This restaurant was closed when we arrived for 7pm on Friday 17th March. I went to another restaurant and was told Luciano's closed down last week! I was not happy about this, I should have been informed!

Absolutely awful food, I would not recommend this to anyone The food felt like it came out of a supermarket packet and warmed up The menu choice was limited too a choice of 4 pasta dishes, fish cake meal or chicken meal Very disappointed and we won’t be recommending this restaurant to anyone

Food was tasty, but nothing outstanding. It’s quite a limited menu, which I’m not adverse to, but do what you do, offer with excellence. Service was great, very friendly, attentive but not intrusive. 3 of us had 3 courses and wine for £125, so good value too.

First time going to lucianos and it was great, lovely food and staff were very welcoming especially Connor, great service! We had a great view of the live music which was fab. Would definitely go again.

Only order 2 things a drink and pasta, both cane back wrong. Was expecting something better than I could get at any pub who does pasta, but it overpriced pasta with basic sauces.

Definitely will not be going here again. The food is overpriced for what it is and it was a shock to see they have changed the menu to very basic food. The portion sizes are unbelievably small. The ambiance was poor as it was a Saturday night and it felt like it might as well of been a week night

My friend had a starter the tomato bruschetta which had the perfect amount of flavour to it, we had the starter with the mains, he had the pesto pasta & I had the pomodoro- even though they were simple dishes, the flavours were incredible & so reasonably priced. The service was perfectly paced & friendly, our waiter was very professional & efficient. We ordered the toffee pudding which was the perfect sized dessert to finish off our meal because we were both pretty full. We finished off with a refreshingly fresh mint tea & espresso. Compliments to the chef & to the new menu which is very affordable for the climate the UK is in right now, everyone can eat here & get a perfectly portioned meal at the most reasonable prices in Exeter to be honest. The only thing I think could have been kept the same on the new menu was the chips, the thick cut, triple cooked chips with truffle & parmesan was the best thing that is sorely missing from the new menu.

I think if Pierre visited he would be shocked. Menu limited not really high end Italian, upon arrival staff member was eating on reception he didn't know what the specials were, explained the steak as normal bit of steak with chips, for £24.99.. would not return or recommend this restaurant.

Lovely ambience and service, but the food was very oily and not much flavour. Minuscule amount of crab in my crab linguine. The sides with big lumps of bacon on were a bit indigestible. Tiramisu and the coffee were good though. Maybe just a bit unlucky with my order, but it was surprisingly poor for a place where I've previously had good meals

The waitress was incredibly grumpy, the starter was not seasoned and the fat layer on the potted duck had not set. The other starter (salmon) was gloopy and unpleasant. The steak and chips were fine, but nothing green to go with it and not amazing for the price. The cod and lentils were so salty they were inedible. Said nothing about the ruccola and balsamic glaze scattered across on the menu. Also either not cod or the tiniest baby cod ever known to man - have never been served a side of cod before! The wine waiter was the star of the eve. He did a good job of a poor list, was professional and lovely. Too good for the place. We noticed that all other diners struggled to finish their food, especially those who ordered pasta.

Unfortunately a terrible experience. Firstly, the lady who showed us to the table telling us the sea bass was off the menu but everything else was present. Another waitress then took over our table and when we ordered we had to re-choose because several other items which we wanted were in fact off the menu but we were not told. I think there was also specials which we didn’t know about until after ordering. Our starters arrived quickly, although one was missing. (Table of 4). Our drinks were also missing and we had to get someone’s attention to ask for both. The barman was leaning against the bar (maybe on his phone or reading something?) and talking to other customers rather than making any drinks. The place was not busy, so shouldn’t have taken 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. Starters were nice but small. Our plates were cleared and we waited 45 mins+ for our mains to arrive. No apology until afterwards when the waitress said ‘sorry for the small wait’. A small wait is 15-20 mins. All the while we were freezing cold because the front door doesn’t close properly and we were in a draft. Other customers were sat in their coats around us. One of our party had risotto, which was overpowering with garlic and otherwise bland. We asked for a dessert menu, then watched our waitress have her own food for 20-30 minutes before coming back to take an order. If someone takes a break, surely the other team members should cover them? The rest of the team walked around with sour faces and were obviously understaffed because they constantly ran around looking stressed. This was topped off when the bill arrived. A 12.5% tip added. This is extreme even with good service which this was far from good. Other points are that the menu is hard to read, expensive and it seems like the black truffle was on offer because everything involves the ingredient it seems. The carbonara included the truffle which I didn’t think added any flavour. Dissapointing to not have a cider on offer too.

Really lovely food with quite a small menu. Lots of items with black truffle which is good if you like it. Prices quite high but food is very good. Felt I was overcharged for a rocket and parmesan salad,I asked for it without parmesan and was charged the same price. Dessert was excellent but was nearly £8.00. With 12.5% service it's not a cheap experience but is better than most places in Exeter.

We enjoyed the starters and the main course and with a reasonable choice (although I think a burger at an Italian is a bit of an insult to Italian food!) could have had a number of dishes. The let down is pudding - boring tiramisu, a cake with nuts, no good to the many who are allergic or don't like nuts or ice cream (and not much choice with that either, vanilla or vanilla). This is perhaps the worst selection I have seen for many years and such a let down for what was up until that point a nice meal.
