A lovely welcome and great service throughout the evening. Good veggie options, although I don‘t think the portion sizes represent value for money. I found the wine list also overpriced. Having said that, it’s Mayfair!
Really great food, one of the best Indians I have ever had, service was also friendly and accommodation.
Friendly staff and excellent food.
The food was delicious, they welcomed us and remembered our special occasion daughters birthday & our anniversary and even brought out a dessert and candle for us. The starters especially the gulati kabab & barrah chop were exceptional, lamb biryani was delicious and so was the paneer kofta.
Some of the best, savory Indian food in London, and that says a lot. Excellent lamb shank, the Dal was impressive, and the roasted mixer veg starter was surprisingly inventive and flavorful. Try the Bharbani/chai Negroni!
Best Indian food in United Kingdom. The lamb, The Chicken, The Paneer, The Lachha Parantha were outstanding. No other restaurant can meet it beat them.
Keep it up, will be back soon.
Sadly it took 2 hours from the time we sat down to get main courses. Arrived 658 and mains went down 858pm. Staff are lovely but the engine room seemed to be struggling out back. Told it was due to new menu and having just 2 chefs. I would go back however as the staff were lovely once we pointed out our hunger. Good customer service recovery too from the manager. Food is top notch
Good quality food at reasonable prices given it’s location in Mayfair. Would recommend to friends and family and will visit again if I’m in the area.
Friendly and attentive service. Delicious specialities, especially the lamb.
Overall very good, lovely flavours and great service. Would like to have had one or two more options on the menu, especially vegetable side dishes.
Warm and friendly service, delicious food & cocktails, cosy and settings with mix of chairs and sofas.
Probably the most delicious lamb curry I have ever had! Fell off the bone. Cannot wait to go back!
Interesting to find a Indian rest in Mayfair patronised by Indian nationals always a good sign
All service aspects were on the mark and Manager was very pro active
The food was very tasty and overly westernized which makes a nice change
All in all a good experience
It was wonderful!!
Second test of Lucknow 49. The food was again good, not exceedingly spicy. The only disappointment were desserts, which we found uninspiring. Service was friendly and attentive. On my first try of Lucknow, it was incredibly quiet. This time there was a large table next to us so the restaurant was significantly more noisy. It is a small room so it can easily get busy in there
The service here is fantastic. The guys really care that you are enjoying your meal and nothing is too much trouble.
The food was delicious and generous.
Next time I hope they’ll have some 00 beer in for us non drinkers. In the meantime the salty lassi they made was delicious.
Everything was lovely, from the wine to the appetizers and curries. Very cute decor as well.
There is no ways you can ever complain about the food and the service here. It’s absolutely outstanding !!!!!
However The place is a bit small so you might feel a little bit too cosy with others and the tables are a little bit too small to fit all that food and drinks and water.
Warm service and wonderful food. Couldn’t get enough of the okra bhindi, we’ll definitely be back!
Service was knowledgeable and friendly and the food immaculate. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to.
Went all good . flavour was amazing with and great hospitality and service very happy
Absolutely excellent and authentic Lucknavi food. Quite different to the typical Punjabi food found in London, and I was very pleased with the service and overall experience. Good value for Mayfair too!
well made food and cocktails, friendly staff and comfortable setting
Delicious food, and setting is very relaxed with some nice decorative touches. Despite the pre-theatre timing of our dinner we did not feel rushed at all.
Pro: decent food, decent vib
Con: a little bit pricy
Mains were not authentic , starters were very good.
Lovely atmosphere, great service and sensational food
I visited Lucknow 49 with my partner. We booked two weeks in advance and arrived there perfectly on time. As we entered and introduced ourselves to a waiter, he welcomed us and pointed at a comfy and discreet table. However, as we were about to take our seats, the manager redirected us to another smaller table (for no clear reason, since the restaurant was half empty), next to another couple, which we had to clean-up ourselves from previous customers' leftovers.
We ordered one cocktail, one starter and one main each. Cocktails and starters were fine, but had to wait for ~ 45 mins before our main was served, while other customers who arrived later than us were served promptly and before us. We wanted to order a dessert, but after having spent almost 2 hrs for a two-course meal we decided that time to pay and leave had come.
Ironically, after having spent more time at Lucknow 49 that in any other London restaurant, I received a notification from OpenTable saying that we didn't show up, and had (to spend more of my precious time) to explain that we did attend our reservation on time instead.
Great atomosphere but the food was a little mixed and the service was very poor. They were not attentive at all throughout the evening, and my pet hate, starters arrived before the drinks we ordered.
It is a real shame as Lucknow has the potential to be a great restaurant if they improve the consistency of food and refine the service
Good food that didn’t try too hard to be Trendy or fusion. Chaat lacked crunch but the raan masala was good. Nice decor and pleasant staff.
Simply the best! We loved our experience at Lucknow 49!
Can't wait to bring our friends
Great service- delicious food
Gilawati kebabs were really delicious. As close to the authentic Tunday kebabs one could get in London. Suggestion to the management: do introduce rumali roti in the Breads menu which goes really well with kebabs. The biryani could be spiced up further. Great selection of cocktails. All in all, great place for an authentic awadhi cuisine.
Staff were very attentive
The food was lovely but it’s not your typical Indian so be open to milder flavours, presented lovely.
The restaurant itself is beautiful.
Overall a pleasant experience and always nice to try a bit more upmarket as I’m an east end girl 😋
Very nice indeed!
Try it👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
It was an Ok restaurant. The chicken starter was amazing. The lamb kebab was not good. It was like a big lumpy sausage. Biryani was ok. Some pieces of lamb were really really overcooked and it was unappetizing. The chicken was amazing though and the vegetarian stuff was not bad either. Service was good and so was the decor. I didn’t feel like it was worth it for that price.
Really good food. Unfortunately the service was really poor. They kept on pushing on buying more drinks and were interrupting us constantly during conversations.
Great food and drinks and excellent service. Fun decor.
Extremely limited menu options w.r.t to both food and drinks
