On arrival, we were seated at our designated table.
We had not even settled down, with some still to be seated when we were asked if we would move to a smaller table.
While the smaller table was being set up, a waitress started making up more places at our table - I had not even agreed to move at that point!
On inspection of the smaller table, I requested a round of drinks for our troubles. To which the waitress laughed at me. I told her I was serious and she went and checked with the manager.
The manager came over to us and said he would give us a free bottle of wine. To which I replied that none of us are drinking wine and that would not be sufficient.
I was then told not to worry about moving tables.
From then on, the service left a lot to be desired. With only the manager coming over twice in the two and a half hours we were at the restaurant. If we wanted service for another drink, we had to get their attention.
The food was great, but the service really put us all off.
I would not recommend anyone goes to love.fish for this reason.
I used to go to Love Fish in Rozelle which was great, since moving to barangaroo the food quality has dropped and seems mass produced, my fish (mackerel) was dry and the chili and almond beans were basic, in my opinion the prices didn't match the quality, very overpriced for what it is!
Great simple food, good atmosphere, helpful staff, would recommend
Fantadtic, worth every cent. Good Food, Good Service and great ambiance.
It was our first time here - a group of six and impressed by food quality with great seafood and really good service. Mains didn't include salad/veg but were reasonably priced and the sides were generous. Server even advised we were ordering too much and down-sold rather than up which we appreciated!
Had a really tasty meal with a raw, a side, a fish and salad shared between two, with room for dessert to share. Really nice, simply prepared fish, tasty and fresh
We had the tasting menu which was delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive. One of the nicest meals I have had in a long time. A great setting.
This was a lovely location for a restaurant specialising in fish, and had a refined culture and quality. The view is beautiful and it’s a joy to sit at an outside table. The tuna crudo for entree was delicious and a surprising delight; a classy take on Asian fusion. The chargrilled octopus with hummus was a simple but good combination of flavours. The whole rainbow trout for mains was very satisfying, the only flaw was the slightly underdone potatoes in the salad that accompanied it. We also had monkfish fillets which were tender and came with much better cooked kipfler potatoes.
The cocktail list looks so exciting it’s a good reason to return, just to try it out.
Noise level made it impossible to have a relaxing conversation, but I’m unsure what you could do to improve acoustics. Otherwise everything else was excellent thanks.
The noise level was not conducive for dinner conversations.
Very nice fresh fish and a great selection. Meat too for those who don't eat fish.
Great spot too on the water at Barangaroo.
Ate at Love.Fish on a Friday night. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and generously portioned.
A great place to catch up with friends!
Whiting fillets were no excisting in the heavy batter This was mentioned to the manager
Jan Warren Foster
Excellent service and food, very welcoming every time we go
We tried the Feast dinner special, and every course was excellent. The tuna appetizer ( one of three that we received) was amazing. I would definitely go back for the flavour and the value.
Always a lovely day cperience.
Quality food and professional setvice.
I have been there twice and found their service excellent.
Love it, great service and food is fantastic. We go as often as we can.
my favourite fish restaurant in sydney - will always come back
Food was ok but not great. Service was good, noise over the top! Our friends from Perth said they felt they were “under water”.
Food was great:)
love.fish is approchable, friendly and perfect place for an energetic family or client meal. there is a youthful energy provided by its address is Barangaroo and a very natural atmosphere eating seafood overlooking the harbour. The space does not feel cramped or busy, even when full. The food itself needs no review its quality was prefectly reflective of the positive and comforting experience. Will eat again. Love it, love.fish
One of the best seafood experiences in years. Love.fish had a creative and diverse menu, with something for everyone. Each dish was fantastic, the service and ambiance top notch. I would highly recommend a stop here when you are in Sydney. The grilled octopus was super, as were the roasted brussels sprouts. Be sure to try the grilled scallops in he shell.
Recently dined here for lunch with my kids and the over all experience was lovely. We ordered the whiting, salmon and linguine with slaw and twice cooked chips. The meals were all delicious, but the only comment was that the pasta was extremely oily. There was a puddle of oil/butter in the bottom of the plate, but apart from that there were satisfied customers all round. Service was outstanding.
Great food and service. A wonderful place to dine.
We are impressed with excellent service & prices. Will definitely return.
Had a lovely day. Food was lovely and staff were very attentive.
Value for money!
The octopus and banoffee were 10/10
Fresh tasty food which was delivered in a timely manner. Great customer service too. Many thanks.
Very friendly staff only serves Australian products so if you want a imported spirit not available food was great and free sparkling water also a nice touch
Fresh and delicious seafood with great flavours. Even the sides are a standout!
Great food !
Delicious food, exceptional quality and seamless service.
We had the feast menu, which was ideal as it gave us a taste of lots of different dishes; all were delicious.
Food was fresh and tasty, and the location by the water was lovely as well. We enjoyed our meal here.
The staff were terrible. Rude and slow. It’s a shame as the food and location is great
Food pleasant but nothing special- lacked flavour - eg unabled to taste ginger in scallops or horseradish in beetroot
Great food but needed to get wait staff attention even though it was not busy on a week night. They did not look our way often enough to notice we were trying to get their attention.
Great dinner, fresh fish cooked to perfection
Food was to dye for, great service , perfect location.
Great wait staff, she was so lovely and made us feel so comfortable
Perfect location, amazing food for a decent price!
