Second visit with some girlfriends after visiting before with my husband. Food etc was really great and I have no complaints at all.
Our experience at Luciano's was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were all very accommodating and the food was delicious.
Good value, very good quality Italian food. Very nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere and well designed.
This restaurant is clearly in its early days. Some dishes eat very well such as the gnocchi with truffle but others are very poor, such as their take on gorgonzola with figs which is just a blob of gorgonzola and fig chutney. I hope and expect that things will improve as there is potential.
Second time here in a week, warm welcome and Gareth his usual charming self. Staff polite and helpful it’s the perfect spot for a week day snack or weekend blow out. 100% coming back
the food was amazing and the staff were very attentive
Wonderful atmosphere, attentive but unobtrusive staff. Great food as well!
Lovely decor. Staff very welcoming, attentive and friendly .
Food was delicious . Crab bruschetta fresh and tasty. Hubby had lobster tagliatelle which he said he enjoyed. I had Gorgonzola gnocchi, it was tasty but extremely rich, could of done with something just to cut through it a bit, maybe I should have ordered a salad with it.
We will be back .
We had a nice evening. The food was good but nothing special. Didn’t make me want to return. Shame.
Placed on a small table (for 8apparently), right up against a large party of approx 20. It felt like we were sitting in the middle of their party. No indication of veg or vegan options on the menu and indeed only one dish was vegan when I asked, and this was ‘lentils and mushrooms’. At this point we left without ordering- I don’t come out to a restaurant in a group of 8 to be seated at a poor table with the vegan In our party having to pay £14.50 for a plate of lentils. Extremely poor. Was a regular at Carluccios which this restaurant has replaced- this place is not a patch on Carluccios
The food was good but not too hot. Overall very pleasant
Very disappointed with the food not freshly cooked Burt bread not what I expected being the son of Marco pier white
First visit. Were regulars at Carluccios. Used good restaurants many years. so probably very fussy.
The decor and the staff were great.
The menu was very Italian as i would expect but would have liked more uk choice.
Linguini was not up to what I expected, My wife's ravioli she said was too much sauce.
The pinot grigio very nice, the cappuccino excellent. The tiramisu bit too heavy.
We will be back for sure and try other things.
Thank you and best wishes.
Nice food, good service, except that we were still drinking aperitives and eating starters when main courses were served. Nice decor.
All round good experience
Lovely evening for our first time at Luciano's. Great food and service. Very busy and rather noisy along with the background music. Conversation therefore slightly difficult at times. Liked the music choices by the way! Overall good time so will definitely be back but maybe mid week.
Starter and main were very good but found the Carbonara just tasted of egg and nothing else.
Fantastic service, very efficient and prompt.
Good cocktails and water for the table.
Overall really good but i wouldn’t have the carbonara again. Will try again with a different main meal.
Was supposed to be a special birthday treat for the wife, unfortunately they had no beer to start with it ran out the day before!! Wait time for starter was 40mins and the acoustics were terrible. The dining place was dark, people were having to use their phones to see the menu. We were placed near the door so every time the main door was opened we got a draft of air. We couldn’t move as the place was full unfortunately. We had expected a better experience to be honest so we will probably not be returning.
A very noisy environment and a staff that are still learning, multiple breakages during our short visit. Food was fine, but then, ‘spag bol’ isn’t too challenging. Really looked forward to the experience, but won’t be back very soon.
Complimentary drink was not offered to anyone on our table and when given the bill, we were charged. Starter of crab bruschetta was poor, being unable to cut the bread. Other starters were small and unpleasant. We were not checked on to confirm that we were happy with what we'd been served or this would have been raised. I wouldn't return or recommend this restaurant to friends.
Fantastic food - although slightly disappointed that no allergen menu was available to check for gluten free. Also no gluten free pasta - but appreciate there are national challenges at the moment. Very busy and a good buzz! Have been twice now and would have no hesitation going again!
I booked a table 2 weeks ago for lunch today. I received a text from open table yesterday to confirm my booking, which I did.
Arrived at Luciano’s to find they had no record of my booking. We were made to feel slightly awkward but a table for 2 was found.
My friend and I both decided to have roasted sea bass. My friend’s was over salted and my sea bass had no seasoning whatsoever. Mine had several bones and completely tasteless. We pointed this out to the waiter who said he would mention it to the kitchen, however we didn’t hear anything else. I mentioned when paying the bill and it was decided to take my sea bass off the bill.
I felt awkward with no apology. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and will continue to frequent Cote and The Cosy Club which are consistently good.
Great service, super friendly staff and the food was very tasty.
WE have visited three times , each time we have had good food excellent service , so nice to have a good Italian Restaurant to visit.
I visited this restaurant with an open mind but difficult not to compare it with what was there before!
Everything was ok - service, food and ambiance but we felt something was missing. Maybe it was the attention to detail. It seemed quite expensive too especially when 12.5% is automatically added on. I’m not a fan of this. I would
Go back but not in a hurry.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my wife. Super service. Drink included with main course is a great idea.
Not really italian food, poor quality and very expensive
A message to the owner-Hello, I just wanted to feed back to you what awful service we received from one of the managers “Gareth” in Lucianos Exeter this evening. To say that this is a brand new restaurant and you have that poor excuse of a man managing your establishment is concerning to say the least. My friend ordered the lobster pasta which she had eaten at the restaurant the previous week and loved! However this evening it came out and was chewy which we know isn’t right. The manager was instantly defensive and rude, implying that we were probably used to having frozen lobster at another restaurant chain-the ivy. This comment made us feel very uncomfortable as we are paying customers who came full of excitement to try some great food only to be looked down on by a senior member of staff. He then continued to make my friend feel even worse, telling her if she had the lobster last week she should probably consider choosing something else-what kind of response is that?
My friend ended up not eating anything as she had already been made to feel that she was being an inconvenience. The lobster was rightly removed from the bill but we paid a £7 service charge which i do not think was fair at all. The waiting staff were friendly and did their best to resolve the situation but myself and my friends felt the experience had ruined the whole evening. I hope that this man will lose his position as manager for the sake of your restaurant as looking at the reviews you have received so far we are not the only ones who think he’s rude.
A disappointing experience with 75% of dishes overcooked, a lack of oversight and a poor attitude which, given the experience of the owner was hugely unexpected.
Initial impressions was the restaurant appeared overborne by inexperienced staff bereft of any form of leadership or management in the front of house. This was only trumped by the managers sheer ambivalence when we asked to discuss our evening with him.
We were charged for food we didn’t receive. When asked how the main courses were we informed them that the pasta was over cooked (how an restaurant specialising in Italian cuisine is prepared to send annihilated pasta across the pass is behind me). They ran out of ice cream (but knew they had supply issues but didn’t advise of this until ordering).
When asked why there was a discretionary service charge we were informed it was a tip for good service. Given all of the above it was with sheer hypocrisy that this was included on the bill.
Frankly the poorest restaurant I have been to in a number of years and the blame must lie with the person ironically holding the title of manager.
Very good but the servers need to be a little less enthusiastic as whilst they were very good it did feel as though they wanted the table back almost as soon as we sat down! If you can get the balance right you are onto a winner.
The food was very good but the service was too quick - laying the mains cutlery whilst still eating the starters and having had drinks, starters and onto mains in 45 minutes! The bill was then delivered (without asking for it) just as we had finished dessert but still drinking. The tables were badly positioned with our chairs constantly being knocked by waiters going past.
The service was perfect. Very quick and attentive staff.
Excellent food and the ambience was lovely, very difficult to fault.
Felt rushed throughout. Trying to get as many tablesthrough as they can. Expensive too.
Great food, good service and a really nice atmosphere.
Thank you so much for your positivity, we look forward to welcoming you back
Reasonably priced with a lovely lunchtime ambience. Was pretty quick so we could enjoy a nice meal during our hour lunch break. Would definintely be back.
The experience was good but not 5 star . We think and hope this is due to this being a new venture but in the old Carluccios premises.
There was only one chef on at lunchtime and when it got busy one of the waiters went on to help. The hand dryers in the ladies wasn’t functioning and no hand towels. The mirror behind our table was cracked across. These issues were disappointing for such an establishment with the Marco Pierre White name behind it .
Superb food, mouth watering lobster taglionini. Outstanding service. Cannot wait to return. Wishing Luciano and his wonderful team the best of luck with their new venture they deserve to be successful. Thank you for a memorable evening.
No Frank thank you for coming to see us, we look forward to welcoming you back to us
Great customer service- lovely team
Lovely atmosphere and delicious food with attentive service. Love that there is such a good selection of gnocchi!
In fact would suggest a tasting selection of the gnocchi dishes as an innovation!
Noise level could be alleviated with some acoustic absorbers - this was also an issue when it was Carluccios.
Glad you enjoyed the Gnocchi, I personally love it with Truffle. I am working on more soft furnishings to absorb so more noise. All our ceiling tiles are acoustic tiles and I am looking for alternatives. At least everyone is enjoying themselves with us which is the bonus. We look forward to welcoming you back to us soon.
First visit and what a lovely experience from the minute we walked in the door.
All the staff friendly and attentive without being imposing.
Excellent menu choices and the house wine is as good as any I've drunk in Italy.
Food was lovely and good value for money.
We will definitely visit again
Thank you Heidi, we look forward to welcoming you back to us
