was very attentive, helpful with the menu and the service of our wine. We ordered several small plates and enjoyed every bite. Overall service, food quality and atmosphere were top notch. We will definitely return!
We have always enjoyed the exceptionally creative food pairings at Louettes and will certainly continue to go back for more. The service is exceptional, friendly, and very helpful. We do enjoy the fact that Louettes is a BYO .
Delicious and incredibly creative menu combined with outstanding service made our experience a reason to book another reservation. Just fantastic
Really really good!
So glad we went. Love that it’s a small easy menu. The attention to detail is obvious as each dish was a delight
Small plates are fun so each did one from each course. Agreed the risotto was really tasty. And we each loved our entree mine the Salmon was cooked perfectly
Hers the Duck was great and the sides very complimentary
Excellent as always. Gourmet gem in Phoenixville.
What a great night at Louettes. My husband and I and another couple decided to try this out. I read mixed reviews, but I wanted to see for myself. They are small plates, so we ordered all four courses, plus a dessert that we all shared. Every single item was fabulous! The bread is to die for - simply amazing. My salmon was probably one of the best I've ever eaten. I could go on and on about the food. Our waitress was truly a pleasure. The chef came over and greeted our table. I certainly hope they stick around, because this will be one of our favorites for sure!
We opted for the tasting dinner. Every course was absolutely delicious, original and creative. We liked the ambiance and lay out of the restaurant and our waiter, Paul, was outstanding. I like that they constantly change the menu according to what is available, which is another reason to go back soon. Highly highly recommended.
Very over rated .. the chicken noodle dish was very salty.. the short rib ravioli was too rich and pasta edges were under done..but the focaccia was delicious ... the waiter spilled a 60$
Bottle of red wine as he was pouring.... not worth the money , the drive or the lack of parking availability
If you haven't been to this quaint BYO, GO! The menu changes daily to reflect what is fresh and available. Small plates, so you can chose 3 or 4 and get plenty of food. Service and food were outstanding. We started with the carrot soup which was outstanding! Also had the cauliflower "steak", halibut, and short rib ravioli, and finished with espresso mousse. YUM. We sat in the front room which allows you to see all the activity outside on the street and sidewalk. The one small issue we had was that it was a little chilly in the front room. Could have used a portable heater. Recommend 100%.
Can’t go wrong with this place. Tasting menu was phenomenal and the service is outstanding
This meal was excellent! We did the chef’s tasting menu and everything was outstanding! The short rib ravioli was cooked perfect and delicious. The sous vide pork was also outstanding, tender and very flavorful. I found this restaurant every bit as good as (if not better than) the best rated restaurants in the Philly area. The chef came out and spoke with us which was very nice as well.
Food was exceptional. However, if you opt for the tasting menu... beware. Portions were so small and my husband and I left barely satiated. Great culinary experience but could’ve used bigger portions.
Yes, definitely “small plates”- good food though. Cute place.
This is Phoenixville's best kept secret. Despite the headache of finding parking it is well worth the trip. Steve's experience and passion for food is truly apparent in all his creations. So glad we went with the chef's tasting. I'm surprised that Louette's hasn't made Philly Mag's top restaurant list. Steve, keep the passion going.
We went here on a Friday night and while there was a wedding party on the side, our server made sure we were taken care of. He recommended doing the Chef's tasting menu and we were not disappointed! Highly recommend trying the tasting menu.
We have been to Louettes many time and have not been disappointed. His dishes are creative and the food expertly prepared. We especially enjoy sharing the small plates that also allow one to experience new foods or preparations. The service has always been good, wait staff are friendly and more than capable to explain the dishes or answer questions.
Great meal and great service! We will definitely be back.
Low lighting + the brick and wood made for a wonderful birthday dinner ambiance. The chef provided some very creative flavor combinations and the staff was extremely friendly.
Service was horrible. Food delicious
Creative, delicious small plates and excellent service surrounded in great ambiance. We always enjoy this dining experience.
Absolutely wonderful a restaurant not to be missed. Food with so many layers of flavors. Impeccable service lovely service. We opted for the Pre-fixed tasting menu and were not disappointed. You can’t get better than that when dining out. We are looking forward to our next visit to enjoy this wonderful chefs creations!!
The food is absolutely delicious, but incredibly small portions for high prices. They will tell you to order 3-4 plates per person... For this type of dining experience and price, the service needs to step it up - like a few notches. I’ve been to fine dining places plenty, and the service is usually in line with the price. Here... not quite there yet. Overall, good experience, the food is soooo good and we’ll probably be back in a couple of years when we feel like spending that kind of money on small plates again.
My fiancé and I had our first experience with Louettes. It will not be our last. We eat out frequently and I can honestly say that was the best restaurant meal I have had in the last two years. The chef was very innovative. We had the bread and broccoli for starters, then ravioli and spaghetti, and then pork belly and steak. The sauces were all fantastic and I won’t try to describe them. The portions were large (for small plates) and the price very fair. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is great. It wasn’t busy on a Friday night which is a shame because Phoenixville needs a restaurant like this, especially with Majolica closing.
Very nice space. Reservation was at 6:30pm. When we arrived only two other tables were occupied. We ordered our food 10 minutes after sitting. The meal was to be small plates spaced in three courses. After 90 minutes all that arrived was my 1st small course. The food was good but unremarkable. The next two courses did not arrive until almost 2.5 hours later. Again the foods was good but not worth the wait. At one point the entire room were were eating in was full. Not one table had food on it. Fortunately it is BYOB so we were able to serve our own drinks. The staff was apologetic but even had a hard time refilling the water. BTW....some bread would have been nice!
I don’t want to waste my time. The menu was a little sparse.
The food and service were wonderful. This was our second visit and we look forward to our next.
