Dinner: Tuesday - Thursday 5:00PM-9:00PM
Really enjoyed the visit at this time approaching Christmas . It was much better than the experience of last year .
A good location visited many times when I worked in and out of the Lloyds Market for a long period of time .
we did not have much time and the friendly staff tried to accommodate us . Service was excellent so was the food
Densely packed, but great service and good food
The service was good, especially since they were so busy. The waitress was extremely considerate about the special dietary needs of my friend and checked and rechecked that my friend had something suitable without making us feel we were a bother. The restaurant was loud with the Christmas lunch crowd and there are rather a lot of stairs into the restaurant and to the toilets which accounts for the lower stars, but two of the party immediately wanted to book for other occasions.
Excellent filet steak. Attentive staff. Very noisy - but it was full of people having work Christmas lunches!
Very enjoyable early evening meal. Food good quality and efficient service.
Menu could have had a few more choices, but authentic French recipes.
Good value and quality establishment
Average food, average service and overpriced for portion sizes. Sold out of specials before evening service but hadn't removed from board.
Good food, great service, lovely location and they managed to meet our request for a table by the window
Food was excellent and very reasonable, the service wasn't bad, my only gripe was their booking system. They, or someone but definitely not me, screwed up the booking and registered us for 13:00 instead of 14:30. My confirmation said 14:30 and the person who called in the morning to confirm the booking said they looked forward to seeing us at 14:30. I didn't appreciate the sarcasm from the staff when we arrived at our correct time that I had made a mistake with the booking, nor the email from them some time after 13:00 reprimanding us - albeit politely - that we hadn't turned up or cancelled!
(Maybe) interestingly, I have ticked the Open Table box for "Neighbourhood Gem". Anybody who works in and around the Lloyd's environment, and who has dined at Luc's will know exactly what I mean. Mo, the Maitre D', and Timi (possibly also the Maitresse D') are marvellous hosts. Regulars are welcomed back; newcomers are given the same degree of welcome and courtesy. It ticks the "Authentic" box from the barman to the chef. I know everyone isn't French, but it's a French restaurant alright. The menu is a comfort for regulars, and a delight for new diners; it changes....just in time, to keep us on our toes. (The recent, seasonal addition of pigeon in the starter menu was very welcome.) Specials cause regulars to take an occasional diversion away from the comprehensive menu. The house wine, as it should be in a proper French Restaurant is excellent and excellent value. Businessmen and women can have a serious or cordial lunch. Non-business people will not feel "out of place", quite the opposite. The occasional "fun lunch" has a perfect venue. It's usually very busy; book a day or two ahead, if you can.
A classic London Market lunch spot in the eaves of Leadenhall Market- buzzy & fun.
I really love this restaurant - it’s perfect for business lunches.
It’s not cheap but the food is consistently very good indeed.
My only criticism is that the tables are far too small. Lunch on a table for 2 is a real squeeze and you need to keep moving things about to fit them on. I am getting a bit tired of that to be honest as I’m usually there with just one other person - it’s not an issue if there are 4 of you on a larger table for instance.
Just my kind of place. Great atmosphere, food and wines. Nice old French cafe feel to the place. Service not fantastic but they were very busy.
Luc‘s is a Great Place for conversation, we went as a group of 7 for a work reunion. Staff were very pleasant.
Always a fine dining experience here - a great City based restaurant with plenty of atmosphere and good food
Really like Lucs Brasserie. Good food and good serve ice.
Great food, great location and awesome service. One couldn't really ask for more!
Set menu is a good selection, great choice of wines, an enjoyable meal
This is a tremendous authentic French cafe which is superb for business lunches but also excellent for more intimate evening dinners a Deux.
I've used Luc's for several business lunches over the last year and the food never fails to impress. The Steak in particular is consistently good. However, it quickly becomes a rather pricy affair, and you'll be looking at 3 figures for a 2 course lunch without much effort which feels pretty expensive to me.
It is very good food though.
Fine for a business lunch in a great venue in the heart of the insurance district. No real surprises, but no disappointment either.
Perfect for business lunch in EC3. Good service, good menu, always busy, and not too pricey
Attentive service, classic bistro memo and great ambience. Recommended.
First time at this restaurant, meeting a great -nephew who is working in the City. He did not know the venue but was very impressed and will introduce his friends to it. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was fresh and reasonably priced. A good night out. Also, being first floor, it was cool on a very hot and busy night.
The restaurant is upstairs through a small entrance. When we got there it was pretty empty and remained that way all evening. The waitress was pretty accommodating with our wine request and gave samples to try. However one of the choices she said we couldn’t have because she couldn’t open it!
The food was average at best, the chicken liver pate was over garlicky and had a grainy lumpy texture. The tomato and goats cheese salad had very little cheese. Main course of cod with chickpea cassoulet was mediocre the very small piece of cod was over cooked and they had run out of new potatoes from lunchtime so chips were the substitute. The fish cake was better.
By 9pm our waitress had changed into her day clothes to serve us as she was going home! A guy at the bar continued to serve us but sat reading a paper throughout. We felt like we had over stayed our welcome.
The lunchtime menu seems to be bigger than the dinner menu, so maybe this is where their focus lies.
Great service, personable, courteous, fun and wonderfully friendly. Good vibe.
Superb table again looking into Leadenhall Market. Watch whose walking by and ponder on why certain individuals are dining with others. Good people watching location. Great food and service and many thanks to Luc's for yet another wonderful lunch
Great lunch venue with good solid French food. Wine assistance from waiter was exceptional and for our second bottle saw us paying less for a much better wine than we had chosen ourselves first time round. Recommend!
Had a fabulous lunch this week! Great food and great service!
Luc's is an authentic French brasserie serving a typical prix fixe lunch for excellent value. The "onglet with frites" is fantastic! This bustling and crowded spot is great for a tasty lunch washed down with a glass of house wine. Parfait!
Superb food and service as always. Very impressive.
atmosphere was lovely but the food let it down I had the demi-poulet which was served over cooked, like it had been made previously and re-heated so quite dry and when I commented they did not seem to care and did nothing about it.
The shining bit was the pudding which was tasty too bad the main course let the rest down
Very good as always, my special of smoked haddock with green beans was excellent. My friend's skirt steak came and tasted as it should, great service as always.
Great! I will certainly I blog y be going back k to Luca and I suggest you try it. Good service Nd good foo d
A lovely authentic french bistro nestled in the city in leadenhall market. Worth a try!
A little gem in Leadenhall Market. Didn't know it was there, but glad my clients recommended it. Typically french, but great food and service. Quite noisy, so if you are cooking up a quiet deal, you are going to have to shout!
The majority of my party enjoyed their meal - I did not. I started with the bacon and potato rosti which contained hardly any bacon and I could have done with a hammer a chisel to get into it as it had been in the fryer far too long. This was followed by the chicken escalope which came in the most bland lime and chilli dressing (which smelt awful too). The chicken was hard and dry especially at it's thinnest parts i.e. it was overcooked again.
The only pluses from my perspective was the wine and the fact that my clients really enjoyed their meals.
Centrally located in London, the staff is very quick and attentive. The food is not extremely refined but at least French in its origin and presentation. Wine list is decent.
Luc's Brasserie is another firm favourite for client business and personal lunches. The area and the restaurant are both vibrant and colourful and it's a place that I would go back to time and time again
Excellent food and wine and a great location and superb service
